So, I'm just like standing there. I guess. Yeah, if we were walking around [Applause] Hiding [Applause] all the things. [Applause] I don't know. monster. [Applause] Hey, [Applause] All right. [Applause] >> Yeah. Yeah. Woohoo. USA. USA. USA. USA. [Applause] [Music] No. [Applause] >> Let's just go back and keep watching. Damn it. [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] It's honestly the I took it on the red. >> What the No, I >> need one person. Let's head over to the protest side. [Applause] Look like this is the patriot side over here. >> We're going to head over to the protest side with the gate flags. >> Got to go say hi to all the allies. [Applause] [Applause] Okay. All right. Maybe I'll walk around. [Applause] [Applause] Sydney. Hey, [Applause] it [Applause] Nothing over here. >> No. All the places where you can get anywhere close to you. Wait, [Applause] wait. [Applause] Where are you at? [Applause] I want to get [Music] [Applause] stuff for [Applause] >> Oh my goodness. [Applause] [Applause] What's up you guys? You guys excited to see Charlie Kirk? >> No. >> Oh, what are you doing here? >> To boo him. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Is that your hand? >> We don't really like that. >> This is the camera right here. Oh, >> we don't really like people. >> Yeah, >> that's a pretty lightweight setup. >> Thanks, man. Yeah, I got some >> Are you here for this personal stuff? >> Oh, is it? >> I'm just backpack. >> It's all right here. >> So, this is your >> I got some I got a router in the backpack. >> Well, you do live streams. >> Yeah, I'm streaming right now. >> That's the camera. >> That's the camera. Yeah. >> That's your recorder. Your flasher. >> This is the audio >> capture. Look how look how tiny that is. >> Wow. >> It's my own uh >> DIY streaming setup. >> Those professional ones cost like five grand. >> Yeah. >> I remember what that is. >> I've seen I've seen small ones, but I haven't seen them. >> This is the mic right here. >> This This is the receiver for this. >> Yeah, it's a transmitter. >> Really? Can you put that up next to that just so I can >> make that took a picture? >> That's really tiny. But where's your wind screen? >> Yeah, that's what >> it's in my backpack. I got to get it out. >> So that's your monitor and this you all. Is this your recorder or is the is the SD in there or SD in here? >> Uh I can record to this the SD in this and stream at the same time. Recording to everything. >> Wow. >> So that way if I have multiple cameras, you don't miss any angle, you know. >> Who makes that camera? >> Uh it's Logitech. I have a a bigger one at home I don't like to bring out here. >> It's a pretty wide angle >> that has a micro four/ third lens. >> Oh, it does. It's that big. >> Yeah, it's like a cube like this big and it has a micro four thirds and >> battery. I've heard that company, but they're mostly uh surveillance cameras. >> Mostly like keyboards and mouses. I think they bought these guys Evo camera. >> So it's a it's a bigger version of that with micro four third lenses. >> Yes. Yeah. I love that one. I didn't want to bring >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> You do interviews. Is that >> Yeah, exactly. >> Are they mostly? >> Well, they're carrying the Palestine. They're anti everything. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Hey, thanks, man. There we go. Now I can control >> you. >> There you go. If you wanted to know about my setup, that guy uh asked all the right questions. >> What's going on, man? [Music] So, hey, why don't you guys like Charlie Kirk? >> Uh, I think that he's >> I don't like his views on genocide and how he's like dying in America. >> I don't approve that he's condoning someone who's pushing the US to become more authoritarian and is violating the Constitution every which way. He confused a dolphin fetus with a human fetus. >> Charlie Kirk did. >> Yeah, >> he did. >> Say that again. >> He confused a dolphin fetus with a human fetus. >> Yeah. On like a >> When was this? >> It was during his >> He was asked, "Is this He was asked, "Is this a baby?" and showed a picture of a dolphin fetus. And he said, "Without a doubt." >> And the guy got him. >> Kurt, >> when do you think life begins? >> No idea. >> I don't know. And for that reason, I think we should force people to do decision. the choice to make the choice. >> Gotcha. >> What about you? >> Uh I agree with both of what they have said and I think that believing that life believes believing that life starts at conception is uh I mean can you can you look at that and define that that is a life? I feel like you could say that then life starts before when it's conceived in your head. Like is life >> I don't know you can you can vary the definition and I'm this is why I'm not debating him. How far are you willing to push the line? Right. >> Yeah. >> I I'm not like I don't want other people. >> What if we said like when uh when vocal cords were developed in the in the fetus that if it was old enough that if it were taken out of the womb, it'd be screaming. Would that be when life has begun? >> I mean, I would say like I I can't physically like like conceive like a a child in my own body. So, I'm not going to like like put pressure on other people. um they can like have their own opinions and I'm not gonna force >> I mean just for like biology reasons for like we're at UV UVU here. >> So like when would you consider