[00:00] I think it's horrendous.
[00:01] >> I think it's horrendous.
[00:02] >> Yeah, totally.
[00:03] >> Tell me about it.
[00:03] >> This is a free country and it's our it's
[00:06] our rights.
[00:07] >> Yeah.
[00:08] >> Do you guys watch?
[00:10] >> Yeah, I do.
[00:12] >> I'm studying political science here and
[00:13] I like
[00:14] >> I have no was just I like watching
[00:16] people debate, you know, like
[00:18] >> and it it's just crazy.
[00:20] >> Thank you.
[00:20] >> Keep face.
[00:21] >> Thank you. I appreciate it.
[00:23] >> Stay strong.
[00:23] >> Thank you.
[00:24] >> Be brave.
[00:25] >> Thank you. I appreciate it. It's more
[00:27] important than ever.
[00:27] >> Yeah. You got a chance, please do the
[00:30] education stuff to the young kids.
[00:33] >> I will.
[00:34] >> That's our future.
[00:35] >> That's why I'm here.
[00:36] >> I think it's horrendous.
[00:37] >> You think it's horrendous?
[00:38] >> Yeah, totally.
[00:39] >> Tell me about it.
[00:40] >> This is a free country and it's our
[00:42] >> it's our rights.
[00:44] >> Yeah.
[00:45] >> Do you guys watch? Yeah, I do. I'm
[00:48] studying political science here and I
[00:50] like
[00:51] >> was just I like watching people debate
[00:53] you know like
[00:54] >> and it it's just crazy
[00:56] >> especially happening on a campus I think
[00:59] is what's the scariest part a college
[01:01] campus like college campuses should be a
[01:03] safe space for debate and intellectual
[01:06] diversity and the fact that like people
[01:10] are
[01:11] >> like killing people like it's just on a
[01:14] university is like crazy to me.
[01:16] >> Yeah. Like it's how how do you go to
[01:19] university and like you can't be safe to
[01:22] debate, you know, or have different
[01:24] opinions? Like it's just
[01:26] >> it's wild and it's like it's scary,
[01:28] especially like
[01:29] >> I don't know.
[01:30] >> Yeah. What I would say is uh the
[01:32] University of Washington is a very
[01:33] liberal campus as I'm sure all of you
[01:35] know. Um
[01:37] >> I come here a lot and I table I'm only
[01:39] here today because Charlie died.
[01:41] >> Yeah. I was planning on coming back on
[01:43] the 22nd when class was actually in
[01:44] session so I would actually get people
[01:46] to talk to you and I could sit over by
[01:47] the cherry blossoms. But um I think
[01:50] right now it is pivotal and very
[01:52] important for people with conservative
[01:53] views to stand stronger than they ever
[01:56] have and express their opinions and be
[01:57] fierce and fearless um because we can't
[02:00] let if they want us to run away and they
[02:02] want us to hide and they want us to
[02:03] cower but if we show them that killing
[02:05] people doesn't work maybe they'll stop
[02:06] doing it. But if we hide they they'll
[02:08] keep doing it.
[02:09] >> Yeah. And I don't even think it's
[02:10] totally about the gun laws in general.
[02:13] Like I feel like that's people are
[02:15] focusing on the irony of the whole thing
[02:17] when like you know if even if we ban or
[02:21] like ban guns and like keep restricting
[02:23] gun laws like that's not going to stop
[02:25] the horrible people from getting it. You
[02:27] know they think
[02:28] >> over 400 million guns in the United
[02:30] States at this point. If we just stop
[02:32] selling guns, ammo, anything right now,
[02:35] is it going to go away? But what you say
[02:37] is is interesting because um they think
[02:40] it's ironic that Charlie Kirk, the guy
[02:42] who advocated for gun rights, was killed
[02:44] while he was talking about gun rights.
[02:46] And they say that if Charlie just would
[02:48] have wanted gun control, maybe he'd be
[02:50] alive. But what's actually ironic is
[02:52] that Charlie Kirk was murdered in a
[02:53] gun-free zone,
[02:55] >> college campus. It's gun free zone. He
[02:56] was killed in a gun-free zone where
[02:58] where it was already gun control.
[02:59] >> It's so sad.
[03:00] >> And it didn't stop anybody from bringing
[03:02] a gun to that campus, sitting on a roof,
[03:03] and murdering him. campuses should be a
[03:05] hub for knowledge and a hub for opinions
[03:08] and
[03:08] >> yeah,
[03:09] >> you know, no matter which way you go.
[03:11] >> It's sad that it's like,
[03:13] >> you know,
[03:14] >> yeah,
[03:15] >> that it's not anymore. And it like
[03:17] scares me. And I mean, I'm from Arizona,
[03:20] so it's definitely a more right leaning
[03:22] state. And that's uh his wife went to my
[03:25] school
[03:26] >> really. Uh yeah. So my high school and
[03:29] it they posted it and it's just like I
[03:32] don't understand how no matter what side
[03:34] of the spectrum you're on, how you just
[03:36] like you can't find empathy for it. Like
[03:38] it's tragic no matter what side you're
[03:41] on. And like
[03:42] >> Have you ever been to America Fest?
