[00:31] well it may not be a surprise that I

[00:33] actually had a very different speech

[00:35] that I was prepared to give up here

[00:39] tonight that all changed at 6:11 on

[00:43] Saturday

[00:45] evening nothing prepares you for a

[00:48] moment like that our family has faced

[00:51] our fair share of death threats

[00:54] mysterious powders sent to our homes

[00:57] tasteless and violent comments directed

[00:59] towards us on social media but none of

[01:02] that prepares you as a

[01:05] daughter-in-law to watch in real time

[01:09] someone tried to kill a person you

[01:12] love none of that prepares you as a

[01:15] mother to quickly reach for the remote

[01:17] and turn your young children away from

[01:19] the screen so that they're not witness

[01:21] to something that scars the memory of

[01:24] their grandpa for the rest of their

[01:27] lives the prayers and well wishes we've

[01:31] received over the last 72 hours have

[01:33] been overwhelming to say the

[01:42] least and my heart goes out to the

[01:44] family who lost a husband and a father

[01:47] because of this senseless

[01:49] act all of you here tonight and watching

[01:52] at home mean the world to all of us in

[01:56] the Trump family

[02:03] if Donald Trump has shown us anything

[02:05] it's that when it feels impossible to

[02:08] keep going those are the times we must

[02:12] keep

[02:18] going I don't know how many people here

[02:21] watching at home have ever been to a

[02:23] trump rally but if you've never been let

[02:25] me tell you about them oh some of you

[02:27] have

[02:28] been oh

[02:35] regardless of how the media have painted

[02:37] these rallies you would be hard pressed

[02:40] to find and to join a happier group of

[02:43] people coming together over their love

[02:46] for the greatest country on Earth the

[02:49] United States of

[02:58] America I dare anyone trying to leave a

[03:02] trump rally without leaving with some

[03:05] new friends you always make friends out

[03:06] a trump rally

[03:08] right veterans teachers blue collar

[03:11] workers white collar workers active duty

[03:14] military police officers firefighters

[03:17] small business owners Latino supporters

[03:20] Christian supporters Jewish supporters

[03:22] black supporters white supporters Asian

[03:24] supporters gay supporters Republicans

[03:28] Independents and yes even

[03:36] Democrats at a trump rally you're not

[03:39] viewed as your profession your religion

[03:41] or the color of your skin you're viewed

[03:45] as one thing an

[03:55] American last Saturday was a jarring

[03:57] reminder that we as Americans must

[04:01] always remember there is more that

[04:04] unites us than divides

[04:09] us we all want this country to be great

[04:13] even if we don't always agree on the

[04:15] best way of doing that and with every

[04:18] bone in my body I can tell you that all

[04:20] Donald Trump wants to do and has ever

[04:23] wanted to do is make this country great

[04:26] again for all of us

[04:35] Proverbs 28 reads the wicked flee though

[04:39] no one pursues but the righteous are as

[04:42] bold as a

[04:48] lion and that truly epitomizes Donald

[04:52] Trump he is a lion

[05:01] he is bold he is strong he is fearless

[05:04] and he is exactly what this country

[05:07] needs right

[05:14] now let's not forget what life actually

[05:17] looked like under President Donald Trump

[05:20] trade deals across the world that

[05:22] benefited our economy Allied countries

[05:25] paying their fair share

[05:30] a safe and secure Southern

[05:34] border record low unemployment rates for

[05:38] African-Americans Hispanic Americans

[05:40] Asian Americans and women record

[05:43] investment in historically black

[05:45] colleges and

[05:46] universities the creation of the United

[05:50] States space

[05:55] force the most comprehensive prison

[05:58] reform in decades

[06:00] how about the peace agreements in the

[06:02] Middle East that they said would never

[06:11] happen the largest tax cuts in American

[06:14] history our energy

[06:19] Independence massive amounts of red tape

[06:22] cut and no new Wars When Donald J Trump

