[00:00] It is a dark day for America. The great

[00:02] and legendary Charlie Kirk is dead. That

[00:05] is how President Donald Trump described

[00:08] conservative father and husband Charlie

[00:10] Kirk, who was assassinated today at a

[00:13] rally in Utah. Now, this should be a

[00:15] moment every reasonable person agrees is

[00:18] wrong and horrific. But I was stunned

[00:21] and disgusted to see some of the media

[00:23] coverage in the wake of this murder

[00:26] >> environment um in which a shooting like

[00:28] this happens.

[00:31] >> Yeah. And again emphasize what you just

[00:32] emphasized. We don't know any full

[00:34] details of this that we don't know if

[00:36] this was a supporter shooting their gun

[00:38] off in celebration or so we have no idea

[00:40] about this.

[00:42] >> The assassination was a supporter firing

[00:45] a gun off in celebration. They actually

[00:48] put that to air. The shooting was at

[00:50] 12:20 p.m. Charlie was hit directly in

[00:53] the neck, and I've watched the video

[00:55] because I have to report on it, but I do

[00:57] not encourage anyone to see it. For

[00:59] so-called journalists to publish an

[01:01] assertion that this shot, which was from

[01:04] around 200 y away, which is about 180 m,

[01:07] to publish the assertion that it was an

[01:10] innocent mistake of a supporter is quite

[01:13] frankly insane. It is willfully false.

[01:16] And that clip isn't even the worst of

[01:18] the media's coverage. While showing

[01:20] footage of people running from gunshots,

[01:22] MSNBC thought it appropriate to provide

[01:25] context. They called him divisive at a

[01:28] time while he was dying from his wounds.

[01:32] >> By the way, our affiliate in Utah um uh

[01:34] and the aftermath of the shooting, uh

[01:37] you could see people running away pretty

[01:38] quickly as as you would imagine they

[01:40] would do um at gunshots. Uh the FBI

[01:43] director, Cash Patel, uh has um weighed

[01:46] in on this. He just tweeted the

[01:48] following. We're closely monitoring

[01:49] reports of the tragic shooting involving

[01:51] Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.

[01:54] Our thoughts are with Charlie, his loved

[01:56] ones, and everyone affected. Agents will

[01:58] be on the scene quickly, and the FBI

[02:00] stands in full support of the ongoing

[02:02] response and the investigation. Um

[02:05] Charlie Kirk is a divisive figure. Um

[02:07] polarizing, lightning rod, whatever term

[02:09] you want to use. Why?

[02:11] Uh well, he's one of MAGA's most

[02:14] prominent voices online. He hosts a near

[02:16] daily podcast. He opines on almost

[02:19] everything. He's been very closely

[02:20] aligned with the president uh since his

[02:22] initial run for office in 2015 2016. And

[02:25] his ties to Trump really elevated his

[02:27] own brand. Um he was really quite young

[02:30] as an activist when the president

[02:32] launched his initial campaign and he has

[02:34] kind of ridden along with MAGA um since

[02:36] 2016 and built up a massive massive

[02:39] brand of his own. uh his his group has

[02:42] brought in tons and tons of money.

[02:45] >> And of course, there have been countless

[02:47] Democrat party supporters tweeting out

[02:50] awful things, effectively saying that he

[02:52] deserved it. Now, you would expect this

[02:54] from nut jobs on the internet. But what

[02:57] about proper newsrooms? The BBC put the

[03:00] words great guy in quote marks here.

[03:02] Teen Vogue described him as far right.

[03:06] And look at this insane intro from the

[03:08] New York Times. You would think that the

[03:10] so-called paper of record could simply

[03:12] just report Charlie's death. No, they

[03:14] had to characterize him first. Charlie

[03:17] Kirk, a conservative wonderkind who

[03:20] through his radio show, books, political

[03:22] organization and speaking tours did much

[03:25] to shape the hard right movement that

[03:28] has coalesed around President Trump

[03:32] becoming a close ally of his. Now, keep

[03:34] in mind we're about 35 words in at this

[03:38] point before they get to the actual

[03:39] story that he died on Wednesday in Utah

[03:42] after he'd been shot while speaking at a

[03:44] college campus event. Disgraceful stuff.

[03:47] And then we have Tik Tockers, cretins,

[03:49] who delight in misery and openly wish

[03:52] death on those who have different

[03:53] political views.

[03:55] [Music]

[04:02] [Applause]

[04:03] I'm not saying she deserve a dick, but

[04:05] I'm saying God's timing is always right.

[04:09] [Music]

[04:18] will turn to independent journalists at

[04:20] a time like this to just get a normal

[04:23] and reasonable view of what happened.

[04:26] And a credit to Megan Kelly who covered

[04:28] the news with grace and emotion.

[04:31] They're reporting that Charlie has died,

[04:35] [Applause]

[04:36] that he's dead

[04:39] at the age of 31,

[04:46] which he would have to be if that video

[04:48] was real.

[04:49] [Music]

[04:50] There's no way he survived that. There's

[04:53] no way.

[04:56] The only good thing is

[05:01] It had to have happened quickly.

[05:05] >> Right. Right.
