Confusion Over the Event's Nature
Sam Seder and his co-hosts Brian and an unnamed participant begin by trying to identify footage from what they initially thought might be a Toyota convention or TPUSA event. The confusion quickly turns to shock as they realize they're watching President Trump dancing at what appears to be a memorial service, complete with pyrotechnics.
The hosts express disbelief at the appropriateness of Trump's behavior, particularly noting that his dancing may have occurred right after a widow gave a speech about her late husband. One host remarks, "How could you do that to a bereaved widow? I mean, this might have been right after she gave her speech about her late husband."
Misidentifying the Deceased
The segment takes a turn when the hosts discuss a clip from what they identify as "the Charlie Kirk and Jack Posobiec show" where hosts were allegedly making fun of someone who died. However, they clarify that the mockery was actually directed at Aaron Bushnell, who self-immolated in protest of U.S. financing and supplying weapons for what he called an ongoing genocide.
The hosts play audio where voices describe the death as funny, with one saying, "Yes, he died, but some deaths are funny, and there's a lot about this death that is funny." Another voice refers to the deceased "becoming the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man," revealing the callous nature of the commentary.
Trump Dancing After a Eulogy
Returning to footage of the memorial service, the hosts show Trump dancing on stage to music and applause. Sam comments, "It's actually pretty messed up that Trump was just dancing after she gave her eulogy. Not very... I mean, he's a sociopath."
Historical Context: The Paul Wellstone Memorial
The discussion shifts to a historical comparison with the 2002 memorial service for Democratic Senator Paul Wellstone. The hosts play news footage from that event, where Republicans including Trent Lott criticized the partisan tone of the memorial. Former congressman Vin Weber had said, "To them, Wellstone's death apparently was just another campaign event."
Sam notes that Al Franken got into politics in part because of how Republicans mischaracterized and gained political advantage from that memorial service, drawing a parallel to the current situation.
Stephen Miller's Inflammatory Speech
The segment focuses heavily on a speech by Stephen Miller at the event, where he delivers what the hosts describe as disturbing rhetoric targeting political opponents of the Trump administration. Miller declares: "We will defeat the dark. We will prevail over the forces of wickedness and evil. They cannot imagine what they have awakened. They cannot conceive of the army."
Sam points out that Miller is blaming "all of you" - meaning anyone who opposes the Trump administration - for violence, despite a headline stating "No evidence found yet of ties between Charlie Kirk shooting and left-wing groups." Sam emphasizes that "all we know about this person is that he was steeped in gun training by his very, very conservative, MAGA loving family."
One host adds, "Maybe it was that six months at college," sarcastically suggesting that's what Miller would blame rather than the shooter's conservative upbringing.
Miller's Extended Rhetoric
The hosts continue playing Miller's speech, where he states: "The 'they' that Stephen Miller is talking about is 50% of the country who disagree with Donald Trump. Maybe more at this point."
Miller continues: "Those trying to incite violence against us, those trying to foment hatred against us, what do you have? You have nothing. You are nothing. You are wickedness. You are jealousy. You are envy. You are hatred. You are nothing. You can build nothing. You can produce nothing. You can create nothing. We are the ones who build. We are the ones who create. We are the ones who lift up humanity."
He goes on: "You thought you could kill Charlie Kirk. You have made him immortal. You have immortalized Charlie Kirk. And now millions will carry on his legacy. And we will devote the rest of our lives to finishing the causes for which Charlie gave his last measure of devotion."
Miller concludes: "You cannot defeat us. You cannot slow us. You cannot stop us. You cannot deter us. We will carry Charlie and Erika in our heart every single day and fight that much harder because of what you did to us. You have no idea the dragon you have awakened. You have no idea how determined we will be to save this civilization, to save the West, to save this republic."
Critiquing Miller's Delivery
After pausing the speech, one host offers a biting observation: "You know what he's talking to? A girl who turned him down at prom."
