Lauren Boebert’s Bill BANNING Defense Manufacturers From Boycotting Israel Passes House!

Critics argue this provision is unconstitutional, violating the First Amendment by punishing political boycotts and shielding Israel from accountability for human rights violations.

Guest hosts Russell Dobular and Keaton Weiss of the Due Dissidence show note the curious timing of the vote, occurring directly in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, despite his vocal opposition to similar anti-BDS bills earlier this year. They add that using his death as political cover highlights how entrenched pro-Israel influence is in U.S. politics, while a slim coalition of Republican dissenters has so far prevented even harsher crackdowns from advancing.

[00:00] The US Congress is trying to make it so

[00:02] that in order for American weapons

[00:04] manufacturers to supply weapons to the

[00:07] US military, they must also supply

[00:09] weapons to Israel by law.

[00:13] Welcome to the Jimmy Door Show,

[00:14] everybody. Katon and Russ from Dissident

[00:17] here while Jimmy is on the road. All

[00:20] right, folks. So, with everything going

[00:23] on with all of the uh shock and horror

[00:26] of the past week, uh this slipped

[00:30] through the news here. James Lee is on

[00:32] the case. Pay attention, folks. While we

[00:34] were all distracted, the House just

[00:36] passed a bill to make it illegal for US

[00:38] defense contractors to boycott Israel.

[00:42] Read that again. American weapons

[00:45] manufacturers will now be legally bound

[00:48] to keep arming Israel by order of

[00:51] Congress. WTF? You know, if there's one

[00:54] group of people I hate to see pushed

[00:55] around in this way. It's American

[00:57] weapons.

[00:58] You know, I hate to see them bullied in

[01:01] this way. This really gets my blood.

[01:03] >> It's terrible.

[01:04] >> Here's James Lee.

[01:06] >> Distract us from in the last couple

[01:08] days. Well, it's this right here. The

[01:10] House of Representatives just passed a

[01:12] bill punishing quote politically

[01:14] motivated boycots of Israel. Quote, "In

[01:17] a first step towards a federal law

[01:19] punishing criticism of Israel, the House

[01:21] of Representatives on Wednesday, that

[01:24] was 9/11, mind you, passed a massive

[01:26] defense budget that would bar companies

[01:28] engage in politically motivated boycots

[01:30] of the country from Pentagon contracts."

[01:33] The bill would effectively ban

[01:34] contractors boycotting Israel from

[01:36] tapping most federal contract dollars

[01:38] since more than half of the $755 billion

[01:41] in the US government spent on contracts

[01:43] last year flowed through the defense

[01:45] department. All right, so in more plain

[01:46] English, the US Congress is trying to

[01:49] make it so that in order for American

[01:51] weapons manufacturers to supply weapons

[01:54] to the US military, they must also

[01:57] supply weapons to Israel by law. What

[02:00] the is that all about? I also just want

[02:02] to reiterate again that Israel had

[02:04] nothing to do with the assassination of

[02:07] Charlie Kirk.

[02:08] >> Okay.

[02:09] >> Yeah, that is so bizarre that I mean you

[02:11] talk about overcompensating for

[02:13] something that you would tweet out a

[02:15] picture of yourself and Charlie Kirk

[02:19] with the Israeli flag in the background.

[02:22] I mean, talk about, you know, Lady Doth

[02:24] protest too much, man. I don't know. He

[02:26] should have tweeted out a video that

[02:28] video of him at the baseball game after

[02:30] after the uh

[02:31] >> associate. Yeah. Doing the YMCA.

[02:33] >> Looked like he was Yeah. He was having a

[02:34] great time.

[02:36] >> Yeah. Right. That's his his morning

[02:37] process.

[02:38] >> Oh, that's right. I got to look sad.

[02:39] That's right.

[02:40] >> That's right. The House just passed a

[02:43] bill punishing politically motivated

[02:45] boycots of Israel. In a first step

[02:48] toward a federal law punishing criticism

[02:50] of Israel, the House of Representatives

[02:52] on Wednesday passed a massive defense

[02:54] budget that would bar companies engaged

[02:56] in politically motivated boycotts of the

[02:59] country from Pentagon contracts. The

[03:01] bill would effectively ban contractors

[03:03] boycotting Israel from tapping most

[03:05] federal contract dollars since more than

[03:08] half of the 755 billion the US

[03:11] government spent on contracts last year

[03:13] flowed through the defense department.

