Suspect Apprehended in Charlie Kirk Assassination

President Trump announced that authorities apprehended the suspect in the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old from Utah, was found three and a half hours away from the scene. According to the president's announcement, investigators started with almost nothing—a grainy clip that made the suspect look like an ant—and worked tirelessly over two and a half days alongside local police and the governor to identify and capture him.

Eric Trump expressed his relief at the news, noting that Charlie Kirk was like family to the Trump organization. Kirk was someone President Trump felt deeply connected to, and Eric considered him a dear friend.

Meeting Charlie Kirk at 21 Years Old

Eric Trump recounted meeting Charlie Kirk when Kirk was just 21 years old and first came into the Trump organization. Eric was the first member of the Trump family to meet him. At that initial meeting, Charlie laid out his ambitious vision for what would become Turning Point USA.

Charlie told Eric about his aspirations to grow a movement across college campuses and reverse the indoctrination of students. At the time, Turning Point had only one or two college chapters, but Charlie depicted exactly what the organization is today—word for word. He wanted to change the mindset of young people across the nation, stop the indoctrination and wokeness, establish a presence on every college campus, get people on student body boards, and have them challenge professors.

Looking back, Eric noted that Charlie accomplished everything and more that he said he would do as a 21-year-old. Perhaps the greatest image of his success was visible just seconds before he was shot—crowds of people with love of country and love of God, excited to be there, having fun, wearing 47 hats, and holding American flags. Charlie was larger than life with a powerful voice, and he helped fulfill a movement that Eric believes is unstoppable. No bullet will stop that movement, Eric declared.

The Profile of the Shooter

Tyler Robinson appears to be a leftwing zealot from a middle-class background. He lived in a six-bedroom house in Utah and had a seemingly stress-free life. He received a scholarship to college and showed no signs that life was difficult for him. Yet he decided to kill someone in the prime of their life in front of a capacity crowd simply because he disagreed with what Charlie stood for.

Eric Trump found the irony striking—Robinson inscribed words like "fascist" and "Nazi" on bullet casings, yet he was the one standing on a rooftop with a German-made battle rifle shooting at a crowd of people having civil dialogue, all smiles, people who love their country and love God. Robinson, dressed in all black with a sniper rifle, embodied the very thing he claimed to oppose. Eric expressed that he will never fully understand how anger and indoctrination can evolve in someone to such evil lengths that they would take up arms and do something like this.

Under Siege Book and Proceeds for Turning Point

Eric Trump announced that his book "Under Siege: My Family's Fight to Save the Nation" hit number one on Amazon and is flying off the shelves. He revealed that he will donate a portion of the proceeds to Turning Point USA in Charlie's honor to ensure that his voice is not extinguished.

The book details everything that has been done to stop the Trump movement. Eric noted the timing was surreal—he wrote the title "Under Siege" before the Butler, Pennsylvania incident because that's what they were doing: laying siege to his family. They impeached his father, took away their freedom of speech, gagged them, indicted them repeatedly, went after them relentlessly, took his father off ballots, raided their homes, tried to break apart their family, tried to bankrupt them, debanked them, tried to shut down their company, and tried to throw them all in jail. Eric became the most subpoenaed person in American history.

Then they tried to kill his father the first time, tried to kill him a second time, tried to kill Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and now they killed one of their closest friends and one of the biggest people in the Make America Great Again movement. If Eric had published the book two days later, Charlie would have been another chapter documenting exactly what they've done through siege tactics. When they couldn't succeed with legal lawfare, lies, and slander, they resorted to violence.

The Need for Leadership at Turning Point

The conversation touched on the challenge facing Turning Point USA moving forward. While the organization has talented people, money, and knows how to put together events, they need a headliner—someone with Charlie's charisma and drive. Charlie was the general while others were soldiers. Eric was encouraged to consider how bigger names within the Trump movement who share the same message might step in to help sustain what Charlie built.

Letitia James and Legal Warfare

To illustrate the siege his family faced, Eric pointed to New York Attorney General Letitia James, who used all her resources to go after the Trump family despite not knowing them personally. In a clip played during the interview, James stated: "I'm running for attorney general because I will never be afraid to challenge this illegitimate president. Tonight, we send the message that no one is above the law. I look forward to going into the office of attorney general every day, suing him, defending your rights, and then going home."

James won a civil case against the Trump family for $750 million, which they appealed. Eric had to scramble to get a bond, and James tried to stop them from obtaining one. She wanted to carve up all Trump assets and take their name off every building around the country. Eric thanked God they won and the appellate division overruled her. She wanted to extinguish their name and his father's legacy, to bankrupt them, without caring about the thousands of employees working for the Trump organization in New York and tens of thousands around the world. She went into office with one mission: to get Donald Trump.

