Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation where a person is made to doubt their own reality, memory, or perceptions through persistent lying and distortion of information. This abuse is used to gain power and control, and it can cause the victim to become dependent on the abuser. The term comes from the 1938 play and 1944 film Gaslight, where a husband manipulates his wife into believing she is going insane.
Another example is a liberal and the main stream media. You just need to look at the Trump Derangement Syndrome around the world to see the affects. You either have TDS, or you see the daily Gaslighting that fuels the derangement.