[03:15] That's now the War Department. I will

[03:17] have to issue that correction. It's

[03:19] 2025. Get with the times. The ban, the

[03:22] latest legislative attempt to target the

[03:23] boycott, dive investment, and sanctions

[03:25] movement against Israel's human rights

[03:27] violations or BDS, would still have to

[03:29] pass the Senate. The upper chamber,

[03:31] well, not if Chuck Schumer has anything

[03:33] to say about it. The upper chamber was

[03:35] debating its own version of the budget

[03:37] bill on Thursday that does not include

[03:39] an anti-BDS provision. Critics predict a

[03:42] court challenge if the anti-boycott

[03:44] provision makes it into law. This

[03:46] amendment is really designed to shield

[03:48] Israel from any accountability by

[03:50] penalizing those who protest its

[03:52] violations of Palestinian human rights

[03:54] through boycots, which should be

[03:56] protected by the First Amendment, said

[03:58] Hassan El Taab, the legislative director

[04:00] for Middle East policy at the Friends

[04:02] Committee on National Legislation. The

[04:05] anti-BDS provision was spearheaded by

[04:07] Representative Lauren Boowart from

[04:09] Colorado, whose office did not respond

[04:12] to a request for comment. Boowbert's

[04:14] measure received no discussion when it

[04:16] was approved by the House on a voice

[04:18] vote as part of a package of amendments

[04:20] to the budget bill Tuesday. The House

[04:23] went on to pass the full amended version

[04:25] of the National Defense Authorization

[04:27] Act on Wednesday night. The overall bill

[04:30] passed 237 to 196 with support from 214

[04:35] Republicans and 17 Democrats. El Taab

[04:39] said that passing the anti-boycott

[04:41] provision in such a rush manner did a

[04:43] real disservice to the American people,

[04:45] especially people who were engaged in

[04:47] protesting and unfolding genocide going

[04:49] on in Gaza. Bills targeting the BDS

[04:52] movement have passed many state

[04:53] legislatores. Of course, some seek to

[04:56] bar people or companies supporting BDS

[04:58] from winning government contracts,

[05:00] leading critics of the laws to argue

[05:02] that they violate the First Amendment's

[05:04] guarantee of free speech by punishing

[05:07] political views. President Trump signed

[05:10] an executive order targeting the boycott

[05:12] movement during his first term in 2019,

[05:15] which he restored in January after his

[05:17] reelection. ProPalestine activists have

[05:20] been a major target of his ongoing

[05:22] crackdown on universities and

[05:24] immigrants. Existing federal law takes

[05:26] aim at companies who observe Arab

[05:28] countries boycott of Israel. Earlier

[05:32] this year, however, pro-Israel lawmakers

[05:34] sought to criminally penalize anyone who

[05:36] boycotted companies that the United

[05:38] Nations has identified as doing business

[05:40] in illegal Israeli settlements in the

[05:42] occupied West Bank. That was the big

[05:45] boycott bill. That was the probably the

[05:47] scariest one of them all. And here's the

[05:49] kicker. The bill uh floundered, I'm

[05:52] assuming that was a typo, in the face of

[05:54] opposition from Representative Marjorie

[05:57] Taylor Green of Georgia and conservative

[06:01] activists. Now, here's where this

[06:03] becomes a very bitter thing. One of

[06:05] these conservative activists, as

[06:07] Blakeley points out, was now the late

[06:10] Charlie Kirk. What's particularly sick

[06:12] about them sneaking that

[06:13] unconstitutional anti-boycott bill

[06:16] through using Charlie Kirk's death as a

[06:18] distraction is that back in May when

[06:20] they tried to pass it the first time,

[06:22] Kirk tweeted against it. Of course,

[06:24] Zionist lunatic Mark Leven had a

[06:27] meltdown. So yes, this was the piece uh

[06:29] that the article mentions the

[06:32] anti-boycott bill which would prohibit

[06:35] ordinary people from participating in

[06:37] boycots endorsed by international

[06:40] organizations uh like for example the

[06:43] United Nations. Uh so this was Charlie

[06:46] Kirk on May 4th of this year. Tomorrow,

[06:48] the House will vote on HR867,

[06:51] a bill that will criminalize private

[06:53] boycots of Israel, fines up to $1

[06:56] million in prison time up to 20 years.

[06:58] Bills like this only create more

[07:00] anti-semitism and play into growing

[07:03] narratives that Israel is running the US

[07:05] government. In America, you are allowed

[07:07] to hold differing views. You are allowed

[07:10] to disagree and protest. We've allowed

[07:12] far too many people who hate America to

[07:16] uh move here from abroad, but the right

[07:18] to speak freely is the birthright of all

[07:20] Americans. This bill should not pass.