[06:27] was president

[06:35] maybe most importantly though you could

[06:39] actually feel it in your everyday life

[06:42] now you didn't have to love everything

[06:44] that he tweeted but you cannot deny you

[06:47] were better off when Donald Trump was in

[06:54] office Americans were finally able to

[06:57] start saving money home prices were

[06:59] affordable and gas hit a low of

[07:02] a187 a

[07:09] gallon as I speak here tonight many of

[07:11] our fellow Americans don't know how

[07:14] they'll pay for their next trip to the

[07:16] grocery store new clothes for their

[07:18] children or this month's rent many of

[07:22] our fellow Americans worry that we are

[07:23] on the verge of a major terror attack

[07:26] here on American soil many of our fellow

[07:30] Americans don't think their own children

[07:32] will be able to establish a better life

[07:35] than they themselves currently have many

[07:38] of our fellow Americans are right now

[07:40] sitting and wondering how on Earth this

[07:42] country could have moved in the wrong

[07:45] direction and so

[07:47] quickly the Democrats and the media know

[07:51] that they cannot convince you the

[07:53] American people that your life is better

[07:55] off now because it's not so what what

[07:59] will they do they'll try to sell you on

[08:01] some outrageous narrative about the

[08:03] Terrible Things That Donald Trump will

[08:05] do if he becomes president but you don't

[08:08] have to imagine what it would be like

[08:11] all you have to do is remember what it

[08:13] was

[08:22] like I

[08:24] know oh yeah

[08:39] I know what you hear out there about

[08:41] Donald Trump I know what you read what

[08:43] the media tells you and what out of

[08:45] touch celebrities on the left say about

[08:49] man but when I look at Donald Trump I

[08:52] see a wonderful father father-in-law and

[08:55] of course grandfather to my two young

[08:58] children Luke and

[09:07] Carolina I know that I'm lucky enough to

[09:09] get to call him my father-in-law and see

[09:12] him a little differently than all of you

[09:15] but it's through that lens that I

[09:17] sometimes wish more people could see him

[09:20] this is a man who has sacrificed for his

[09:23] family and a man who has truly

[09:27] sacrificed for his country

[09:38] Donald Trump didn't need to run for

[09:40] president for fame or money trust me we

[09:42] all know he already had plenty of

[09:45] that I'll tell you why he did it and why

[09:48] he continues on even in the face of the

[09:53] unthinkable because he loves this

[09:57] country

[10:29] children and grandchildren and for the

[10:31] generations to come I have seen this man

[10:36] dragged through hell and back in and out

[10:38] of courtrooms indictments impeachments

[10:41] mug shots and even an assassination

[10:45] attempt and yet he has never backed down

[11:36] children run up to him with their

[11:38] drawings and hugs for grandpa just

[11:41] moments before he took the elevator down

[11:44] in Trump Tower to address the media the

[11:47] day after his wrongful

[11:49] conviction despite everything else he

[11:52] had going on he had no other focus in

[11:55] the entire world just a man relishing

[11:58] time with his

[11:59] grandchildren it's a side of Donald

[12:02] Trump that not enough people get to

[12:04] see maybe you got to see a side of

[12:07] Donald Trump on Saturday that you were

[12:10] not sure existed until you saw it with

[12:13] your own eyes Martin Luther King Jr once

[12:16] famously said the ultimate measure of a

[12:20] man is not when he where he stands in

[12:22] moments of convenience and comfort but

[12:25] where he stands at times of Challenge

[12:28] and cont

[12:36] y there's no doubt that Saturday was one

[12:41] of the most frightening moments of my

[12:43] father-in-law's life millimeters

[12:47] separated him from life and certain

[12:50] death and yet it was in the midst of it

[12:53] all as he was jostled off stage by

[12:56] secret service that he knew how defining

[13:00] that moment would be for our country and

[13:02] he hoisted his fist in the

[13:24] air it was not just for the audience at

