Tom Homan Unveils Mass Deportation Strategy and Plans to Rescue 300,000 Missing Migrant Children Under Trump Administration

Tom Homan, incoming Border Czar under President Trump, addresses Phoenix residents about the administration's plan to secure the border and launch the largest deportation operation in American history. Homan shares operational details about coordinating multiple federal agencies, confronting sanctuary cities, and rescuing over 300,000 missing children lost under the Biden administration. He discusses specific threats from Venezuelan gangs in suburban neighborhoods, the terror watch list concerns among 2.2 million gotaways, and why he's prepared to challenge governors and mayors who refuse to cooperate. With 20,000 agents ready to act starting January 21st, Homan promises to prioritize public safety threats, restore law enforcement to county jails, and make America safe again through transparent, humane operations that enforce immigration law without apology.

A New Era of Border Security Begins

Tom Homan opened his address to Phoenix residents by acknowledging his history as a special agent in the area before declaring that things are about to get significantly better. He immediately addressed the pressing concern of Venezuelan gangs with deportation notices breaking into suburban neighborhoods while the governor refuses to act. Starting January 20th, when Donald Trump takes the oath of office, Homan promised three major priorities: securing the border, launching the biggest deportation operation the country has ever seen, and finding over 300,000 missing children that the current administration has lost through trafficking.

Homan emphasized that much of what needs to be done doesn't require thoughtful deliberation—it requires will. With 20,000 agents ready to execute the mission starting January 21st, he made clear that the Trump administration possesses that will. Working under what he considers the most effective president in American history, Homan committed to showing the country what it means to be great again, safe again, and to have a sovereign nation with secure borders.

Coordinating Multiple Federal Agencies

The role of Border Czar, officially titled Senior Advisor to the President, was created to solve a coordination problem. Multiple departments touch border issues: the Department of Homeland Security oversees CBP and ICE, the Department of Justice handles immigration judges and the Bureau of Prisons, Health and Human Services manages children and families, and the Department of Interior has border responsibilities. Previously, seven separate channels reported to the president concerning border matters. Now there's one: Tom Homan.

This streamlined structure will enable efficient, coordinated operations with all departments working together to secure the border in record time. Homan will work closely with incoming DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, whom he praised for asking intelligent questions that demonstrated significant understanding during their initial meetings. Despite media criticism about her qualifications, Homan expressed confidence that she's committed for the long term and will be an outstanding secretary.

The personnel involved include Border Patrol, ICE with approximately 8,000 agents, and Homeland Security Investigations with about 6,000 agents. Homan is pushing to bring the Department of Defense into the operation to handle non-enforcement jobs like processing, infrastructure, and transportation, which would free up significantly more personnel with arrest authority to focus on apprehending dangerous individuals. He also noted that having Kash Patel as Attorney General provides another strong ally in the effort.

Day One Executive Orders

Immediately after President Trump completes the inauguration ceremony on January 20th, Homan plans to advise signing executive orders that will fundamentally change immigration enforcement. The primary action will be removing restrictions on ICE agents, allowing them to do the job they're supposed to do. Currently, Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas—whom Homan believes should have been impeached on his first day—has instructed ICE that if someone is in the country illegally without a serious criminal conviction, agents cannot arrest them. This amounts to telling immigration officers not to enforce immigration law.

Day one will change ICE priorities to focus on public safety threats and national security threats as the most pressing dangers, though no one in the country illegally will be off the table. The Remain in Mexico program needs to return, as do Third Safe Country agreements. Homan hopes for Title 42 authority to help with border operations and interior enforcement. He's also seeking assistance from other agencies including US Marshals and the FBI, viewing this as requiring a whole-of-government approach.

The urgency stems from what Homan identifies as the biggest national security vulnerability in his lifetime. With 2.2 million gotaways and over 300 people on the terror watch list already arrested at the Southwest border, he considers it foolish to think that among those millions of unknown crossers, not a single person came to harm America.

Building Partnerships Across States

Before even taking office, Homan has been actively building relationships and operational capacity. He traveled to Texas to work with Governor Abbott on continuing the border security work Texas has been doing. He met with the National Sheriff's Association, where hundreds of sheriffs committed to participating in the 287(g) program to help in jails and on the street.

Perhaps most surprising, Homan secured cooperation from New York City Mayor Eric Adams. For two years, Homan had criticized Adams for abandoning his law enforcement background to become a politician who wouldn't help ICE. However, after sitting down together, Adams committed to granting ICE access to Rikers Island jail—a massive facility—and agreed to let his officers assist in finding public safety threats to make New York City safer. Adams also pledged to help locate missing children likely caught in sex trafficking and forced labor operations in the city. Homan expressed hope that Adams' actions will match his words.

Confronting Sanctuary Cities

Homan addressed the inevitable legal challenges from organizations like the ACLU, but made clear they won't stop the mission. He expects lawsuits from day one and plans to be in Chicago, Illinois on January 21st to demonstrate to the mayor that ICE is coming despite any local resistance. Aurora, Colorado is also high on the priority list, with Homan delivering a direct message to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua: his gang is bigger than theirs, and they will be removed from American streets and sent back to Venezuela or elsewhere—but they won't be staying.

