[00:04] breaking news. Uh Charlie Kirk, uh very

[00:08] outspoken right-wing activist uh has

[00:12] been shot. Uh I'm sorry to say he has

[00:15] been shot. He was at uh Utah Valley

[00:18] University uh doing the first on a uh

[00:23] comeback uh America tour.

[00:26] um and America, the American comeback

[00:30] tour uh today when uh a gunman uh fired

[00:35] a single shot. And what I'm telling you

[00:37] is what's being reported so far. We

[00:40] haven't been able to confirm uh anything

[00:42] that we're telling you other than what's

[00:44] being reported uh across the media.

[00:47] Apparently, one shot rang out and uh uh

[00:51] Charlie uh was hit in the neck uh and

[00:55] taken to the hospital and uh his

[00:58] condition uh is unknown uh at this

[01:02] point. Uh Charlie is 31 years old. Uh he

[01:06] is a uh as I say a very strong

[01:09] right-wing

[01:10] uh conservative activist that speaks

[01:13] frequently on college campuses willing

[01:15] to debate anyone uh on any issue they

[01:20] want to bring forward u married with two

[01:23] children uh his wife Erica uh they have

[01:26] a son and a daughter and we're asking

[01:29] everyone uh to pray for his well-being

[01:34] uh at this point. Um, it's interesting

[01:37] to note that uh there was a 7,000

[01:42] signature petition uh trying to block

[01:45] his appearance uh at the university. So,

[01:49] it was quite controversial. Um, and the

[01:53] the shooting took place at uh 1210

[01:58] uh today local time. Um, and the

[02:02] university put out a statement uh that

[02:04] said he was hit and taken from the

[02:08] location by his security. Campus police

[02:11] are investigating and that a suspect is

[02:14] in um custody. Uh he is the executive

[02:19] director of Turningpoint USA and their

[02:23] press team confirmed to Fox News that uh

[02:27] Charlie Kirk had been shot but that his

[02:29] condition was unknown. Uh Utah Governor

[02:32] Spencer Cox uh posted on X that he would

[02:36] quote continue to share updates and that

[02:40] those responsible will be held fully

[02:43] accountable.

[02:45] uh that violence has no place in our

[02:47] public life. Americans of every

[02:50] political persuasion must unite in

[02:53] condemning this act and our prayers are

[02:55] with Charlie, his family, and all of

[02:58] those uh affected. Uh Mike Lee, uh Utah

[03:02] senator, posted on X shortly after

[03:05] reports broke that uh Kirk had been

[03:07] shot. Uh and he posted saying, "Tracking

[03:11] the situation at Utah Valley University

[03:13] closely. Please join me in praying uh

[03:16] for for Charlie Kirk and the students

[03:18] gathered there. Uh on Truth Social. Uh

[03:23] President Trump

[03:25] um posted quote must all pray for

[03:29] Charlie Kirk who has been shot. Great

[03:32] guy from top to bottom. From top to

[03:35] bottom. God bless him. Um, you know,

[03:41] this is, um, I I'm so sorry to be

[03:45] reporting on this. This is, uh,

[03:48] something that, you know, every single

[03:51] one of us should condemn. Uh, I'm I'm

[03:55] hoping and praying, uh, that Charlie,

[03:58] who I've known for a number of years

[04:00] now, um, uh, will come through this and

[04:03] be okay. We just don't know right now.

[04:06] Uh but uh this is America and this is

[04:12] not the way uh to deal with somebody uh

[04:17] that is speaking out. Uh in the entire

[04:21] time that I have known Charlie Kirk,

[04:24] he's always someone that welcomes uh

[04:28] debate uh gives people a microphone and

[04:32] lets them speak. And if somebody starts

[04:35] booing them or whatever, he'll say, "No,

[04:36] no, no, wait. Let them speak. Let them

[04:38] speak." Um, he he always has a sense of

[04:42] humor with people. He treats them with

[04:44] dignity and respect. Now, he will

[04:46] strongly uh talk about his point of

[04:50] view. He will ask hard questions, but he

[04:53] puts it out there. Uh he he goes and

[04:56] listens to people. He lets them say

[04:59] their peace. He asks questions and has

[05:03] an open debate. Um, and you know, we've

[05:06] talked about Heckler's veto, trying to

[05:09] keep people from coming on campus,

[05:11] signing these petitions to not let them

[05:13] speak uh and now uh to cowardly

[05:18] uh shoot him down. And this person uh

[05:23] there is a suspect in custody. Uh it's

[05:27] it's reported that it is an older male

[05:31] uh that has been arrested. Is it the

[05:34] right person? We don't know. All we know

[05:36] that a suspect is in custody. And um I I

[05:41] hope everybody, left, right, center,

[05:44] liberal, conservative, will condemn this

[05:47] action. This is absolutely

[05:50] uh cowardly and not the thing to do. Um,

[05:55] and there will be time to hold this

[05:57] person accountable. But right now, let's

[06:00] all pray for Charlie Kirk, his wife, and

[06:04] his children, whether you like his

[06:06] ideology or you don't. And I just hope

[06:11] we don't see things uh popping up on the

[06:14] internet like we saw uh after President

[06:17] Trump had been shot. Let's all condemn

[06:20] this and let's all pray for his return

[06:25] to health. Uh that's it uh for this real