They critique Miller's speech-writing abilities, noting he "keeps repeating himself over and over again. Like, it's a total redundancy. This guy's a speech writer. He keeps repeating the same refrain over and over again, and there's no build. There's no crescendo."
The hosts also comment on Miller's physical mannerisms, with one noting "this tick where like it's like, you know, the lizard person is readjusting himself underneath the skin like where he does that thing with his neck." Another adds that he "puckers out his bottom lip" similar to Trump.
One host sarcastically suggests, "We need more Stephen Miller," to which another responds, "He's basically the shadow president, so he should show his face a little bit more so people can get to know him."
Security Measures and Second Amendment Irony
Sam points out that "the Department of Homeland Security designated the service as a top level security event akin to the Super Bowl or New York City Marathon." He speculates that "they had some metal detectors there and that people weren't able to open carry throughout the event."
One host responds sarcastically: "Sounds like an infringement of the Second Amendment to me." Another adds, "Why? I thought guns make people more safe."
Trash Left Behind at the Venue
The segment concludes with disturbing images of the massive amount of garbage left at the event venue. One host says, "I was offended for Charlie Kirk because to leave this much garbage outside. I mean, look, listen, I've been to public events before. There's garbage. But this is shocking to me."
The footage shows bottles, chairs, and debris scattered throughout the area. A host comments, "People left like bottles. There's video of this, too. Go find the video. People walking around like the amount of garbage left outside there. And I'm sorry if you leave your chair there for whatever reason. Go pick it up on your way out."
Another responds, "It feels like a desecration... it's very, very hard not to" make judgments about the lack of civic pride. One host quips, "When they talk about making America great again, they want to go to pre-littering laws in the 1940s."
A host from the area expresses particular offense: "You come to my city for to trash it? Come on, man. Respect my city." They add, "I mean, you're going to a memorial for gosh sakes... I would have expected better."
The segment ends with a pointed reference to Miller's claim that "we're the ones who build," with one host sarcastically referencing "a mountain" of trash. Another asks, "Was the Klan that sloppy?" highlighting the disturbing nature of the entire event.

[00:00] Let's just have a shot of somebody
[00:01] having some fun. Somebody who's dancing
[00:04] around,
[00:04] >> loving life.
[00:05] >> Loving life and just feeling it. Here is
[00:09] President Trump at the What did they
[00:12] title this? TPUSA convention?
[00:14] >> Toyota.
[00:15] >> Uh, what was it? The
[00:17] >> Oh, was this the memorial service?
[00:19] >> Well, there were pyrochnics.
[00:20] >> Wait a second. I thought it was Toyota.
[00:22] >> Was this the honestly the memorial
[00:24] service? Is this where he's dancing? Oh,
[00:26] play this. This is weird.
[00:28] >> Gosh.
[00:29] [Music]
[00:40] Oh, that's
[00:41] >> Wow, that is not appropriate.
[00:44] >> It's callous.
[00:45] >> Wait, could you keep keep playing that
[00:47] like go put that up
[00:49] >> next to the widow of Charlie Kirk?
[00:50] >> That is just not appropriate.
[00:53] >> How could you do that to a brief widow?
[00:56] I mean, this might have been right after
[00:57] she gave her
[00:59] her speech about her I'm sure
[01:02] >> her late husband.
[01:03] >> I'm
[01:04] >> Well, Sam, you know how some in some
[01:05] cultures, you know, we wear black to
[01:07] funerals, uh, but some cultures do it
[01:09] differently. Maybe Trump's just mourning
[01:11] in a different way, but I'm not sure.
[01:13] Either way, I just don't think it's very
[01:15] respectful.
[01:16] >> Um,
[01:17] this is a uh clip of uh folks on the Oh,
[01:24] Charlie Kirk and Jack Pobiac show. Oh,
[01:28] making fun of dead uh somebody who died.
