[00:28] convention or someone on the left

[00:29] they're gonna talk about health care

[00:30] inequality inflation uh growth but you

[00:33] guys all seen a lot of talk about is how

[00:35] the left does this or the left does that

[00:37] but no policies on how to fix anything

[00:39] so I guess that kind of goes with my

[00:41] first question is what is the gop's

[00:42] actual position when it comes to fixing

[00:44] inflation well let me look a couple

[00:47] nor am I aspiring to be one number two

[01:13] think that vital products should be made

[01:15] in America not in China and we should

[01:17] use tariffs and sanctions to get it done

[01:20] vitamin C penicillin critical

[01:22] infrastructure should be manufactured

[01:24] here I think American college graduates

[01:26] should be given preference to go work

[01:27] for American companies above foreign

[01:29] workers and that means reform in the

[01:31] H-1B system and actually giving you the

[01:33] American college educated kids a

[01:35] preference because we have a moral

[01:36] obligation to our own citizens over the

[01:39] citizens of another country I think we

[01:41] should fully close the United States

[01:42] Southern border I think we should not

[01:44] allow illegal I just want to interrupt

[01:46] you sorry you were saying you're for a

[01:47] government program that puts American

[01:49] college students like you know reforming

[01:51] the immigration system right so that big

[01:53] companies like Facebook don't do

[01:55] quasi-indentured servitude to bring

[01:57] foreign workers in and be able to

[01:59] complete the government that'll be a

[02:00] government program that would do that

[02:01] well yeah the government program

[02:02] actually already exists okay so you're

[02:04] actually conservative who's for

[02:05] increasing the government size not for

[02:06] you well no I want a small but strong

[02:07] government so I want things that are

[02:09] smart for example I'd love that more

[02:11] border patrol agents and less IRS agents

[02:13] so where it makes sense to increase the

[02:15] volume of government agents as long as

[02:17] it is pursuing a couple things that are

[02:18] core to My Philosophy a strong country

[02:21] that has borders sovereignty culture and

[02:23] maintains a moral commitment to its

[02:26] citizens that you should be able to work

[02:27] hard play by the rules be able to have a

[02:29] family own a home and see Rising income

[02:32] and wages those are very basic things in

[02:34] a social contract Why is the increasing

[02:36] IRS agents which are taxes that belong

[02:38] to us they help pay for things like

[02:39] roads GPS infrastructure basic things

[02:42] that you and yourself need to get here

[02:43] yeah why would that be against why would

[02:45] that be so bad having everyone pay their

[02:46] fair share of taxes so we can have a

[02:48] government that functions correctly well

[02:49] obviously government does work for

[02:50] everything but we all benefit from

[02:51] government services every day I'm sorry

[02:53] no one in this room is going to benefit

[02:55] from 87 000 new IRS agents and so those

[02:57] 87 000 new IRS agents are going to be

[03:00] deployed against small business owners

[03:02] but I could keep on going with policy

[03:03] examples I can keep on building it out

[03:05] but let me just say this I love markets

[03:07] but I'm willing to critique markets when

[03:09] I think they're not serving people and

[03:11] they're not serving the nation I think

[03:13] are over indulgence in free trade

[03:15] fanaticism has been a major mistake over

[03:18] the last 20 or 30 years I don't worship

[03:20] corporations but I do think that

[03:22] entrepreneurs and private property

[03:24] rights and people taking risks are a

[03:26] general good for society and not only

[03:28] does history show this but Common Sense

[03:30] logic and you know material reality

[03:33] shows all this I can give you more and

[03:34] more examples if you want policy stuff

[03:36] that's less actually interesting the

[03:38] reason I don't go through policy stuff

[03:46] can build out a world view

[03:49] that you can agree with then the policy

[03:54] you understand morals and values then

[04:02] government does is a lot more important