When reminded that the mayor of Aurora and Colorado's governor said ICE isn't welcome, Homan's response was simple: watch me. Federal authority extends to all 50 states plus territories like American Samoa, Puerto Rico, and Guam—and Colorado falls within that jurisdiction. He expressed disbelief that any elected mayor or governor wouldn't want public safety threats removed from their communities, calling that their number one responsibility. President Trump has promised to address illegal alien crime, and that's exactly what will happen.

Regarding threats from Illinois Governor JB Pritzker who said he's willing to be arrested to stop deportations, Homan noted they have something in common: Pritzker is willing to go to jail, and Homan is willing to put him there if that's what it takes. He clarified that while he won't personally prosecute anyone, US attorneys will if officials cross legal lines. He directed everyone to read Title 8 United States Code Section 1324(a)(1)(A), which states that knowingly harboring and concealing an illegal alien from ICE is a felony.

The Sanctuary City Lie

Homan systematically dismantled the justification for sanctuary city policies. These jurisdictions claim they need sanctuary status to protect victims and witnesses of crimes so they feel comfortable approaching law enforcement without fear of immigration consequences. Homan called this argument complete nonsense. ICE doesn't want to interview victims and witnesses—they want access to county jails where dangerous criminals are already locked up in cells. ICE operations don't involve victims or witnesses at all.

Using basic common sense, he asked whether victims and witnesses of crimes want the perpetrator back in their community. Of course not. Most immigrant communities, even those in the country illegally, are family-oriented, God-fearing people who don't want predators or child molesters in their neighborhoods either. If politicians asked immigrant communities whether they'd rather see ICE operate in county jails or in their neighborhoods, they'd choose jails every time.

Sanctuary cities actually protect criminals. This explains the high crime rates in places like Chicago and New York—criminals flock to sanctuary cities because they can commit crimes knowing ICE won't be called. These policies are dangerous for immigrant communities, law enforcement officers, and the aliens themselves. It's far safer to apprehend someone in the safety and security of a county jail than to knock on doors in communities where suspects have access to unknown weapons. President Trump is committed to ending this dangerous concept.

ACLU's Obstruction Plans

When informed about an MSNBC interview where ACLU head Anthony Romero told Rachel Maddow that the organization plans to have cities deny federal government access to jails and expunge criminal records of deportable individuals so they no longer show DUI convictions or other crimes, Homan's frustration was evident. Romero specifically said cities need to "sever relationships" with the federal government and declare jails "off limits to federal agents."

Homan responded that he'll see them in court, but expressed shock that a group of attorneys who took an oath to enforce and abide by the laws of the country would work against law enforcement. He noted how upside down the world has become—his grandfather was a cop, his father was a cop, and he always knew he'd be a cop in a world where law enforcement was respected. Now groups like the ACLU portray those who enforce laws as bad guys while treating those who break laws as victims. The Trump administration will change that dynamic.

To those who want to sever relationships with the federal government, Homan suggested starting by cutting off federal funds. When Medicare, Social Security, and food stamp benefits suddenly stop flowing into places like San Francisco, the resistance will last about two hours. He made clear he's not running a popularity contest and doesn't care if half the country ends up hating him—the job will get done.

Preparing for the Media War

Homan acknowledged to President Trump that a massive psychological media operation is coming. There will be images of crying children and families designed to generate emotional opposition. Immigration enforcement has always been controversial and emotional, but the nation is based on laws that must be enforced. If someone enters the country illegally, that is a crime. Homan expressed frustration with hearing that illegal aliens commit fewer crimes than American citizens, pointing out that every illegal alien is by definition a criminal for entering illegally.

The attacks have already started. Homan revealed he's received numerous death threats and has moved his family to an undisclosed location for safety. The threats come simply because he wants to enforce the law. But the opposition won't stop the mission. To control the messaging, Homan plans weekly press briefings showing the American people who was arrested, why they were arrested, and where they were found. The briefings will highlight cases like Laken Riley, the young woman at the University of Georgia whose killer was arrested in New York City but released by the sanctuary city instead of being turned over to ICE, allowing him to travel to Georgia and take her life.

These transparent weekly updates will detail which sanctuary cities put dangerous people back on the streets. Homan wants to avoid the messaging failure of the first Trump administration's Zero Tolerance policy, where the left controlled the narrative and the administration didn't respond quickly enough. To this day, media stories refer to him as the "grandfather of family separation."

The Truth About Zero Tolerance

Homan explained that Zero Tolerance wasn't implemented to be inhumane or cruel—it was an attempt to save lives. Children were dying at the border daily. Women and children were being sexually assaulted daily. People were dying every day. The thinking was that prosecuting illegal border crossers might deter future attempts, and it worked—crossings went down significantly.

