Over 100,000 Expected at Charlie Kirk Memorial Service at State Farm Stadium in Glendale

[00:01] but again, thousands are expected to be

[00:03] in attendance for this memorial. Uh

[00:05] 63,000 inside the stadium and hundred

[00:08] just on the property to show their

[00:10] support. But this really is an event of

[00:12] scale, which means a lot goes into it

[00:15] with a big price tag. Wednesday, empty

[00:18] parking lots devoid of people at State

[00:20] Farm Stadium. But in just a few days,

[00:23] Glendale police saying they expect over

[00:26] 100,000 people on the property with

[00:29] 63,000 of them packed inside, saying

[00:32] goodbye to conservative political

[00:34] activist Charlie Kirk.

[00:38] President Donald Trump telling reporters

[00:39] this week he and others will fly from

[00:42] Washington to Phoenix to attend the

[00:44] service. And Arizona's family learning

[00:47] from special agent William Mack that US

[00:49] Secret Service is already on the ground

[00:52] in the valley working side by side with

[00:55] state, local, and federal partners.

[00:57] Glendo police echoing security measures,

[01:00] saying they will have a heavy presence

[01:02] of uniform police officers and 5,000

[01:05] security cameras in the area around the

[01:08] State Farm Stadium, working alongside

[01:10] other law enforcement partners in the

[01:12] valley. many other layers of security on

[01:16] top of what is already existing there.

[01:18] Carl Degera, an international security

[01:20] consultant, says State Farm Stadium

[01:23] already has robust security measures,

[01:25] but they will certainly be heightened,

[01:28] adding those measures will extend miles

[01:30] from the stadium.

[01:32] Increased law enforcement presence as

[01:33] you get closer. Of course, you're going

[01:35] to see Secret Service there and uh a

[01:37] multitude of other uh other security uh

[01:41] protocols in place. Some you're going to

[01:43] be able to notice and some you won't see

[01:44] at all.

[01:45] Police say expect major road closures

[01:48] around the valley, but they are unsure

[01:50] exactly where and when. They say there

[01:53] will be heavy traffic as guests are

[01:55] expected to fly in and out for the

[01:57] memorial.

[01:58] The security for this and the security

[02:01] awareness for this is compounded because

[02:04] of the nature of why we're there. Um

[02:07] this the the root of this is the

[02:10] assassination that occurred only a few

[02:12] days ago.

[02:13] For now, the stadium mostly empty. With

[02:16] anticipation growing, Sunday is expected

[02:18] to be quite a turnout.

[02:21] And right now, police are asking people

[02:23] in the valley for patience and for grace

[02:26] because there will be delays. And as for

[02:28] this price tag, we don't know exactly

[02:30] how much this event will cost. But based

[02:32] on previous events, it could run up to

[02:34] the seven digits. But who's paying for

[02:37] it? Turning Point USA says they will

[02:39] they will pick up that bill for both the

[02:40] venue and also security.
