Charlie Kirk is the Founder and President of Turning Point USA, the largest and fastest growing conservative youth activist organization in the country with over 250,000 student members, over 150 full-time staff, and a presence on over 2,000 high school and college campuses nationwide. Charlie is also the Chairman of Students for Trump, which aims to activate one million new college voters on campuses in battleground states in the lead up to the 2020 presidential election. His social media reaches over 100 million people per month and according to Axios, he is one of the "top 10 most engaged" Twitter handles in the world. He is also the host of “The Charlie Kirk Show,” which regularly ranks among the top news shows on Apple podcast charts.
Charlie Kirk Exposes Maxine Waters' Lies About LA Riots With Frontline Journalists Kaylin Delamita and Anthony Kabassa
Maxine Waters claims there was no violence during the LA protests, telling Americans not to believe what they saw with their own eyes. Charlie Kirk brings on two frontline journalists who were actually on the ground—Kaylin Delamita from Turning Point USA and independent journalist Anthony Kabassa. They reveal the truth about widespread looting, coordinated attacks on law enforcement, and strategically placed pallets of bricks near protest sites. These independent journalists risk their lives to document what mainstream media refuses to show, providing unfiltered evidence of organized agitation, professional protesters funded by unions and socialist organizations, and the dangerous reality that contradicts the narrative being pushed by California politicians.
Maxine Waters made a stunning statement dismissing the violence that occurred during recent protests in Los Angeles. Despite the National Guard being called out, Waters insisted there was no violence, claiming she was on the streets herself and witnessed only "a few incidents." She urged people not to believe what they saw or were told, directly contradicting the extensive video evidence and eyewitness accounts flooding social media.
Charlie Kirk brought on two journalists who were actually embedded in the chaos to set the record straight: Kaylin Delamita, a Turning Point USA frontlines reporter, and Anthony Kabassa, an independent journalist who has been covering civil unrest since 2017.
Widespread Destruction, Not Isolated Incidents
Kaylin Delamita immediately pushed back against Waters' characterization. "The truth is that these are not a few incidents. It's widespread and it's completely intentional," she explained. Walking through downtown Los Angeles, she witnessed countless broken windows, destroyed businesses, and looted stores. Whamo's was destroyed, and numerous police cars were attacked, with footage showing people throwing cinder blocks at police vehicles on the 101 freeway.
The scenes were reminiscent of the 2020 riots, with many of the agitators likely not being Los Angeles residents but opportunistic individuals from elsewhere who came to cause chaos.
Professional Agitators and Organized Coordination
Anthony Kabassa, who has been on the ground since the protests began on Friday, provided crucial context about who was organizing these demonstrations. The protests initially started as opposition to ICE raids in Los Angeles, but quickly escalated into violence and destruction.
Kabassa identified several organizations behind the coordination:
Black Lives Matter LA chapter
Party of Socialism and Liberation (PSL)
Democratic Socialists of America (DSA)
Teacher unions
SEIU (Service Employees International Union)
These groups were providing organizational support, including flyers, masks, food, and water for protesters. They were also actively fundraising online with messaging about fighting "fascism" and Trump's "Gestapo."
Pallets of Bricks Strategically Placed
One of the most disturbing discoveries Kabassa made was the strategic placement of weapons for rioters. He exclusively posted video evidence of a pallet of cinder blocks conveniently located near a Home Depot where ICE agents had set up a staging area.
"It's the only pallet with cinder blocks out there. There is no other pallet out there. There's no pallet of fertilizer. There's no pallet of anything else Home Depot sells," Kabassa explained. The pallet was positioned right in front of where federal agents were preparing to conduct operations.
He discovered a second site with bricks near downtown LA—tucked away on a corner, hidden from plain view, yet somehow protesters knew exactly where to find them.
A City Councilman's Role in Escalation
Kabassa revealed that a local city councilman played a direct role in inciting violence against federal agents. The councilman saw a DHS agent car enter the staging area and posted a video claiming DHS was getting ready to raid the Home Depot, urging people to come out and protest. While he called for peaceful protest, the result was violent attacks on DHS agents.
Blaming Trump and the National Guard
California Governor Gavin Newsom and LA Mayor Karen Bass attempted to shift blame for the violence to Republicans and President Trump, claiming the deployment of the National Guard escalated the situation. But Kabassa set the record straight: there were two full days of attacks on law enforcement and DHS agents, with stand-down orders to LAPD to do nothing about protesters assaulting federal agents. Only after this sustained violence did Trump activate the National Guard and Marines.
Crucially, the National Guard was being used solely to protect federal buildings—not to engage with or arrest protesters. "I haven't seen any National Guard make arrests, use weapons, or hit protesters to any capacity," Kabassa reported. The deployment simply freed up local law enforcement to focus on containment and arrests while federal assets protected government property.
The Reality of Embedded Journalism
Charlie Kirk emphasized the danger these independent journalists face. Kaylin Delamita explained her approach: "It's just a matter of being brave and staying out there knowing what to look for and what to watch out for." She watches for agitators who are extremely unpredictable and violent, while also making sure she isn't mistaken for one of them.
She documents burning American flags, store break-ins, people hurling insults and throwing objects, and evidence like piles of bricks—all the things mainstream media refuses to cover.
Anthony Kabassa, a U.S. veteran with a wife and three kids living in LA County, has been doing independent journalism since 2017. He covered the George Floyd riots from beginning to end, including Derek Chauvin's verdict in Minneapolis. During the Twitter 1.0 era, he was actually banned while covering those riots, making him grateful for Elon Musk's acquisition of the platform.
"These people will not run me out of my home. I will stand up and fight no matter what," Kabassa declared, explaining his decision to stay in California rather than flee to a red state.
Guerrilla Warfare Style Journalism
The risks are real and constant. Kabassa has been tear-gassed numerous times, shot at with rubber bullets, and hit by ricochets. He described it as "guerrilla warfare style journalism"—they don't have fancy cameras worth thousands of dollars that can zoom in from a distance, and they don't have helicopters. They have to get right in the thick of it.
The experience is so intense that Kabassa has developed a system with his wife: when he comes home from covering riots, he goes straight to the garage and isn't allowed inside the house until he's cleaned up.
Mainstream media doesn't face these risks because they're literally run out by Antifa and Marxist agitators. If you work for Fox News and are recognized, you'll be bullied until you leave, with the potential for escalation beyond that. This is why independent journalists are essential—they're the only ones willing to get the real story.
The Importance of Independent Media
Charlie Kirk made a crucial point: every image of burning cars, destroyed businesses, and violent attacks came from independent journalists, not legacy news media. Without Anthony Kabassa, Kaylin Delamita, and journalists like them, Americans would only receive synthesized and filtered versions of events through a media lens that often obscures the truth.
Ironically, left-wing law firms including the ACLU have been emailing Kabassa, begging him to join lawsuits against Trump and the federal government because he's an independent journalist recording the events. Despite being targeted by the very people whose violence he documents, these organizations want to use his journalist status for their legal battles.
Both Kabassa (with about 200,000 Instagram followers) and Delamita are supported by their audiences through donations, allowing them to continue their dangerous but essential work. They represent a new generation of citizen journalists willing to risk their safety to bring Americans the unfiltered truth about what's really happening in cities across the nation.
