Well, this is certainly not going to be
word perfect.
I think I feel probably like a lot of
you do now in trying to make sense of of
what's happened,
trying to make sense of
of the murder of Charlie Kirk.
He was unique
and not because he said what he
believed,
but because he had a willingness
to be challenged on it
in person
repeatedly
and whether you agreed with everything
he said or you didn't, I certainly
didn't. In fact, I don't think anyone in
the world agrees with every single thing
that anyone says.
The courage he had to stand by it and
engage in civil debate
is unrivaled.
I'm trying to figure out why this feels
so much bigger than
than the utter tragedy of a a loss of
life of a father, of a a wife, of a son.
This will shift
so many things in so many ways
if we let it.
If we let it.
This is not
the time to cower.
This is the time to get louder,
to fight harder,
to stand up straighter,
to be braver, to have more courage,
to say what you think. Stop hiding.
You won't have his platform. None of us
do.
But have his courage.
You might have five followers. Say it to
them. Fight for what matters to you, to
them, to a colleague at work, to your
partner.
The greatest gift you can give him and
the greatest way you can honor his
legacy is to be true to yourself
and to stand up for what you believe in.
Even if it's scary,
even if it's dangerous,
even if it makes you shake,
this is the time
to go harder.
I'm heartbroken for his family,
for all our colleagues at at Salem,
for everyone in the world who
who cares deeply about
what they believe in.
and who will feel this loss immensely.
Love you all and we'll speak soon.
