Stacy Sheridan Remembers Charlie Kirk: The Leader Who Put Family First and Changed Lives Forever

September 21, 2025

Stacy Sheridan met Charlie Kirk eight years ago at a David Horowitz Freedom Center event in West Palm Beach. What started as a brief encounter evolved into a profound friendship that transcended the typical boss-employee relationship. Through her husband's battle with cancer, the devastating loss of her home in the Pacific Palisades fire, and the unimaginable grief of losing loved ones, Charlie stood beside her family with unwavering support. From secretly arranging critical medical supplies to welcoming her and her daughter Grace into his Arizona family, Charlie exemplified what it means to lead with compassion and faith. Stacy shares the intimate story of how Charlie's guidance, along with divine providence, led her family to Arizona at precisely the right moment, positioning them to support Erica Kirk and her children through their own devastating loss. This powerful tribute reveals the heart of a man whose legacy extends far beyond his public accomplishments to the countless lives h

A Chance Meeting That Changed Everything

Stacy Sheridan's journey with Charlie Kirk began eight years ago in a crowded ballroom in West Palm Beach at a David Horowitz Freedom Center event. They spoke briefly, exchanged business cards, and she thought nothing more of it. What she didn't expect was that Charlie would begin a persistent quest to hire her for his team at Turning Point USA.

Initially reluctant, Stacy was ultimately won over by what she describes as Charlie's "naive audaciousness to change the world." Joining his team became the best decision she ever made, one she never looked back on. While Charlie was technically her boss, their relationship transcended typical workplace dynamics. She felt he was more like a little brother—a family member rather than just a leader.

Standing By Family Through Unimaginable Loss

In 2022, Stacy's world was shaken when her husband Mike became sick with cancer. Two years later, that cancer took his life. Throughout those devastating two years, Charlie's support never wavered. He called consistently, always asking how he could help.

At one point, Charlie arranged for critical medication and an oxygen machine to be sent to Stacy's doorstep without her knowledge. To this day, she has no idea how he made it happen—but that was Charlie. He did the right thing without seeking publicity or credit. There was no limit to how far he would go to help a friend. He acted because that's what a leader does, what a friend does, and what a Christian is supposed to do.

During the most difficult periods, Stacy sometimes expressed guilt to Charlie that she couldn't perform her job at 100%. His response was always the same: family first. When Mike ultimately passed away, Charlie and the entire Turning Point USA team were there again, helping Stacy's daughter Grace through the unbearable tragedy of losing her father on her ninth birthday.

From Tragedy to Divine Providence

Charlie's support didn't stop with Mike's passing. In January, Stacy lost her home in the Pacific Palisades fire. Charlie's response was clear and direct: "This is a sign you and Grace belong in Arizona." Within a few months, they moved to Arizona, and Charlie and Erica Kirk welcomed them into their family.

Throughout their various tragedies, Grace would ask her mother at least once a day, "Why would God do this to us, Mom?" Stacy's honest answer was always the same: "Someday we will look at each other and instantly know why all of this had to happen. And it will be for something far greater than we can ever imagine."

That answer came in the most unexpected and heartbreaking way. In Stacy's first conversation with Grace after Charlie's death, Grace said through tears over the phone, "Mom, this is the answer to my question. This is our why. Now we can be there for Erica and Gigi and Mac the way they were there for us."

A Promise to Continue the Mission

Looking back, Stacy knows with certainty that Grace was right. She believes that her late husband Mike, Charlie, and God were guiding them to Arizona for this very moment in time. It was always written. She made a solemn commitment to Erica that she and Grace would support her and her children the way Charlie and Erica were there for them in their darkest days.

Stacy will miss Charlie's words of wisdom, his high-pitched laugh that was "kind of awkward," and the way his voice would always soften when he spoke to Erika and his children. She promised to make Turning Point USA so big that it reaches Charlie in heaven.

A Legacy Coming to Fruition

Everything Charlie prayed for in his life—a restoration of faith, a rebirth of patriotism—is coming to fruition in his death. Stacy believes that right now, he is beaming at them from heaven. The fact that they pulled off his memorial service in seven days is a miracle that only Charlie Kirk could deliver.

In closing, Stacy invoked Charlie's own words: "Let's get to work, everybody. We have a country to save."

[00:05] My name is Stacy Sheridan. Eight years

[00:08] ago, I met Charlie in a crowded ballroom

[00:11] in West Palm Beach at a David Horowitz

[00:14] Freedom Center event.

