Students Rise Up Against Woke Indoctrination, Defend Free Speech After Charlie Kirk's Assassination

A powerful movement is unfolding across American schools and campuses as students peacefully push back against ideological indoctrination. From high schoolers demanding accountability for teachers who celebrated Charlie Kirk's murder to college students restoring vandalized memorials, young people are taking a stand for free speech and civil discourse. Turning Point USA chapter requests have exploded from 60,000 to over 120,000 inquiries following Kirk's assassination, putting the organization on track to establish a presence on every high school and college campus in America. Students are setting up debate tables, defending memorials, and refusing to be silenced, carrying forward a vision that proves movements cannot be stopped by violence.

Students Demand Teacher Accountability

Evidence has emerged of students rising up and peacefully pushing back against heavy-handed woke indoctrination across many schools and campuses. Three students approached their school board asking for a teacher to be fired after he made a post celebrating Charlie Kirk's murder. Students spoke up to say they didn't feel comfortable with their teacher celebrating a murder, demonstrating that teachers don't get to say whatever they want without repercussions, especially when it involves vile behavior that makes students uncomfortable.

One student addressed the school board directly: "We decided to come up and give our perspective on this subject considering it is our teacher and one of the people that will guide our futures. No matter what anyone says to me, I will never stand for violence, especially of a man who was publicly murdered in front of his wife, one of his children, thousands of students, and other bystanders. Charlie was not a racist. He did not hurt anyone sexually, and he did not kill anyone. Therefore, this was an unjustified cause of death that should never be celebrated. Charlie's children do not deserve to grow up without their father. Charlie's wife did not deserve to lose her husband. Charlie did not deserve to lose his life because of a different opinion. But this teacher deserves to lose his job."

Another student added: "As civilians and people of our great country, we hold ourselves to a higher standard than to support or worse yet rejoice in violence. Someone who advocated for an arrested murderer and assassinator of one of the greatest debaters and free speakers of our time should have no place in the classroom, more so around young children."

These open discussions and debates matter because there were plenty of speakers at the same meeting, including other teachers defending the teacher and saying he's allowed to say whatever he wants. That's why the power of speaking up for what you believe in matters.

Students Create Spaces for Open Dialogue

Cabot Phillips, a host from Morning Wire, posted something he witnessed in his hometown—a group of students setting up their own tables to encourage conversation. The table read: "Jesus is king. Ask us questions. Free Bibles, prayer," followed by a Bible verse. Students are simply setting up and having conversations about faith.

Similar scenes have unfolded on college campuses with students sitting at tables with signs saying "prove me wrong" on topics like "there are two genders"—the same approach Charlie used to use. These students are taking up the torch and trying it on their own campuses.

Unfortunately, many people setting up these tables to have open discussions have been harassed by students on campus to the point that they have to pack up and leave. This harassment happened at a school in Tennessee, highlighting what's wrong with the current campus climate.

Memorials Vandalized, Then Restored

Beautiful memorials created in Charlie's honor have been vandalized by some students, highlighting a key difference in how the two sides approach disagreement. At UNC Wilmington, a woman painted a beautiful memorial for Charlie that read: "If you believe in something, you need to have the courage to fight for those ideas, not run away from them and try and silence them." - Charlie Kirk. It was a beautiful, non-controversial memorial with absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Within approximately one day, the memorial was defaced with paint in the colors of the trans flag—light pink, light blue, and white. UNC Wilmington refused to act after leftists defaced the Rock Memorial for Charlie Kirk and harassed conservative students who tried to intervene. Conservative students initially tried to stop the vandalism, but these students pushed them out of the way. Eventually the conservative students stepped back and the vandals destroyed the memorial.

Video footage captured a girl sludging blue paint all over the quote. It's symbolic of the problem that needs to be fixed—breaking brainwashed students out of their ignorance. These students don't even know who Charlie is or what he stood for; they're vandalizing memorials out of pure ignorance.

The girl vandalizing the memorial claimed: "I'm fully religious, too. I know, but Kirk is definitely not the morals I support. I support where you're just taught to love your neighbor." She doesn't even know what Charlie ever said. Watching the brainwashing in real time is truly phenomenal. As she does something horribly disrespectful, she claims he's "just a racist and a homophobe."