[07:23] Any Republican that votes for this bill

[07:26] will expose themselves. We will be

[07:29] watching very closely. That's Charlie

[07:31] Kirk in May. To which Mark Leavin says,

[07:34] "You don't know who you're talking

[07:35] about, Charlie." Bill Garly extends the

[07:38] anti-boycott Act of 2018 signed by

[07:40] President Trump to international

[07:42] organizations. Yes, he know. I'm sure he

[07:44] knew that. Everybody knew that. Yes.

[07:47] What causes anti-semitism is

[07:49] anti-semites, bigot,

[07:51] >> Jew haters.

[07:52] >> They don't need excuses. As you state

[07:54] here,

[07:55] >> your post is absurd.

[07:59] >> Yeah. Syrian girl says they didn't even

[08:01] wait till his body was cold. Yeah, that

[08:04] is what makes this kind of extra scummy.

[08:07] Granted, it was not the exact same bill,

[08:09] but to pass an anti-BDS bill under the

[08:13] cover of the tragic uh horrible murder

[08:18] of Charlie Kirk, um when he was, you

[08:22] know, to his credit, you know, it's no

[08:24] secret. I didn't agree with Charlie Kirk

[08:26] on much, but to to his credit, um you

[08:29] know, he did oppose that boycott bill.

[08:31] And I think that, you know, that that

[08:34] activism, that pressure is probably a

[08:37] large part of what sank it. That got

[08:38] enough Republicans who were responsive

[08:41] to that faction of the base to vocalize

[08:44] their opposition to it. Massie voices

[08:47] opposition to it, Marjorie Taylor Green.

[08:49] And uh it didn't even make it to the

[08:51] floor. And so yeah, just just it makes

[08:54] it just extra scummy that they did this

[08:56] this week for that reason.

[08:58] >> Yeah. Well, they're not going to waste

[09:00] uh an opportunity to push their agenda

[09:03] just like they didn't after 9/11. Why do

[09:06] you think they had the Patriot Act ready

[09:07] to go so quick? Cuz that was Dick

[09:10] Cheny's wish list that had been sitting

[09:12] at the bottom of a drawer since the

[09:14] Nixon administration. They had that

[09:17] written up, ready to go. Soon as 911

[09:19] happened, boom, they brought it to

[09:21] Congress. Charlie Kirk, this happened.

[09:24] They know there's a lot of emotion. And

[09:26] when people are very emotional, they're

[09:28] very easy to manipulate,

[09:30] they're going to take this opportunity

[09:32] to try to push through a bunch of stuff

[09:35] that uh they think people might be

[09:39] distracted enough to let them get away

[09:41] with that not only have nothing to do

[09:44] with Charlie Kirk, but that as you see

[09:46] there, he actively opposed and they'll

[09:49] try to use his name. Look what Netanyahu

[09:51] has done trying to trying to curl up to

[09:55] his memory when Max has been doing a lot

[09:58] of reporting. He just dropped another

[10:00] banger about how Charlie Kirk was

[10:04] starting to go kind of, you know, assert

[10:08] that part, the kind of Marjorie Taylor

[10:10] Green kind of American nationalism of,

[10:13] hey, why are we involved in this? Why do

[10:16] we allow these people to have this much

[10:18] power over our foreign policy? Now, we

[10:21] don't know what happened. I think to

[10:23] believe the story that's coming out of

[10:26] coming out of the White House right now,

[10:28] particularly with the developments with

[10:30] the manifesto that used to exist but

[10:32] doesn't exist, and other people are

[10:35] cooperating. He's not cooperating. And

[10:37] the gun that could be broken down and

[10:39] then put back together. If you believe

[10:41] what they're telling you about how this

[10:43] happened, I I don't know what to tell

[10:44] you. Um, it's pretty clearly uh some

[10:49] kind of cover up. It's very clearly for

[10:52] whatever reason. We don't know for sure.

