Transparency Disputes From DOGE to the Fight Over Turning Point USA's Finances
Showing 27 Transparency videos from Charlie Kirk's video collection.
Transparency was a value Charlie Kirk championed in government while becoming a demand increasingly directed at his own organization after his death. Kirk celebrated the creation of the Department of Government Efficiency under Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy as a historic step toward exposing federal waste and ending what he called black-box budgeting practices long defended by Senate tradition. That same transparency standard turned inward when Candace Owens publicly questioned why Turning Point USA released only edited audio, not full video, of a private moment in which Charlie Kirk, according to the organization, named Erika Kirk his successor, and why several attendees at the referenced donor event didn't recall the statement being made. Erika Kirk pushed back forcefully against the mounting scrutiny of the organization's finances, defending Turning Point USA as her "family" even as critics noted it had raised over $100 million since Kirk's death without fully answering questions about its use. Separately, Utah Judge Tony Graf ruled on how much of Tyler Robinson's court proceedings should remain sealed, ultimately ordering only minimal redactions to an 83-page transcript and affirming that public access to the case outweighed most privacy and security objections raised by either side.
