A Tribute to Charlie Kirk

Charlie loved this country and partnering with organizations that stand for what makes America great. One of our most trusted partners, AAC, the Association of Mature American Citizens, is doing something special in Charlie’s honor by offering free memberships to all ages.

Grieving and Support from the Vice President

Welcome back to the Charlie Kirk Show. I am so excited about our next guest—the Vice President of the United States. I want to start by acknowledging the tragedy we’ve been living through. You and Usha have been tremendous. You’ve been out front offering support for Erica and the entire team, which speaks volumes about your character and compassion.

The Vice President responded, expressing his appreciation and reflecting on the surreal nature of the past month. He shared the story of the dignified transfer of Charlie’s body and how he and his team offered to assist the family during this difficult time. Despite the grief, that day set the tone for the mourning process and the mission to keep Charlie’s memory alive.

The Campus Tour and Continuing the Mission

The Vice President announced he would be joining Erica Kirk on the campus tour, including a significant event at Old Miss (University of Mississippi) on October 29th, and another at Auburn on November 5th, marking the one-year anniversary of a major political win. Erica will make her only appearance on this tour at Old Miss.

He emphasized the importance of continuing Charlie’s mission by engaging directly with young people, answering their questions, and fostering meaningful dialogue—just as Charlie did.

The Reality of Grief

The Vice President spoke candidly about the ups and downs of grief, noting that Erica has been staying with them at the Naval Observatory. Some days are better than others, and it’s important to allow space for grieving while continuing the mission.

He also shared a poignant story about a phone call with Erica, where Charlie’s daughter repeatedly asked, “Where’s Daddy?” highlighting the personal tragedy behind the public loss.

Addressing Political Violence and Unity

The conversation turned to the rise of left-wing violence and the disturbing celebration of Charlie’s assassination by some. The Vice President stressed the need for unity based on truth, acknowledging the reality of political violence, which he identified as a bigger problem on the left.

He condemned the justification of violence for political beliefs and called for a national reckoning to reject such impulses. He also highlighted efforts within the federal government to refocus law enforcement on addressing left-wing political violence, including rooting out funding networks that support it.

The Impact of Social Media and Cancel Culture

The Vice President addressed the issue of offensive jokes and statements made by young people in private group chats, cautioning against ruining lives over youthful mistakes. He advocated for a more forgiving approach in the digital age, emphasizing that kids do stupid things and that society should not cancel them for it.

Charlie Kirk shared a similar philosophy, refusing to engage in “pearl clutching” over youthful indiscretions, especially in a time when some are celebrating Charlie’s murder with no outrage from mainstream media.

Final Thoughts: Love Over Hate

In closing, the Vice President expressed pride in the work being done to carry on Charlie’s legacy. Despite the negativity and hate, he has experienced thousands of positive moments, including people returning to their faith inspired by Charlie’s message.

He reminded listeners that for every hateful act, there is ten times as much love, and that love must guide the way forward.
