Donald Trump Works McDonald's Drive-Through, Serves Fries and Claims More Experience Than Kamala Harris
Donald Trump spent 15 minutes working the drive-through at a McDonald's location, serving French fries and greeting supporters in what he framed as a direct response to Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump claimed Harris never actually worked at McDonald's despite her statements to the contrary, saying he now has more McDonald's experience than she does. The event drew massive crowds of supporters and turned into a campaign moment highlighting both his connection with ordinary Americans and his critique of his political opponent.
Donald Trump stepped behind the counter at a McDonald's location to work the drive-through, learning how to prepare and bag French fries under the guidance of a 10-year employee named Jo. The former president quickly got into the rhythm of the job, filling bags with medium fries and handing orders directly to surprised and delighted customers through the drive-through window.
Trump greeted families, complimented children, and told multiple customers that their orders were compliments of Trump, with the campaign apparently covering the costs. The interactions were warm and personal, with Trump calling customers "beautiful," "good looking," and engaging in brief conversations about their families and their support for his campaign.
The Kamala Harris Comparison
Throughout the event and in his remarks to the press, Trump repeatedly emphasized that he had now worked at McDonald's longer than Vice President Kamala Harris. "I have worked at McDonald's. I've now worked for 15 minutes more than Kamala," Trump stated. He claimed that Harris never actually worked at the fast-food chain despite her public statements suggesting she had, alleging that "McDonald's confirmed four times now she never worked."
When asked by reporters why he was doing this, Trump responded directly: "I'm going to say why because she's lying. That's why. Why would she lie? She shouldn't lie about it." The event was clearly designed as both a campaign photo opportunity and a pointed criticism of his political opponent's credibility.
Massive Crowd Support
The event drew thousands of supporters who lined up for what Trump described as a chance for "ordinary people" to meet him. Trump repeatedly pointed out the size of the crowd to reporters, noting that people stretched back for miles. The enthusiasm was palpable, with supporters thanking him, asking for prayers, and expressing their support.
One supporter told Trump, "You made it possible for ordinary people like us to meet," to which Trump responded warmly. Another customer, identifying herself as from Brazil, asked Trump not to let the United States become like her native country, and Trump assured her, "We'll keep it good. We're going to make it better than ever."
Trump's Message and Reflections
Speaking to the press present at the event, Trump expressed genuine enjoyment of the experience. "This is fun. I could do this all day. I wouldn't mind this job. I like this job. I think I might come back and do it again," he said while working the fries station.
Trump praised McDonald's as "a great franchise" and "a great company," thanking them for being "very very nice" in allowing him to do this. He connected the event to his broader campaign message: "Look at the crowd over there. Look how happy everybody is. They're happy because they want hope, they need hope, and that's what we're doing. That's what we're going to give, much more than hope. We're going to take hope and make it fact."
The former president concluded with his signature campaign promise: "It's an amazing business, it's an amazing country, and we're going to make America greater than ever before."