[00:16] We spoke briefly. We exchanged cards and

[00:19] I thought nothing of it.

[00:23] What ultimately

[00:26] made me want to join Charlie's cause in

[00:28] Charlie's team because he began a quest

[00:30] to hire me after meeting me.

[00:34] I was reluctant at first, but it was his

[00:38] naive audaciousness

[00:42] to change the world that ultimately sold

[00:45] me.

[00:46] It was the best decision I've ever made

[00:49] and I've never looked back.

[00:51] Yes, technically Charlie was my boss,

[00:55] but it really never felt that way. Far

[00:58] more than my boss. I felt like he was my

[01:01] little brother. So, the guys that went

[01:04] before me

[01:06] spoke about him as a boss and a leader.

[01:08] I'm going to speak about him from my

[01:10] heart,

[01:12] as a family member.

[01:15] In 2022, my husband Mike became sick

[01:18] with cancer.

[01:20] Two years later, that cancer took his

[01:23] life.

[01:24] Throughout those two years, Charlie

[01:27] called me consistently to ask how he

[01:30] could help us. At one point, he had

[01:33] critical medication and an oxygen

[01:36] machine sent to my doorstep without my

[01:38] knowledge. I still to this day have no

[01:42] idea how he made that happen.

[01:45] But that was Charlie.

[01:48] He did the right thing. There was no

[01:50] limit to how far he'd go to help a

[01:53] friend.

[01:55] He wasn't looking for publicity or

[01:57] credit.

[01:59] He did it because that's what a leader

[02:02] does. That's what a friend does

[02:06] and that's what a Christian is supposed

[02:07] to do.

[02:10] Sometimes I would express guilt to

[02:12] Charlie that I couldn't do my job at

[02:14] 100%.

[02:16] Charlie's response every single time

[02:20] was family first.

[02:24] When Mike ultimately passed away,

[02:27] Charlie and the entire team were there

[02:30] for us yet again. They helped my

[02:33] daughter Grace through the unbearable

[02:37] tragedy of losing her father on her 9th

[02:40] birthday.

[02:42] But Charlie's help didn't stop there.

[02:45] This January, I lost my home in the

[02:48] Pacific Palisades fire.

[02:51] Charlie's response was very clear and

[02:55] very direct.

[02:57] This is a sign you and Grace belong in

[03:01] Arizona. Now,

[03:03] [Applause]

[03:06] within a few months, we moved here and

[03:10] Charlie and Erica welcomed us into their

[03:12] family.

[03:15] While enduring our various tragedies, my

[03:18] daughter Grace would ask me at least

[03:20] once a day, "Why would God do this to

[03:24] us, Mom?"

[03:25] My honest and only answer was, "Someday

[03:29] we will look at each other and instantly

[03:31] know why all of this had to happen. And

[03:35] it will be for something far greater

[03:37] than we can ever imagine."

[03:40] In my first conversation with Grace

[03:42] after Charlie's death, Grace said to me

[03:45] through tears over the phone, "Mom,

[03:49] this is the answer to my question.

[03:53] This is our why.

[03:56] Now we can be there for Erica and Gigi

[03:59] at Mac the way they were there for us.

[04:05] [Applause]

[04:13] Looking back today, it's so clear to me

[04:16] that Grace was right. I know for certain

[04:18] that my late husband, Mike, Charlie, and

[04:21] God were guiding us here for this very

[04:25] moment in time. It was always written.

[04:30] Erica,

[04:31] Grace, and I will support you and your

[04:33] babies the way you and Charlie were

[04:35] there for us in our darkest days.

[04:38] Charlie,

[04:41] we will miss your words of wisdom,

[04:45] your high-pitched laugh. It was kind of

[04:47] awkward.

[04:49] [Music]

[04:51] And the way your voice would always

[04:53] soften when you spoke to Erica and your

[04:55] children.

[04:57] And I promise

[05:00] we're going to make TPUSC so TPUSA so

[05:04] big that it reaches you in heaven.

[05:07] [Applause]

[05:17] Everything Charlie prayed for in his

[05:19] life, a restoration of faith, a rebirth

[05:23] of patriotism, is coming to fruition in

[05:26] his death. And right now, he is beaming

[05:30] at us from heaven.

[05:33] The fact that we pulled this off in

[05:35] seven days is a miracle that only

[05:37] Charlie Kirk can deliver. by the way.

[05:42] So, in Charlie's words, "Let's get to

[05:45] work, everybody. We have a country to

[05:47] save." Thank you.

[05:52] [Music]

[05:53] [Applause]
