Charlie Kirk Confronted on LGBT Stance: Woman Loses Instagram Friends for Attending Turning Point USA Event

A woman who attended a Turning Point USA event shares how multiple friends unfriended her on Instagram simply for being there, accusing her of racism and fascism. She asks Charlie Kirk directly whether he and his organization hate the LGBT community, as she'd been told. Kirk's response addresses the difference between disagreement and hate, explaining his traditional view of marriage while clarifying his stance on the LGBT community. The exchange highlights the social cost some people face for engaging with perspectives outside their social circle's approved narrative.

The Social Cost of Attending a Free Event

A woman approached Charlie Kirk at a Turning Point USA event with a striking story. Within just hours of meeting Kirk and attending the gathering, she had already lost multiple friendships. Friends on Instagram had removed her and told her they could no longer maintain their friendship—simply because she attended a free event to hear different perspectives.

She described her approach as wanting to learn "both sides of the spectrum," a seemingly reasonable goal that nonetheless cost her social connections. The woman also humorously noted that she forgot to mention her pronouns: "I identify as non Joe Biden." Her philosophy, she explained, was "Live and Let Live"—believing everyone can live however they want and do whatever they want.

The Direct Question About Hate

The woman then posed a direct question to Kirk: Does he have any hate, and is Turning Point USA against the LGBT community? She explained that people had told her that by attending the event and listening to Kirk speak, she was either a racist, a fascist, or against the LGBT community.

She raised an interesting point about the definition of fascism itself, asking whether fascism is "when someone doesn't agree with your beliefs and your views and they want it either your way or the highway." Kirk responded by pointing out the irony: "The people that defriended you on Instagram, they're the fascists."

Kirk's Position on LGBT Issues

Kirk stated clearly that he does not have hate for a group or a people. He asked the woman to capture his response on her camera for clarity. "How could I hate that which I have a heart for?" he said.

Kirk acknowledged that he might not agree with some of the lifestyle choices that some people make, but emphasized that disagreement does not equal hate. He explained his personal belief about marriage: "If someone said Charlie what's your view on marriage, I say I believe marriage is between one man and one woman."

However, he made a clear distinction between holding a traditional view based on his interpretation of scripture and harboring hatred toward those who make different choices. "If you ask me what do I do, I have hate in my heart for somebody that doesn't choose the lifestyle that I believe that God laid out in the scriptures, of course not," Kirk stated.

The Reality Versus the Narrative

The woman noted that she had been told Turning Point USA is against the LGBT community. Kirk's response was straightforward: "You could be told a lot of different things."

The exchange concluded with the woman saying, "I rest my case," suggesting she found Kirk's actual position to be quite different from what she had been told about him and his organization. She thanked Kirk and offered a blessing before ending the conversation.

The interaction illustrates a broader phenomenon where attending events or engaging with speakers outside one's established social or political circle can result in immediate social consequences, regardless of the actual content discussed or positions held.
