Charlie Kirk Tosses Caps to the Crowd Moments Before the Shooting
Eyewitness footage credited to Phil Lyman, with location and date verified by the original file's metadata, shows Charlie Kirk tossing caps into the crowd at Utah Valley University, with attendees cheering and reaching to catch them.
"Right here, sir, right here," one attendee can be heard calling out as Kirk tosses another cap their way, with the crowd applauding and cheering between throws.
Panic and Prayer in the Aftermath
As the footage continues, the celebratory mood gives way to chaos following the gunfire that killed Kirk, with people fleeing the scene. Amid the panic, a bystander can be heard reciting the Hail Mary.
"Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen," the bystander prays.
"God Bless America... Fight On"
The footage also captures Kirk addressing the crowd shortly before the shooting, closing his remarks with a blessing for the country and a call to keep going.
"God bless America, my home sweet home. God bless you all, and fight on. Thank you so much," Kirk tells the crowd to applause.