[01:31] No, that's not I I can't believe that
[01:34] question is,
[01:35] >> you know, I I didn't make a Lenton
[01:37] promise to not laugh at people on the
[01:38] internet, so I I'm going to embrace it.
[01:41] Yes, he died, but some deaths are funny,
[01:45] >> and there's a lot about this death that
[01:47] is funny. And it's grim, too. I wish he
[01:51] had not made the decisions in his life
[01:52] that led to him making this decision,
[01:55] >> becoming the Staypuff Marshmallow Man.
[01:57] >> Yeah. But
[01:59] >> Oh, they're talking about Aaron
[02:00] Bushnell, who um self- emilated uh in
[02:05] protest of our financing and supplying
[02:08] weapons for an ongoing genocide. Huh.
[02:16] >> Oh, okay.
[02:18] >> Yeah. Let's pull that up. I mean, this
[02:20] is why we were a little confused, Sam, I
[02:23] think. Um, because this is what I saw.
[02:29] And I don't know about you, Brian, but
[02:31] this was this is what we why we were
[02:33] confused about the nature of the event,
[02:35] I think.
[02:37] [Music]
[02:39] [Applause]
[02:43] [Music]
[02:59] [Applause]
[03:01] Okay, there you go.
[03:04] I mean, it's actually kind not to be a
[03:05] softy, but it's pretty messed up that
[03:07] Trump was just dancing after she gave
[03:09] her eulogy. Uh, not not very I mean,
[03:12] he's he's a sociopath.
[03:15] the um
[03:19] uh the the amount uh I guess it was back
[03:22] in 2002
[03:25] uh
[03:27] that Democratic Congressman uh excuse
[03:31] me, Senator Paul Wellstone died.
[03:34] >> Pop this up on the uh stage and the tone
[03:38] of the Wellstone Memorial generates
[03:41] anger. The anger incidentally
[03:44] were generated on the right. The
[03:47] partisan tone of the memorial service
[03:49] for the late Senator Paul Wellstone
[03:52] stirred anger Wednesday in some
[03:53] Republicans, political consultants, and
[03:56] radio talk show host who say some of the
[03:59] comments and behavior were
[04:00] inappropriate.
[04:01] >> What could those comments have been?
[04:03] >> Democrats defended the nature of the
[04:05] service, but they also apologized to
[04:07] anyone who might have been offended.
[04:08] >> Oh my god.
[04:11] Oh, Trent Lot. Trent lot. There he is.
[04:14] >> Um, yes. Scattered booze also greeted
[04:17] independent Jesse Ventura, who Wednesday
[04:19] lashed out at Democrats for what he
[04:20] called a political rally.
[04:23] The crowd cheered for Walter Montdale.
[04:28] To them, Wellstone's death apparently
[04:30] was just another campaign event, said
[04:33] Vin Weber, former congressman from
[04:35] Minnesota.
[04:36] >> Wow. Um
[04:39] now, uh Al Franken ended up I think in
[04:42] many respects getting into politics
[04:44] because of how much uh they both
[04:46] mischaracterized what what happened on
[04:48] there, but the political hay they got
[04:51] out of it. Meanwhile,
[04:54] let's watch um
[04:57] uh would be um Adolf Hikman uh at the uh
[05:03] Charlie Kirk event. Oh, you know who I
[05:05] was talking about. It's very easy. I'm
[05:08] in favor of him being more public. By
[05:10] the way,
[05:10] >> here is Steven Miller talking about um
[05:15] everybody who opposes
[05:18] the Trump administration. He's talking
[05:20] certainly to all of you and maybe more
[05:23] uh than who are listening to my voice.
[05:26] Um but everybody who opposes the Trump
[05:28] administration, this is what he has to
[05:30] say.
[05:30] >> Will defeat the dark. We will prevail
[05:34] over the forces of wickedness and evil.
[05:38] They cannot imagine what they have
[05:40] awakened. They cannot conceive of the
[05:44] army.
