Young Conservative Women Find Their Voice Through Erika Kirk

Young conservative women across America are finding inspiration in an unexpected leader. As one attendee expressed, "She's definitely the biggest female conservative role model for me right now. She's beautiful. She's smart. She's so reverent and humble and I think exactly the kind of leader that most young conservative women want to be."

The LA Times has reported that women are joining Turning Point USA in record numbers, and the statistics from AmericaFest prove the trend. According to Erika Kirk, women dominated attendance at the event, making up 54% of all attendees. Additionally, one-third of attendees were students, 80% were first-timers, and all 50 states plus Puerto Rico were represented, along with 25 countries worldwide.

Erika's challenge to the crowd was simple but powerful: "Don't just attend AmFest. Let it mark you. Let it stretch you. Let it be another turning point in your life."

The Memorial Service That Changed Everything

Riley Gaines, host at Outkick.com, reflects on the moment that defined Erika Kirk's leadership. "Look, in listening to Erika's speech, first let's go back to the memorial service. What we saw from Erika Kirk standing in front of tens of thousands who were there in person and where this video would play to millions streaming on the internet—how she forgave her husband's assassin. You have to imagine this was the hardest moment of her life."

Gaines continues, "I mean, this was 10, 11 days after her husband had been publicly and graphically and horrifically and prematurely taken from this planet. Erika Kirk stood in front of thousands and in such a beautiful, bold manner forgave her husband's assassin. I think only through God can a grieving widow possess so much serenity and strength and comfort and showed that to the world."

That moment of grace resonated especially with young women, who held onto that example of strength through faith.

A Different Approach to Female Empowerment

What makes Erika Kirk's leadership distinctive is her approach to engaging young women. As Gaines explains, "They highlighted what she's doing and what Turning Point USA is doing. It's not talking down to young women, which is what we've seen for many, many years. No, Erika Kirk is teaching young women how to be empowered."

Under Erika Kirk's leadership, Turning Point USA is creating spaces where women can discuss multiple facets of their lives. "I believe and I think they spoke to how under Erika Kirk's leadership Turning Point USA is creating spaces where women can talk about family, they can talk about faith and ambition and truth," Gaines says.

The movement has taught young women that "disagreement is not and should not be treated as violence and that courage is rewarded not punished."

The Power of Speaking Truth

Gaines herself experienced the power of this message when she took the stage at AmericaFest. "The whole arena is standing, clapping, and you really do have to pinch yourself and remind the audience: look, I have merely said that there are two sexes and you can't change your sex and each sex is deserving of equal opportunity, of privacy and of safety."

The irony wasn't lost on Gaines—receiving thunderous applause simply for stating biological facts. Yet this response demonstrates how hungry young people are for leaders willing to speak truth clearly and without apology.

Looking Ahead to 2028

The impact of this movement could reshape political demographics in future elections. In 2024, 57% of men under 30 voted for President Trump, while only 41% of females in that age group did the same. However, if the current trend continues and messages from leaders like Erika Kirk and Riley Gaines continue resonating with young women, those numbers could shift significantly by 2028.

As one young woman put it after hearing Erika speak, "I realized that my opinion is just as valuable as anybody else's. And after this very unfortunate assassination, it wasn't time to be quiet anymore."

With record-breaking female attendance at AmericaFest and a growing movement of young conservative women finding their voice, the political landscape may look very different in the years to come.