It's wild to see how she fully believes she is totally in the right and that it's totally okay to be fully on camera and totally exposed doing this. She even apologized for stepping on flags at the memorial stuck in the ground while simultaneously pouring paint over the entire memorial that also covers the flags. Nothing clicks. Nothing makes sense.

She acknowledged: "All my friends at Chapel Hill are going to be like, 'She's iconic.'" Well, she certainly became iconic for all the wrong reasons on the internet.

Questions remain about where school law enforcement was during these incidents. Why can't a memorial be created and protected? Why is that not a thing? These memorials keep being ruined and then people come back and fix them.

But students continue to fight back. They are restoring these vandalized memorials after they're destroyed. Video footage shows students who came back to restore a memorial they had made—the slow effort of trying to clean up this country, clean up the mess that continues to be made, trying to find goodness and make it good again.

Beautiful Tributes and Lasting Legacies

The UVU campus where Charlie was assassinated now features extensive memorial sites. Students on the right memorialize someone who has been lost with beauty and peace, not by vandalizing anything.

LSU announced a lecture series honoring Charlie Kirk to promote free speech. New College of Florida made an even bolder statement: "Today we announced that we will commission a statue of Charlie Kirk to honor his legacy and incredible work after his tragic assassination. The statue, privately funded by community leaders, will stand on campus as a commitment by New College to defend and fight for free speech and civil discourse in American life. The location for the statue will be announced in the coming months."

The mockup of the statue is beautiful and perfectly emblematic of exactly what Charlie did and where he did that work—an open table, open conversation, open posture. It shows how historic this is and what he has done for this culture and society will be seen for generations to come. They will look back and hear the name and see him and remember what he stood for: open debate and free speech.

Students Demand Turning Point Chapters

Students are standing up and demanding that they be allowed to have Turning Point chapters at their high schools and colleges. High school students specifically are demanding to be able to start TPUSA chapters at their schools.

One student explained: "Charlie encouraged me to start a chapter at my high school. Unfortunately, school administrators have not approved the chapter yet. We've tried multiple times. This year at Glen Brook North, unfortunately they're not approved. Dr. Michael Taran, director of student activities, has denied our right to free speech. Email him. We need to start a chapter. We need to spread this movement. We have to recognize that. We have to continue his movement. And we have to make it even bigger and even stronger."

Another student added: "I tried to get Turning Point USA approved at Glen Brook North last year with my friend Nate. They denied us. You know what club they allow? Students Demand Action. They said our club already exists, but it didn't. It was a news club. That is nowhere near turning point. We need to get clubs approved at every high school around the nation. We must continue this fight."

The students enthusiastically shared Dr. Taran's email information, demonstrating the energy and determination of high school students in the purest best way.

Turning Point USA Experiences Massive Surge

Turning Point's campus stops are back. They started on September 22nd with Michael Knowles hosting. It was phenomenal with a packed house, and the team at Turning Point is going nonstop. Erika Kirk has been appointed as the new CEO and chair of the board for Turning Point USA, and new chapter requests have exploded beyond comprehension.

Andrew Kolvet, who was Charlie's executive producer and works at Turning Point, provided a huge update: "After Sunday's memorial service for Charlie, TPUSA received a massive surge of inquiries to start new chapters. Pre-Sunday, we had around 60,000 inquiries, which is already a huge amount. Post-Sunday, we are now at over 120,000 inquiries. Even accounting for attrition and duplicates, we are on the cusp of having a TPUSA or Club America chapter in every high school and college campus in America."

That was Charlie's dream. That was his vision.

One woman responded: "The media tried to shame a movement into silence. Instead, they sparked the biggest youth political surge in modern history. 120,000 plus inquiries, a chapter on every campus. Charlie's name is being carried like a flag. This isn't a retreat. This is the uprising."

Let this peaceful, faith-filled, facts-focused uprising grow. Kids are the most powerful because their voice will be heard for decades and decades to come. Watch out to those who thought silencing a leader would silence a movement. History will prove them wrong.