that life begins? >> Um I mean we could argue semantics all day. >> I was just curious what your opinion >> Yeah. We could say what do you say a genocide >> disagree with Charlie. So I was wondering what your what your side was. >> My opinion is people should just have the freedom to do their own thing especially when we don't have a defined thing. Because if you make rules without a thing that is defined, then that's when you get into issues because you're controlling people's choices based on something that we're not 100% sure on. That's the whole point we're trying to make. >> Fair enough. >> Can you hold up your signs, guys? >> Yes, sir. >> Don't legalize racism. What's that one mean? Um it's uh based on the recent Supreme Court decision to um allow people to uh be deported purely based on uh skin color or even like a slight suspicion based on like speaking Spanish. >> The Supreme Court said they could deport people based off their skin color. >> Supreme Court said that they are >> This is grounds for like >> deta Yeah, it's reasonable suspicion which means they can be detained. >> What was grounds for it? Color of the skin. >> Color of the skin. speaking Spanish or speaking with the accent. >> I I haven't heard this, so I'll have to look that up. >> This was like It was literally two days ago. This is just two days ago. >> Okay. What's your sign say? >> My sign says free Palestine, love one another. >> Uh free Palestine. There's a genocide. >> What's that what's that referencing to love one another? >> The love one another is referencing the Bible. It's referencing Jesus's teachings. I like I'm a Christian. I don't know much about Christianity. I've struggled with it a lot, but recently I I feel like there's been not enough love in the world. I feel like there's been so much hate even here. All of these people out there, I might disagree with most of them, but I still love them for who they are. And I respect a lot of the opinions they have. That's what that's representing. >> And it it's like love one another isn't just a Christian concept. That's a human concept. We should like be accepting and we should love other people. >> I'm very atheist. I believe in that whole I'm very atheist. I believe in that wholeheartedly. Okay. >> Society doesn't work without us loving each other and getting along. Otherwise, there's just disputes and conflicts and it gets ugly. >> Okay. I see you got the rainbow pin on there. >> Yep. >> What's that mean? >> Gay pride. >> Gay pride. >> I support LGBTQ plus. >> Okay. Would you guys go support gay pride in Palestine? >> So, yes. In Palestine, a lot of people >> would that be something you guys would be willing to do in person? >> I feel like no, I'd get bombed. I'd get killed. I don't I don't live in Palestine also. So, >> I do it here because I live here, you know. >> Okay. All right. >> A lot of people bring up the argument that in Palestine it's not legal to be gay. It is not legal. Like people love to >> Yeah, I've heard that a lot. >> Yeah, I've heard that a lot, too. And my I I just believe that they still should not be mass murdered. Their children shouldn't be killed at the age of zero. >> We also don't condone Hamas either. We don't think that's all right. >> We're not Yeah, we're not supporting terror. >> Say that. Say that one more time real quick. >> We also don't condone Hamas. We think the genocide's wrong on both sides. We're just saying that >> we're not advocating is the one that's being we're pro-Jewish people and pro Palestinian people. >> You think people should live people have a right to live. >> And that that's kind of back to like the love one another thing. It's like love everyone. >> Love everyone regardless regardless of race. >> Well, thanks guys. Appreciate you guys coming out here. >> We appreciate you. Love you. >> You going to go down and see the get closer? Are they like restricting you guys up here or what? >> No, it's too crowded. >> It's just there's just so much so much. Before we had a flag and we had it so it's positioned above the tent so it would be in the camera made us move. >> What was that? >> Holy [__] >> Holy [__] >> [__] [__] [__] [Applause] >> There's been a shooting. There's been a shooting. We heard shots. We heard shots. [Applause] you guys. Okay. Okay. Love you. Be safe. Okay. Be safe. Bye. >> Apparently, it's been a shooting. I don't know who's been shot. [Applause] We are here live at Utah Valley State University. There's been a shooting at the Charlie Kirk event, the TPUSA event. There has been a shooting. Everybody's evacuating. >> I don't know if that was shots or if that was fireworks to be honest, but How you doing, sir? >> Good. How are you doing? >> Were you able to see anything that happened? >> I was standing right here interviewing people. Hang on. >> Charlie Kirk got shot. >> Holy [__] Charlie Kirk got shot in the neck is what my kid is saying. >> Your kid saying Charlie? >> Yeah. Oh my goodness. My son is down there. He says that Charlie Kirk has been shot in the neck. This is unconfirmed. This is from my son who was down there right in front of Charlie Kirk. We're going to go down there and see if we can get Any more info? >> My son just said Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck. >> I don't know the accuracy of that. [Music] [Music] You guys okay? >> No. Stay. >> Abby, are you inside or outside? >> My son just said that on the phone. Yeah, he got