This exemplified what Eric discusses in "Under Siege"—they used legal lawfare, political lawfare, weaponized the DOJ, raided houses, debanked them, and did anything they could to hurt the family financially, waste their time, and slander them. Eric referenced the dirty dossier where they said unthinkable things about his father to try to break up his marriage, and the whole Russia hoax. When America wasn't buying the narrative and they lost time after time, they resorted to violence.

The Case Against Allen Weisselberg

Eric also discussed how prosecutors targeted Allen Weisselberg, the Trump Organization's 80-year-old CFO who had been with the company for 50 years. They put him in jail twice because he wouldn't break and tell lies about the Trump family. Prosecutors told him, "Allan, you tell us anything about Donald Trump and you go free." But Weisselberg responded, "I'm not going to lie. We run a perfect company. We run a perfectly honest company."

They eventually got him because he didn't declare his corporate car on his personal tax returns. They sentenced an 80-year-old man to jail for having a corporate vehicle. Eric said you literally can't make it up. They had crooked judges facilitating these efforts.

Fighting Back Despite Being Gagged

Eric explained that the scary thing about their situation was that, thank God, they had resources and a big voice as a family. His father's voice was taken away by the judge in the New York case with a gag order. So Eric, who wasn't gagged, went down to the courthouse steps every single day—oftentimes talking to Brian Kilmeade—and laid out every single fact in the case, why it was a sham, and why the judge's daughter was working for the other side. They gagged his father, but they didn't gag Eric or the rest of the family, and they would not stop, would not back down, would not cower.

That's ultimately why they beat Hillary Clinton when they were at a 5-to-1 disadvantage in funding, and why they came back despite being against the entire mainstream media to win again in 2024 against unthinkable odds.

The Family Stress and Staying United

When asked about keeping the extended family together under such extreme stress—stress that could bankrupt the family business and destroy everything they had built—Eric revealed that he shouldered most of that weight. Outside of Washington DC, he shouldered it all. As the person running the company, he was the one getting the subpoenas. His father had executive branch protections under the Speech and Debate Clause of the Constitution, making it harder for prosecutors to go after him directly. So they sent all the subpoenas to Eric instead.

Eric became the most subpoenaed man in American history, yet he goes to bed every night at exactly 9:00 PM. He says four prayers with his kids, they say the Pledge of Allegiance, and he puts them down. No drinking, no drugs, no nonsense, no laptops from hell. Eric doesn't have a dishonest bone in his body, has never crossed any line, no pictures of illicit drugs or prostitution. Yet somehow he was the guy on this side of the aisle getting 112 subpoenas while Hunter Biden got away with what Eric called "absolute murder."

Hunter Biden was selling finger paintings all over the world for millions of dollars while Eric, with legitimate businesses, had to spend $400 million to defend the family from sham trials. The irony is massive, Eric noted, but the family never broke and never cowered. Baron is an amazing kid, Tiffany is an amazing girl, and Don Jr. and Ivanka are two of the greatest people on earth.

It's unlikely to see that unity because you never see children of politicians on that stage. The number one rule in politics is to keep the kids and family out of politics. But the only people President Trump had were Don Jr. and Eric and Laura, and they went out and fought. The assassination of Charlie Kirk is exactly what the opposition wanted—to keep the Trump family off the stage, to silence their voices, to prevent Eric from being in every swing state and at these events. They're trying to scare the family, which is why they can never cower.

Why Donald Trump Ran for President

Eric shared a story from the book that he'd never shared before. He was in the office with his father when NBC was trying to sign him for multiple additional seasons of The Apprentice. The number of zeros behind that contract was staggering—The Apprentice was all NBC had at that period. The network was getting beaten up by CBS's Survivor and was failing in the ratings. NBC executives came in begging, willing to put as many zeros on the end of the contract as necessary. Eric was talking about contracts that would go into the billions of dollars.

But Donald Trump said, "I'm not going to do it." He never told NBC why he wasn't going to do it. About a week later, he announced he was running for president of the United States. He had to run against 16 candidates on the Republican side—people who actually knew something about politics. Eric joked that he didn't know what a caucus was; he built skyscrapers, golf courses, and operated commercial buildings. They didn't know what the delegate process was in the country. Yet they had to run against Jeb Bush, who had $350 million stuffed in his super PACs before South Carolina, against an entire mainstream media that was laughing at them.

And if you beat those 16 candidates, you then had to run against Hillary Clinton. Yet Donald Trump turned down billions of dollars to do all of that. Eric called his father amazing.

Charlie Kirk's Legacy Will Continue

Eric Trump made clear that the movement Charlie Kirk built and the voice he amplified will not be extinguished. By directing proceeds from "Under Siege" to Turning Point USA, Eric is ensuring that Charlie's mission continues. The Trump family will continue to stand on that stage in honor of Charlie and everything he fought so hard for. They are attacking everyone, attacking religion, attacking the Constitution, attacking all Americans. When they couldn't win through legal lawfare, lies, and slander, they resorted to violence. But the movement will not be stopped.