[05:44] >> It deposit. Now the they are supposedly
[05:48] the they that killed Charlie Kirk. And
[05:51] the last I checked now I know I've heard
[05:55] there is within uh TPUSA circles. I'm
[05:59] not gonna, you know, pretend like I'm
[06:00] uh, you know, uh, deaf to what I read on
[06:03] the internet or blind to it. I know
[06:05] there are people who are questioning the
[06:07] TPUSA guy because somehow the bullet
[06:10] there was only an entry wound and not an
[06:12] exit wound and somebody took a camera. I
[06:15] don't care about any of that because
[06:17] that's not the they he's talking about.
[06:19] The day he's talking about is you
[06:22] because of some um former maybe if not
[06:26] former somebody who was raised in a
[06:28] conservative household around guns in a
[06:32] very uh religious uh conservative
[06:34] setting.
[06:36] That's not my fault. That was not the
[06:39] upbringing that I gave him. But Steven
[06:42] Miller will blame all of you for this
[06:44] guy's upbringing. This 22year-old.
[06:46] Despite this headline, no evidence,
[06:49] quote, found yet of ties between Charlie
[06:51] Kirk shooting and leftwing groups.
[06:52] Officials say,
[06:53] >> all we know about this person is that he
[06:56] was steeped in gun training by his very,
[06:59] very conservative, MAGA loving family.
[07:02] >> Where you go from there, listen, most of
[07:04] the rules and most of the things that
[07:06] you learn as a uh as a young adult were
[07:10] taught to you when you were a young
[07:12] child.
[07:14] As a parent, that's the only thing I
[07:15] know. So like you know the the stuff
[07:16] comes back around. I see it.
[07:18] >> Maybe it was that six months at college.
[07:20] >> But the they learning
[07:22] >> the they
[07:24] that that Stephen Miller is talking
[07:25] about is 50% of the country
[07:30] >> who disagree with Donald Trump. Maybe
[07:31] more at this point. I don't know. But
[07:34] somehow according to Stephen Miller
[07:36] you're responsible for this 22year-old
[07:39] who grew up in a conservative family.
[07:42] >> The deplorables you might say. Yeah.
[07:45] Well, he and and this is what he says
[07:48] about you
[07:50] of the army that they have arisen in all
[07:53] of us
[07:55] because we stand for what is good, what
[07:58] is virtuous, what is noble. And to those
[08:01] trying to incite violence against us,
[08:04] those trying to fment hatred against us,
[08:06] what do you have?
[08:09] You have nothing. You are nothing. You
[08:12] are wickedness. You are jealousy. You
[08:14] are envy. You are hatred.
[08:17] You are nothing. You can build nothing.
[08:20] You can produce nothing. You can create
[08:24] nothing. We are the ones who build. We
[08:27] are the ones who create. We are the ones
[08:30] who lift up humanity.
[08:34] You thought you could kill Charlie Kirk.
[08:37] You have made him immortal. You have
[08:40] immortalized Charlie Kirk. And now
[08:43] millions will carry on his legacy.
[08:47] And we will devote the rest of our lives
[08:51] to finishing the causes for which
[08:54] Charlie gave his last measure of
[08:56] devotion.
[08:59] You cannot defeat us. You cannot slow
[09:01] us. You cannot stop us. You cannot deter
[09:04] us. We will carry Charlie and Erica in
[09:07] our heart every single day and fight
[09:10] that much harder because of what you did
[09:13] to us. You have no idea the dragon you
[09:17] have awakened. You have no idea how
[09:20] determined we will be to save this
[09:23] civilization, to save the West, to save
[09:27] this republic.
[09:28] >> Pause it for a second. You know what
[09:29] he'sing to a girl who turned him down at
[09:31] prom. Honestly, the thing that's
[09:33] fascinating about Steven Miller is first
[09:36] of all, he keeps repeating himself over
[09:39] and over again. Like, it's a total
[09:41] redundancy. This guy's a speech writer.