shot in the green over there. >> It sounded like to me like it hit from up there. >> Sounded like a sharpshooter. >> Dude, he just got shot. >> Hey, >> what happened? After how we hit, we all ran off. >> Hey everybody, clear out someone here. We have multiple eyewitnesses saying that Charlie Kirk has been shot in the neck and that they saw blood spray. >> Where are you? >> Calm down. I don't know yet. >> I'm getting out of here. >> Stay close, >> you guys. Up this way. Let's go up that way. >> Hey, that way. >> Go, guys. Move that way. It's >> definitely not fireworks. this area off this. Watch my back. Safety team is here. I just heard them say the active shooter Charlie Kirk has been shot. Charlie Kirk got hit is what the what the security detail just said. My son just messaged me and says that Charlie Kirk >> You need to leave >> now. Quick >> right now. Hey, >> he's out. He's He's out. He made it out. He's fine. He's out. He made it out. He's fine. He's looking for you. He's looking for you. Hang on. Hang on. Hang on a second. Where are you located? >> Where are you? >> Call Liam. Hang up here. >> You actually Hey, sir. Did you say you saw it happen? What are you doing? >> Yes, I see you. >> Work your way around me. Hello University back to the grass as much as possible. the guy who was arrested. I got >> a photo. >> The love and tolerance crowd. >> Yeah, I saw them evaporated. >> Do you know where? So apparently um this photographer that was just right here in front of my camera got a picture of the guy that was arrested. Um he was looking for the he's heading to the UVU police to give them that picture. Um where where were you at? >> I was just over there in that little structure area. I was >> telling me what happened. So, I was at first I started off maybe 30 seconds before the shot, walking up the stairs all the way to the side of the bridge underpass area because I was looking for the line to ask him a question. It came to our attention that the line was on the other side. So, I went around and ended just by the structure thing. And that's when we heard the gunshot. Wow. >> Do you know where she is? She's in the Sorenson Center. Sorenson Center. Stay with me. >> Somebody got a picture of the guy that got arrested. >> Is that the guy they they cuffed? >> Apparently, I don't know. So, I was up there on the balcony. >> Saw a guy down there. They cuffed and called off. >> There was a guy down here getting video. There was people up there videoing down that that definitely must have got a a you know a wide out angle. >> Did you hear that he got hit for sure? >> Uh my son here told me >> he's been hit in the neck or the chest. >> Yeah, >> I've heard mostly the neck, but I've heard chest a couple times. >> One of the I talked to one of the officers. He got he said he got hit hard. >> I just pray it's in his shoulder. >> Yeah. election was set up because >> the second speaker was the one talking about guns >> and then the next thing you know >> Yeah, that must be >> you know what I mean. >> Yeah, that does sound fishy. He's a close friend of my brother. >> Where's the Sorenson Center, Liam? >> Center is down. >> Come here. >> You guys see what happened? >> Wasing to talk about it on camera. Hey, how you doing? >> I'm okay. Kind of shocked. >> Definitely shocking. >> We're here at the Charlie Kirk Turning Point USA event. What uh can you tell me briefly what happened in your in your eyes? >> Well, my name's Eric. Uh I was standing about the third level back, so probably 50 feet from Charlie. Um, I heard a shot which took my attention away from Charlie. And when I looked back at him after I after the echoes, um, there was there was blood protruding from his neck or his head about six inches or more. Um, literally gushing out >> his neck. >> Neck or head. I'm not quite sure cuz his head was tilted back. I don't think he's going to survive this shot if you want my opinion. Unbelievable. >> I think he got hit in a very vital spot. >> It seemed like it was up close shooter or at long range. Any idea? >> I don't know. It sounded like a higher higher caliber. It sounded like a higher caliber, like a 9 mm. It didn't sound like a 45 or anything, but I don't know. It didn't sound that deep to me. >> It almost sounded like a cherry bomb. >> Um. >> Unbelievable. >> A gunshot. >> Wow. >> Wow. I'm in shock. >> I am too. I am too. I can't believe it happened in Utah of all places. >> Larry has so much support. But obviously the opposition was here >> and now we're looking at a murder scene possibly for obviously a crime scene, but I don't think that Charlie can survive this unless the EMTs were close. And it was it was pretty I mean rated our level kind of stuff. >> Yeah. Thank you. >> Thank you. You too. I was up on the balcony interviewing the love and tolerance crowd. >> You guys see what happened? >> Uh, not really. We kind of heard what happened, but we heard it. We were probably 20t away. Were you guys here to hear Charlie speak or? >> Uh yeah, we were. >> Well, prayers prayers to him. >> Well, well, what a coincidence that he was talking about gun violence and then all a sudden this happens. Like what the hell? >> Somebody else told me over there. >> Like like come on, bro. Like >> it's like what are the chances of this [__] happening to here, bro? Like >> it's scary. Like >> terrifying. >> Freak it freaks everyone out. Like it just ruins the whole experience for everyone. Like