[03:44] >> No, I haven't.
[03:45] >> You should go.
[03:46] >> It's in Arizona. It's right in Phoenix.
[03:48] >> Oh, is it?
[03:48] >> At the convention center every year.
[03:49] Yeah.
[03:50] >> I don't know.
[03:50] >> It's in December.
[03:51] >> What does that entail?
[03:52] >> It's just a conference. So, you show up
[03:53] and uh every other year Charlie speaks.
[03:57] Obviously, he won't speak this year.
[03:59] >> Uh this year, I'm sure they'll still
[04:01] have it. Uh I hope. Um but you Trump
[04:04] usually speaks. Uh Charlie usually
[04:06] speaks, Scott Presler, Brandon Tatum, uh
[04:09] sometimes Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson,
[04:10] people like that. They come and they
[04:12] speak. Politicians,
[04:14] um leading voices, people like that.
[04:16] It's uh Turning Point. what Charlie set
[04:18] up was really for students
[04:20] >> and so uh students get priority when
[04:23] they come to um when they come to Amfest
[04:26] um you there's a you know like an
[04:29] exhibit hall where there's lots of
[04:30] people set up um selling things and just
[04:32] representing what they believe in and
[04:33] you can learn about some stuff and then
[04:35] there's the main hall where people speak
[04:37] and stuff like that but it's it's it's
[04:40] great and there's also a turning point
[04:41] chapter at UDub.
[04:42] >> Oh, really?
[04:42] >> Yeah. It's all women this year.
[04:44] >> Oh, cool. But yeah, I like I came here
[04:46] definitely for like the diversity cuz
[04:48] then I feel like especially if like
[04:50] whether you live in a more Republican
[04:52] state or liberal state like information
[04:53] tends to get fed only like through one
[04:55] side. And so I was really excited to
[04:57] come here from a more right leaning
[04:58] state cuz I was like wait this is a
[04:59] whole new perspective that I haven't
[05:01] like you know been able to be immersed
[05:03] in as much like talking with different
[05:05] people. It's just going to open my eyes
[05:07] in certain ways and like you know
[05:10] >> it's just like
[05:11] >> what has your experience with that been?
[05:13] Oh, I mean I haven't really started
[05:14] school yet. You
[05:15] >> just got here. Yeah.
[05:15] >> Yeah. But that's why I'm a little
[05:17] >> How long have you been here?
[05:18] >> Sunday.
[05:19] >> I mean, we were here for recruitment, so
[05:21] about a week.
[05:22] >> Yeah. Nice. How do you like the prices
[05:23] up here so far?
[05:25] >> What?
[05:26] >> How do you like the prices up here so
[05:27] far?
[05:27] >> Expensive, but I can't say it's quite
[05:29] cheap where I'm from either.
[05:31] >> Yeah, it's that mic like is it real or
[05:34] >> Yeah, it's real. Yeah, it is. It was
[05:36] nice to
[05:39] >> It's uh I YouTube.
[05:41] >> Okay. Follow him on Twitter, Cam Hickey.
[05:43] >> He runs my Twitter.
[05:44] >> Cool.
[05:45] >> Yeah. Yeah.
[05:46] >> I love this.
[05:49] The whole getting people engaged and
[05:52] >> I think like right now it's really
[05:53] important for
[05:55] >> like everyone like I feel like this is
[05:58] bigger than like gun control and bigger
[06:00] than like
[06:01] >> which party you're on. And like I think
[06:04] this is like a good example of why we
[06:05] need to start building more like
[06:07] coalitions because we're so divided
[06:09] right now as a democracy and like this I
[06:13] think if we were more like together and
[06:15] more of a community like this kind of
[06:17] stuff wouldn't be happening.
[06:18] >> I think that's what what Charlie was all
[06:20] about. He wanted to build coalitions and
[06:22] uh I mean I on this I stand I don't
[06:24] think communists should be killed
[06:25] either. I don't think Nazis should be
[06:26] killed. I don't think anybody should be
[06:28] killed just for their opinions. Now, if
[06:29] you think that Nazis are or you think
[06:32] you're a Nazi and you think that Jews
[06:33] are like vile, disgusting creatures and
[06:35] you want to kill them and you act on it,
[06:37] then somebody should defend that person
[06:39] and take that person out. But, but just
[06:42] having the opinion shouldn't be enough
[06:43] to get you killed. You have to actually
[06:45] act in a way that harms another person
[06:47] first. And I don't think that that words
[06:48] harm people.
[06:49] >> Sticks and stones.
[06:51] >> So, interesting.