[09:44] >> He keeps repeating the same refrain over
[09:46] and over again, and it there's no build.
[09:50] There's no crescendo.
[09:53] Oh, let's keep hearing more.
[09:56] >> That's it. I mean,
[09:57] >> I I I vote for more public speaking.
[10:00] >> I agree. I agree. You can see why he's
[10:03] described as extremely off-putting in
[10:05] private by basically everybody that
[10:07] comes into contact with him. You see
[10:09] that little I noticed this a lot. He's
[10:10] got this tick where like it's like, you
[10:12] know, the lizard person is is
[10:13] readjusting himself underneath the skin
[10:15] like where he does that thing with his
[10:16] neck.
[10:17] >> Also entirely out his bottom lip.
[10:19] >> Yeah.
[10:19] >> His bottom like Trump, too.
[10:21] >> Oh, yeah. I mean, he uh he's basically
[10:24] the shadow president, so he should show
[10:25] his face a little bit more
[10:27] >> so people can get to know him. We need
[10:29] more Steven Miller.
[10:30] >> By the way, uh the D the Department of
[10:33] Homeland Security designated the service
[10:35] as a top level security event akin to
[10:37] the Super Bowl or New York City
[10:39] Marathon. Um my guess is that they had
[10:42] some metal detectors there and that
[10:44] people weren't able to open carry
[10:45] throughout the uh the event. I wouldn't
[10:48] be shocked if that was
[10:49] >> like an infringement of the Second
[10:50] Amendment to me.
[10:51] >> Why? Why? I thought guns make people
[10:53] more safe. Have you seen the images of
[10:56] like the amount of trash that was left
[10:58] there?
[10:59] >> Will you pop that up?
[11:01] >> This is I mean I was offended for
[11:05] Charlie Kirk
[11:07] because
[11:09] to leave this much garbage
[11:12] outside. I mean like look listen I've
[11:15] been to public events before. There's
[11:17] garbage. But this is shocking to me.
[11:21] People left like bottles. There's video
[11:25] of this, too. Go find the video. People
[11:27] walking around like the amount of
[11:29] garbage left outside there. And I'm
[11:33] sorry if you leave your chair there for
[11:35] whatever reason. Go pick it up on your
[11:38] way out.
[11:39] >> Where's the National Guard to kind of
[11:40] clean this damn place up?
[11:43] >> Um, it feels like a desecration. I I
[11:46] don't I look I am not going to uh in any
[11:50] way like sort of make some type of grand
[11:55] statement as to the um the lack of civic
[12:01] pride of uh these people because of the
[12:06] behavior here. But it's very very hard
[12:09] not to. Well, when they talk about
[12:11] making America great again, they want to
[12:13] go to pre littering laws in the 1940s.
[12:16] >> Look at the garbage.
[12:18] >> The enormous amount of garbage.
[12:22] >> Oh, you're referring to the the trash.
[12:24] >> What you come to my city for to trash
[12:26] it? Come on, man. Respect my city.
[12:30] >> I mean that I'll tell you something.
[12:31] I've seen even worse videos from there
[12:34] and I'm just surprised that color me
[12:37] surprised. I just
[12:39] >> I would have expected better.
[12:40] >> I mean, you're going to a memorial for
[12:43] gosh sakes.
[12:45] >> And uh I think Charlie Kirk was from
[12:47] Arizona. Why treat it with such utter
[12:52] like it goes beyond disrespect? It's
[12:55] like disdain.
[12:56] >> Was the clan that sloppy?
[12:58] >> Oh my god. Really?
[13:01] >> I I I'm just
[13:02] >> But it's it's also Steven Miller says,
[13:03] "We're the ones who build." I guess I
[13:06] guess uh
[13:07] >> mountain. Yeah, right.
[13:09] >> Um that was really unfortunate. Hey