I don't know. Like come on, bro. >> Now they got this whole place on lock down. >> But scary stuff. >> Scary stuff. I'm glad glad no one else got hurt. Pray for Charlie. >> Yeah. Pray for Charlie. Thanks, guys. >> Organizer closer to Charlie's position said he was shot in the neck. >> We still don't know yet. >> I'm still Well, no. Here comes the shot. >> Did you guys see what happened? >> All right, everybody. You need to leave the area all the way up and all the way to the south or the north. Everybody >> leave this. Just going to put this right here. Do you want me to carry it? >> No. >> At this point, I don't know, but you can push the button in there. >> It's active crime scene. They're telling everybody to get out of here. We are going to comply. That did not come from up there. >> Um the police said it could have come from up on the roof, but they arrested a guy up down right in front of Charlie. So there might have been >> it could have been I'm not really sure. >> That would make more sense. >> Um yeah, I've been on the phone with John and I've been on so he's coming. We don't know. Guys, let's get out and go to the doorway, please. >> You're good. see what happened. >> Did you guys see what happened? >> Yes, I saw him. What's Are you recording this? >> Yes, you're live right now. Well, we're we're recording. I don't know if we're live because of the cell service. >> Hang on. >> I was standing in probably the third Okay. I was standing from probably the third row in the bottom. I saw him. I heard the shot ring out. I looked to my left and then I looked over to my right. I saw him slump over in his chair forward. He slumped over. He had blood coming from the left side of his neck down his shirt and he slumped over and he was carried off. >> Get off me. >> Running high right now. This guy says a man died today. This is unconfirmed. That's what this eyewitness testimony just said. >> Everybody's in shock, including myself. >> Where's your mama? courtyard sample. Okay, say that again. >> Okay, let's go. >> Um, let's go this. Let's just go with everybody else. Unbelievable. Somebody could be so offended by the words coming out of a guy's mouth. I mean, just unbelievable. Sad day today. Terrifying and sad what this has come to. Two protests in a row been shootings that absolutely ridiculous. Hello. >> These people running again. Are you sure they escorted us this way? >> Yes. The cops are showing up. Are you sure? They're asking what happened. >> How are you? >> Did you see what happened? >> No, >> I was pretty. >> The cops might tell you the other way. You definitely have my vote. Thank you so much. Apparently, it is an actual war that we're fighting. >> We follow you and I wrote you in >> your last name. >> Thank you so much. See what happened. She's driving over there. >> Walking. You have the keys. Sad day today. [Music] We here live at Utah Valley University the site of an unbelievable tragedy that just happened involving Charlie Kirk at the Turning Point USA event. Shots rang out. We got police running in still. There must be something going on for these cops to be running in like this. Campus is being evacuated. I don't know what's going on. We're trying to get to the vehicle. up this. Okay. Hold this. this. >> Okay, I'm just getting out of your way here. >> Sorry. >> Yes. Not here. Not from here. No. >> I heard they had a guy arrested. So then the cops just all were rushing back in that they were saying somebody one of the cops said there might be a guy on the roof. >> Oh, really? And then and then a bunch of them just came in and they just evacuated the building. So I saw a cop on that roof right over there. Drive safe, guys. Where's your mom? >> Hold that. over there. Whatever this building is right here are all over it. actively clearing this building, looking through every storage shed. Something's going down here. It's looking like this might have been a sniper outpost up here on this building possibly because that would be the only spot. The cops are up here. Searching every nook and cranny of this building. Trying to get out. See if we can get around. Where's your mom? Are you still with her? Okay. Um, we're have we're going to we're circling around the north side to go to my car. We'll meet you in the parking lot. Okay. What did I say? >> I'm not 100% sure. What's up, guys? Okay. Walk me. Carry this. I'm watching. I pull up your screen. Huh? What' you say? It says it ago. I'm I hear your voice. So I hear your testimony >> pointing that way on the camera. >> Well, there was no security. They let I bought I mean I got tickets and they didn't even take the tickets to get us in. They just let everybody in there. So there was no there was no no police, no no um security. >> I walked in with tripods sticking out of my backpack. No problem. Right through the door. >> I know. There was no no security at all. That's what makes me really mad. And I I looked at the ticket, got the tickets, and they didn't even take our tickets. >> See what happened? >> Yeah, we saw the whole thing. >> Please tell me what >> I just saw. We just saw him up there talking and then I heard the gunshot and then we saw him fall. You know what? It came out of my right. I was right in the center on the top level and it came out the right side. >> Here we have somebody worried about CO. Oh my god. [Music] We're heading your way. You sure? We're going to end the stream now. Fire back up.
