Benjamin Netanyahu Defends Charlie Kirk Against False Rumors Surrounding His Death and Israel

Benjamin Netanyahu addresses fabricated claims linking Israel to Charlie Kirk's death, calling them monstrous lies. The Israeli leader honors Kirk's memory, sharing personal correspondence that revealed Kirk's passion for defending Israel and Judeo-Christian civilization. Netanyahu recounts how Kirk wrote to him expressing that advocating for Israel was one of his greatest joys as a Christian, and how Kirk encouraged him to explain Israel's importance to American national security. This tribute pushes back against conspiracy theories while celebrating Kirk's character and his unwavering support for the U.S.-Israel alliance.

Addressing False Claims

Benjamin Netanyahu opened his remarks by invoking Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi propaganda minister, who infamously said that the bigger the lie, the faster it will spread. Netanyahu applied this observation to what he called a "monstrous big lie" - fabricated claims that Israel had something to do with Charlie Kirk's death. He denounced these rumors as insane, false, and outrageous.

Honoring Charlie Kirk's Legacy

Netanyahu described Charlie Kirk as "a giant, a once-in-a-century talent who defended freedom, defended America, defended our common Judeo-Christian civilization." He emphasized that Kirk loved Israel and the Jewish people, sharing that Kirk had communicated these feelings directly to him.

Personal Correspondence Reveals Kirk's Heart for Israel

Netanyahu shared details from a letter Kirk sent him just a few months before his death. In that correspondence, Kirk wrote: "One of my greatest joys as a Christian is advocating for Israel and forming alliances with Jews to protect Judeo-Christian civilization." Kirk had encouraged Netanyahu to make the case directly to the American people about how vital Israel is to U.S. national security. Kirk also told him, "The Holy Land is so important to my life, it pains me to see support for Israel slip away."

Welcoming Disagreement as Freedom

Netanyahu acknowledged that Kirk sometimes disagreed with his policies or decisions, but stated that he not only didn't mind, he welcomed it. He described this as "the essence of Charlie" and "the essence of a free country" - exactly what Kirk stood for. Netanyahu knew that Kirk's suggestions always came from the heart, from his love for Israel and the Jewish people.

A Final Invitation

A few weeks before his death, Netanyahu spoke to Kirk and invited him to visit Israel again. Sadly, Netanyahu noted, that visit will never happen.

Condemning Those Spreading Rumors

Netanyahu addressed those spreading what he called "disgusting rumors," suggesting they might be motivated by obsession or perhaps Qatari funding. Regardless of their motivation, he insisted that Charlie Kirk was a great man who deserves honor, not lies.

Netanyahu concluded his tribute with: "Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk. May your memory be a blessing."
