Andrew Kolvet Breaks Down Trump's Blizzard of Executive Actions Freezing Federal Grants and Ramping Up Deportations

Andrew Kolvet fills in for Charlie Kirk to unpack the whirlwind of Trump administration actions that have the regime media in a panic. From freezing trillions in federal grants and loans to historic lows in border crossings, the new administration is moving at breakneck speed. Meanwhile, ICE raids target gang members across major cities, including a Tren de Aragua kingpin in New York City where Kristi Noem joined operations. As celebrities like Selena Gomez shed tears over deportations, Kolvet asks where their compassion was for victims like Laken Riley and Jocelyn Nungaray. The message is clear: America will no longer be manipulated by celebrity tears while securing borders and removing dangerous criminals from communities.

Running Government Like a Tech Startup

Andrew Kolvet, filling in for Charlie Kirk, opens by acknowledging the challenge of keeping up with the Trump administration's pace of action. For the first time, the American people are witnessing the executive branch operate like a tech startup—moving fast and breaking things on purpose. The difference is that what's being broken at the federal level desperately needs to be dismantled.

The regime media and the left are struggling to keep track of everything to be outraged about. Freezes are happening across the board: hiring freezes, federal grant freezes, aid and loan freezes, foreign grant freezes, visa freezes, and border re-entry freezes. The blizzard of executive actions continues into the second week of Trump's presidency, and the establishment is in full panic mode.

Trillions in Federal Spending Under Review

According to CNN, the White House Office of Management and Budget ordered a pause on all federal grants and loans through an internal memorandum sent out Monday. This pause potentially impacts trillions in government spending and halts public programs affecting millions of Americans. Federal agencies must temporarily pause all activities related to the obligation or dispersement of all federal financial assistance.

The memo clarifies that the pause will not affect Social Security or Medicare benefits and does not include assistance provided directly to individuals. Despite this, the regime media is pushing the narrative that Trump hates people and wants them to starve. The reality is far different—this is a temporary review providing the administration time to evaluate agency programs and determine the best uses of funding consistent with the law and the president's priorities.

Importantly, this memorandum aligns with executive orders from the previous week targeting DEI initiatives, woke gender ideology, the Green New Deal, foreign aid, and non-governmental organizations. These NGOs, including organizations like Catholic Charities, have been gaming the immigration system under the guise of refugee resettlement while profiting from taxpayer dollars. Some of these organizations charge 20-40% profit margins to resettle refugees—often from places like Afghanistan—into American communities. That gravy train is now under review.

Kristi Noem on the Ground in New York City

Another major story making headlines is Kristi Noem being photographed in New York City during ICE raids targeting gang members. The operation successfully apprehended a kingpin of Tren de Aragua. Noem was fully equipped and in the field, which drew both praise and criticism. Some dismissed it as "girl boss" optics, but Kolvet pushes back on that criticism.

The presence of top government officials in the field sends a clear message: this administration means business. Institutional prioritization at the highest levels matters, and seeing leadership engaged directly in enforcement operations demonstrates commitment. Whether people find it slightly performative or not, the symbolism and the substance both matter.

Border Crossings Plummet to Historic Lows

Meanwhile, border crossings have plummeted. Reporters who have covered the border for over a decade say they have never seen numbers this low. Across all border sectors, not a single one recorded more than 200 attempted crossings in a single day. Migrants who attempted to cross are returning with warnings: don't come, everyone is getting caught.

ICE raids are happening nationwide. In Colorado, Tren de Aragua members are being arrested. Tom Homan conducted raids in Chicago alongside Dr. Phil. New York City is seeing enforcement operations with Kristi Noem participating. The message is consistent and unmistakable: the era of catch-and-release is over.

Celebrity Tears Won't Stop Enforcement

Predictably, celebrities are responding emotionally. Selena Gomez posted a tearful video apologizing to "my people" being attacked, claiming children don't understand what's happening. She deleted the video shortly after posting it, but not before it went viral. Charlie Kirk's response post garnered over 11 million views.

Kolvet's response is direct: America will not be manipulated by celebrity tears anymore. Where were these tears for Laken Riley? Where was the outrage for Jocelyn Nungaray? Where was the compassion for Rachel Morin? Where were the celebrities when 100,000 Americans died from fentanyl poisoning every year?

The administration's approach is clear: worst first. They are targeting murderers, rapists, and pedophiles—public safety threats who have no business being in American communities. Despite propaganda claims, ICE is not raiding schools and playgrounds. The focus remains on removing dangerous criminals. If bad actors hide in those locations, authorities reserve the right to pursue them there, but that is not the current operational focus.

No More Business as Usual

The Trump administration is demonstrating that the federal government can operate with urgency, precision, and accountability. By pausing trillions in federal spending for review, cracking down on NGOs profiting from illegal immigration, and conducting targeted enforcement operations, the new administration is breaking the old playbook.

The regime media will continue to spin narratives of cruelty and chaos. Celebrities will continue to cry on camera. But the mission moves forward. Borders will be secured. Dangerous criminals will be deported. And the American people will finally see a government that prioritizes their safety and their tax dollars over virtue signaling and open borders ideology.
