Communities across the country held candlelight vigils honoring Charlie Kirk after his fatal shooting at Utah Valley University, including a gathering at Bakersfield's Dignity Health Amphitheater that drew hundreds and featured a motorcade, worship music, and reflections from local Republican youth leaders. At one vigil, independent journalist Cam Higby said he was punched repeatedly and had his phone and glasses damaged after he attempted to film counter-protesters chanting anti-Kirk statements, with two people later arrested for robbery.