[06:53] >> Yeah. And I hold the same for
[06:54] communists. Yeah. So,
[06:56] >> yeah, I think it's cool that you guys
[06:57] are doing this, especially since um
[06:59] Washington's get debated a lot like on
[07:04] >> Yeah. Yeah. I usually sit over by the
[07:06] the uh cherry blossoms. Uh I when class
[07:09] is in session, I usually try to come at
[07:10] least once a week if I'm not busy around
[07:13] here.
[07:13] >> Yeah, I live in Seattle. Yeah.
[07:14] >> Okay, cool.
[07:15] >> And so, but uh obviously it's still
[07:18] technically like summer session, so
[07:19] class there's not a lot of people here.
[07:20] >> Yeah. So, you've been getting debated
[07:22] like recently. I just had a professor
[07:24] come up and talk to me but um like he he
[07:27] always comes up. Uh but yeah, no during
[07:30] session I get quite a few people.
[07:32] >> Thank you guys. Thank you for your
[07:33] support.
[07:34] >> Thanks guys for being here.
[07:36] >> Thank you.
[07:38] >> Sad day for America.
[07:39] >> Sad day.
[07:39] >> Thanks guys, man. I'm with you guys.
[07:41] >> I appreciate it.
[07:42] >> Charlie is uh made his uh like I said,
[07:44] his voice is even bigger now.
[07:46] >> Yeah.
[07:46] >> Than ever before. It's
[07:47] >> like an artist.
[07:48] >> Yeah. But uh
[07:49] >> people pay closer attention. I just
[07:51] praise that uh praying that God will
[07:52] raise up more Charlie Kirks in his
[07:54] world. They will stand up. Our voice
[07:56] cannot be silenced. You know,
[07:58] >> now is the worst time to do it.
[07:59] >> That's exactly what they want is us to
[08:01] run and hide and cower in our houses.
[08:02] That's why I'm here today. I wasn't
[08:04] going to come I come here a lot, but I
[08:05] wasn't going to come here until the 22nd
[08:06] when school's in session. I came here
[08:08] today because Charlie's dead and because
[08:09] you need to show like a show of
[08:12] strength.
[08:13] >> Yeah, absolutely. Thanks, guys.
[08:15] >> Thanks so much.
[08:16] >> Means a lot, guys.
[08:17] >> Thank you.
[08:18] >> Take care. I I assume this is about
[08:20] Charlie.
[08:21] >> This is about Charlie. Yeah.
[08:22] >> Okay.
[08:24] >> Yeah. Turn your mind.
[08:26] >> Well, obviously, you know, nobody should
[08:28] be killed over their opinion. So, I
[08:31] completely agree with that.
[08:33] >> Yeah. Right on.
[08:34] >> Thank you.
[08:35] >> And also the the people in Minneapolis
[08:39] were killed too.
[08:40] >> Yeah.
[08:40] >> Just the same thing. And we got to make
[08:42] sure everybody sees vote, not
[08:44] >> 100%.
[08:45] >> We don't didn't agree with him, but I
[08:46] respected him.
[08:47] >> Yeah. He talked
[08:48] >> 100%. I appreciate it. Thank you.
[08:50] >> Exactly. Open debates only.
[08:51] >> Yeah, that's what we need. We need
[08:53] discussion. Thank you so much.
[08:55] >> Appreciate you guys being here, but
[08:56] remember the other side is
[08:57] >> Yeah.
[08:59] >> I don't worry about the left wing too
[09:01] much.
[09:02] >> Does Turning Point or does your family
[09:03] manage all that or are you just a
[09:05] kid that's never
[09:07] >> Thank you.
[09:08] >> Keep face.
[09:09] >> Thank you. I appreciate it.
[09:10] >> Stay strong.
[09:11] >> Thank you.
[09:12] >> Be brave.
[09:12] >> Thank you. I appreciate it. It's more
[09:14] important than ever.
[09:15] >> You got a chance. Please do the
[09:18] education stuff to the young kids.
[09:20] >> I will.
[09:21] >> That's our future.
[09:22] >> That's why I'm here.
[09:23] >> Never give up.
[09:24] >> I won't. Thank you. Thank you so much.
[09:26] >> I appreciate it. Thank you so much.
[09:30] >> Thank you.
[09:30] >> Have a good one. Be safe.
[09:32] >> Thank you.
[09:33] >> Thank you.
[09:34] >> Talk more to the young generation.
[09:36] >> I will. That's why I'm here.
[09:37] >> I don't know what's going on.
[09:39] >> I don't either. It's crazy.
[09:41] >> It will require a lot of work, but there
[09:43] will be a lot more Charlie Kirks, man.
[09:45] Just want to thank you guys for, you
[09:46] know, carrying the mantle here because
[09:48] don't don't want don't want his uh his
[09:50] life and stuff to be lost to this. It's
[09:53] it's so important that we have dialogue.
[09:55] >> It's most important right now whether we
[09:57] agree or not, man.
[09:58] >> Stick with it.
[09:59] >> Thank you so much.
[10:00] >> Take care of yourself.
[10:01] >> Yeah. Have a good one. You say,