[13:27] the rally not just just for his

[13:29] supporters tuning in but for all of

[13:33] America and as a signal to the world

[13:35] that no matter what America will always

[13:45] Prevail though it's been strained and

[13:47] attacked no Enemy No Force not even a

[13:50] bullet is strong enough to break our

[13:52] American grit and our American soul

[13:59] we are the country whose Founders gave

[14:01] their fortunes freedom and lives to

[14:04] pursue the dream of a free Society we

[14:07] are the country of Thomas Edison Susan

[14:09] banthony Henry Ford and Harriet

[14:12] Tubman we are the country who fought and

[14:15] won two world

[14:21] wars and we are the country who always

[14:24] Rises to meet the moment no matter how

[14:27] insurmountable the task

[14:29] and in that Split Second on Saturday

[14:32] Donald Trump reminded us all of that

[14:35] very history and who we are at our core

[14:39] as a nation that is the Donald Trump

[14:42] that I

[14:51] know he is an American an American who

[14:55] conquered the business World an American

[14:57] who made himself a household name an

[15:01] American who was beloved by politicians

[15:03] and fellow celebrities for decades until

[15:06] he ran for office with an R next to his

[15:11] name an American whom even Barack Obama

[15:15] admits people consider the American

[15:21] dream and instead of sailing off into

[15:24] the sunset after an illustrious real

[15:26] estate and television career he decided

[15:29] to give back he decided to bring some of

[15:31] the things that had made him so

[15:33] successful in life to all of you in

[15:36] order to improve the lives of all

[15:39] Americans black white Brown gay straight

[15:42] all Americans because that's the man

[15:45] that Donald Trump

[15:55] is I can tell you that my personal

[15:57] experience with Donald Trump has shown

[16:00] me his heart there wasn't a second that

[16:02] he made this small town girl who was way

[16:05] out of her element in New York City feel

[16:08] anything but welcomed and part of the

[16:11] family and if not for the support and

[16:13] encouragement of my

[16:15] father-in-law I wouldn't be where I am

[16:17] today it's been said by many that Donald

[16:20] Trump sees things in people that they

[16:22] don't even recognize in

[16:25] themselves in 2016 when he asked me to

[16:27] help him win my home state of North

[16:34] Carolina I'll be honest I was

[16:37] terrified I had no idea how I would make

[16:40] it happen but he knew I would and I did

[16:45] when I was given an opportunity to join

[16:47] a television network as a commentator it

[16:50] was the push and support of my

[16:51] father-in-law that gave me the

[16:53] confidence to take that job always the

[16:56] first one to call or text me after a TV

[16:58] hit and tell me great job keep

[17:10] called and asked me to be the co-chair

[17:12] of our

[17:20] party he showed me potential in myself

[17:24] that I couldn't yet

[17:26] see so tonight to my

[17:42] resilience thank you for continuing

[17:45] on thank you for raising wonderful

[17:49] kids thank you for being an amazing

[17:52] grandfather thank you for never giving

[17:55] up on me and thank you for never giving

[18:31] RNC not as the daughter-in-law of the

[18:34] candidate tonight I come to you as a mom

[18:38] and as a citizen of this country for

[18:43] voted for Donald Trump I know what the

[18:45] media and his political opponents have

[18:47] tried to tell you about this man believe

[18:50] me I have seen and heard it all but I

[18:53] have also seen the truth I am proud to

[18:57] know Donald Trump to campaign for him to

[19:00] vote for him and to raise his

[19:10] grandchildren he will do what is

[19:12] necessary to protect you protect your

[19:15] family and protect this country because

[19:18] Donald Trump wants us all to be

[19:21] successful to be safe to be happy to be

[19:24] strong and to be great again

[19:35] tonight I'm asking you to vote not for

[19:38] the Donald Trump you see flashed on your

[19:40] TV every day splashed across the

[19:42] headlines tonight I'm asking you to vote