The current administration has conducted over 300,000 separations and can't locate the children, yet no one talks about that. No one discusses the thousands of separations where American parents had to bury children killed by people who weren't supposed to be in the country—permanent separations. The new administration will be transparent and maintain public faith through humane operations that enforce the law without apology.

Clarifying Deportation of Citizens

Addressing media claims that he plans to deport US citizen children, Homan set the record straight: they cannot deport US citizen children. That will be up to the parent. If someone entered the country illegally knowing their status was unlawful and then had a child, they put themselves in that position. When deported, they can leave the child in the US or take the child with them, but having a US citizen child doesn't grant the parent a stay, amnesty, or cancellation of their removal order.

If that became the message sent to the world—that having a US citizen child prevents deportation—the border crisis would never be fixed. More women would be raped, more children would die. The administration will put a stop to the violence, death at the border, and migrant deaths within the United States.

The Terror Threat

One of the most chilling aspects of the current border crisis involves potential terrorist threats from gotaways who might possess dirty bombs, chemical weapons, or be scouting critical infrastructure. Border Patrol has arrested people from 180 different countries, some of which sponsor terrorism. Over 300 people on terror watch lists were encountered at the border—and Homan noted these were likely not the smartest terrorists since trained operatives know to avoid law enforcement detection.

With 2.2 million gotaways, the real question is how many came from countries that sponsor terrorism. Nobody knows. Even FBI Director Christopher Wray, for whom Homan has zero respect, agrees the Southwest border is a gateway to terrorism. After 9/11, America created extensive databases and screening procedures—TSA no-fly lists, FBI screening databases, DHS intelligence databases, and rigorous visa security programs that successfully prevented thousands of people from obtaining visas based on derogatory information.

However, what terrorist today would go through visa vetting procedures when they can simply go to Mexico, pay cartels extra money, and become a gotaway? This is the critical question: people pay cartels different amounts depending on their goals. Pay one amount and the cartel's job ends at the border—you see a green uniform and turn yourself in for processing, receiving a free airline ticket to your destination, free hotel room, three meals a day, free medical care, and work authorization within 90 days.

But 2.2 million people paid significantly more money NOT to receive those benefits. Why? Because they didn't want to be vetted or fingerprinted. This reality should terrify everyone.

Operational Changes at the Border

Starting January 21st, when cartels show up with groups of people and they encounter Border Patrol agents, they won't be processed and released. They'll be detained and deported. The Remain in Mexico program will hopefully return, requiring asylum claimants to wait in Mexico for their hearings rather than being released into the United States.

Immigration court data from the last decade reveals a critical fact: nearly nine out of ten people (actually 86.7% in recent statistics) who claim asylum at the border ultimately receive removal orders because they don't qualify for asylum. They're not escaping fear and persecution from their home government based on race, religion, political affiliation, or participation in a specific social group—the actual standards for asylum. They're coming for jobs and better lives, which is understandable but doesn't meet asylum criteria.

This widespread asylum fraud means people with genuine asylum claims who really are escaping persecution are stuck waiting. Contrary to claims that mass deportation is racist and inhumane, Homan argues it's absolutely necessary. When millions of people cross the border making fraudulent asylum claims and nine out of ten receive removal orders, those orders must be executed or the entire system becomes meaningless. Courts become irrelevant. Border Patrol becomes pointless. There must be consequences, and at the end of historic massive illegal immigration, there must be mass deportation.

The Unknown Numbers

When asked how many illegal aliens are currently in the nation, Homan gave a sobering answer: the government has claimed 12 million for two decades, but the real number is certainly well over 20 million—and truthfully, nobody knows. The strongest nation in the world doesn't know how many people are illegally within its borders. Under the Biden administration alone, 10.5 million illegal entries occurred—those are just the known encounters.

The term "known gotaways" refers to people captured on video, detected by traffic sensors, or who left footprints or other signs in areas where Border Patrol couldn't respond because agents were too busy changing diapers, making baby formula, and managing the humanitarian crisis. But there are also unknown gotaways in areas like Texas' Big Bend sector—very mountainous terrain where a thousand people could cross without detection because patrols lack the necessary technology. Biden stopped building that infrastructure on day one.

The northern border presents another blind spot. With very few agents assigned there and half of those reassigned to the southern border under Biden while the other half processed illegal aliens from the south, there's minimal patrol coverage. Living on the northern border himself, Homan noted you can cross the St. Lawrence River in the Thousand Islands in a minute and a half. Lake, river, and road patrols are sparse, creating dangerous vulnerabilities. What's happening on the northern border is largely unknown, making the current situation both scary and, in Homan's view, almost treasonous.

A Call for Public Assistance

Homan concluded by deputizing every American to help find the 300,000 missing children. As parents know instinctively when something isn't right—whether seeing a child in a workplace or in an uncomfortable situation—he's counting on those instincts. The administration will create an 800 number for reporting suspicious situations. Even if only one out of a thousand calls turns out to be legitimate, lives will be saved. The mission is clear: Tom Homan is going to rescue those 300,000 missing children.
