The School Where Kirk's Faith Began

Showing 5 Chicago Christian Heritage Academy videos from Charlie Kirk's video collection.

Chicago Christian Heritage Academy is where Charlie Kirk gave his life to Christ in fifth grade, an experience he returned to repeatedly throughout his adult career as the foundation for everything that followed, describing the moment he made Jesus Christ what he called the chairman of the board of his life. Kirk credited the school's clear presentation of the gospel, understanding the stakes of sin and that salvation could not be earned through good works, with shaping a faith that deepened rather than faded as he grew older, telling college audiences the more he studied Scripture the more aware he became of his own shortcomings and the world's need for that same message. He traced a direct line from that early conversion through his decision to skip college and found Turning Point USA instead, framing his political work explicitly as secondary to what he considered the far more important task of winning souls for Christ, a priority he said pastors and even fellow politicians once told him to keep separate from his public political career. Kirk later built his own K-12 institution, Turning Point Academy, drawing directly on his Chicago Christian Heritage Academy experience and explicitly modeling it on classical Christian education rather than what he described as the secular, industrial-style schooling shaped by John Dewey that dominates most American public education today.