[10:56] We have our suspicions. Um, they want to

[10:59] misdirect people away from what actually

[11:01] happened here. Now, you look at who had

[11:04] a motive. A lot of people are looking at

[11:07] Israel, ourselves included. There's good

[11:09] reason to believe that. What you can't

[11:12] uh deny is that there's some very solid

[11:16] reporting and we can see the evidence in

[11:19] tweets like that. Remember Charlie Kirk

[11:21] was a young guy, man. He was not an old

[11:23] guy set in his ways. There was a lot of

[11:25] room for him to evolve and particularly

[11:28] given that his generational cohort among

[11:31] Republicans is extremely skeptical of

[11:34] the Zionist project that he was going to

[11:37] go that way and that was going to be a

[11:38] nightmare for him. He was not just

[11:40] another schmuck talking on a mic. He had

[11:43] a national organization that if Charlie

[11:47] Kirk had turned around and you know,

[11:50] let's not get it twisted. People have

[11:51] pointed out very recently he was denying

[11:54] that there was starvation in Gaza. I

[11:57] mean, he hadn't fully flipped, but he

[12:01] was starting to show some independence.

[12:02] And when you're talking about somebody

[12:04] that young, you don't know how that

[12:07] could go. And if he had gone that way,

[12:09] if Charlie Kirk had put the thumbs down

[12:13] on the Zionist project, that would have

[12:16] been a major major tipping point within

[12:19] the entire right-wing coalition. Like

[12:21] you couldn't have really at that point,

[12:23] the Zionist among them would have been

[12:26] fringe. Like they they wouldn't have

[12:28] even represented or been able to

[12:31] represent themselves as the mainstream

[12:33] of the party. I don't think they're the

[12:35] mainstream of the party now, but that

[12:37] would have made it just completely

[12:41] unquestionable that they had been pushed

[12:43] to the margins.

[12:44] >> Yeah. On the boycott score, there does

[12:47] seem to be some encouraging news. Uh

[12:50] this bill is up for a hearing on

[12:52] Wednesday, so I don't think it's certain

[12:54] yet, but Sam Husseini reported it. He's

[12:56] pretty solid. um that the uh Marco Rubio

[13:00] passport revocation powers for Israel

[13:03] critics has been stripped uh from this

[13:06] upcoming bill that they're going to be

[13:09] uh tableabling on Wednesday. So, you

[13:11] know, it seems I mean, look, this is

[13:13] tied to the NDAA. It's a defense

[13:16] department thing. Ultimately, they got

[13:18] to get that money approved, right? The

[13:21] war machine must be fed. So, this is

[13:24] probably one of those areas where you

[13:25] can jam it through. uh because there's

[13:27] enough bipartisan support. But

[13:29] thankfully, knock on wood, for the time

[13:30] being, there seems to be barely barely

[13:35] enough opposition to these really uh

[13:39] just like draconian speech crackdown

[13:41] bills to the point where they seem to be

[13:45] failing. Like Lawler's anti-boycott bill

[13:48] failed largely thanks to the pressure of

[13:52] guys like Charlie Kirk and Thomas Massie

[13:55] and Marjorie Taylor Green. And there

[13:56] seems to be just enough of that in the

[13:59] Republican coalition and just a small

[14:02] enough coalition. I mean, this is the

[14:03] other thing. You got to be grateful they

[14:06] only have a slim majority because if

[14:09] they had a bigger majority, then you

[14:11] know, these uh desenters would would be

[14:15] flooded out. Um, but balance of power

[14:18] being what it is, there seems to be just

[14:21] barely enough opposition to the worst of

[14:24] these bills, which is a good sign

[14:26] because 5 years ago, there'd have been

[14:28] none. There would have been none.

[14:29] >> Sure.

[14:31] >> Hey, the cost of everything is still out

[14:33] of control. And many of us are relying

[14:34] on credit cards to cover essentials. If

[14:37] that debt is piling up, you're not

[14:38] alone. Americans collectively owe over a

[14:40] trillion dollars in credit card debt.

[14:42] You might have considered reaching out

[14:44] to my friends at American Financing, but

[14:46] hesitated because you don't want to give

[14:48] up your low mortgage rate. Well, there's

[14:50] good news. They've created the Smart

[14:51] Equity Loan. It's a solution designed to

[14:54] help you take control of your finances

[14:55] without touching your current mortgage.

[14:58] Unlike a HELOC, which can have varied

[15:00] interest rates, the Smart Equity Loan

[15:02] offers a fixed rate. That means one

[15:04] predictable monthly payment, giving you

[15:06] peace of mind. This loan allows you to

[15:08] leverage your equity in your home to pay

[15:10] off highinterest debt, free up your cash

[15:12] flow, and keep your existing low

[15:15] mortgage rate intact. It only takes 10

[15:17] minutes to get started with no upfront

[15:19] or hidden fees. Call American Financing
