David Axelrod: The Democratic Strategist Critiquing Newsom and Kirk

Showing 5 David Axelrod videos from Charlie Kirk's video collection.

David Axelrod, the Democratic strategist best known for managing Barack Obama's presidential campaigns, appears in this material primarily criticizing California Governor Gavin Newsom's decision to launch a podcast featuring Charlie Kirk as an early guest. Axelrod and commentator Karen Finney both characterize the move as a transparent 2028 presidential positioning maneuver rather than a genuine ideological shift. Axelrod specifically challenges Newsom's credibility on transgender athlete policy, noting Newsom avoided taking a clear public position throughout six years as governor before conveniently reversing course once Republicans demonstrated the issue's political effectiveness against Democrats.

Separately, Axelrod joined a CNN panel with Jack Posobiec following Kirk's assassination to discuss what Posobiec described as asymmetric political warfare targeting conservative figures, with Posobiec specifically identifying political assassination as one component of that broader pattern while stopping short of predicting a full-scale civil conflict. Unrelated material in this same source pool covers Kirk's own live commentary on a Trump State of the Union address and separate reporting on Republican early-voting advantages during the 2024 campaign.
