Charlie Kirk at Without Walls Church

thank you everybody thank you please take a seat thank you so usually I speak at a lot of churches uh pastors will bring me in to try and bring an energetic spark to their church that's not the case here I think that um I'm here to kind of bring down the the energy a little bit so it's kind of a new thing I was watching during worship um so I was race Presbyterian I'm no longer Presbyterian our idea of really excitable worship is like raising your finger um if you do that in the Presbyterian Church you're like way out of line and they report you um you dare get too excited during worship so this is just awesome and here's how I know I love this church um a fasting church is um a Biblical church and is an act of church we're going to talk a little about fasting I'm super interested in the topic for a variety of different reasons because it's the exact opposite of what the world tells you to do and it is it is a challenge to your fleshly desire fasting is so much deeper than I think people actually lies we're going to talk a little bit about that and I think it's it creates good citizens I'm a big believer in that that's why Daniel fasted and prayed for the nation it creates people that care about what's happening around them it heightens your sense of awareness literally the Neuroscience shows that so for those of you that um kind of don't kind of know what I do or why I do it um thank you for having me at your church I'm a bible-believing Christian I believe in the inerrancy of scripture Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and the chairman of the board of my life I believe in the Trinity the nicean Creed and I've basically I have a lot of different uh jobs as you could say one of them is I visit college campuses so you don't have to and uh speak about things that are happening in the world uh and I also spread the gospel and I am unafraid to say that there is a God and you are not him and that's really when people get angry the second part not the first one uh and I think that's kind of one of the major divides in our country right now is that those two things believing that there is a God and you are not him is kind of a humbling experience for some people to also uh necessitate certain beliefs after that and so I also do a lot in the podcast and the radio space I'm always trying to make arguments uh for why the Bible is true and why young people should embrace the Bible and give their life to Christ and increasingly difficult Endeavor I guess you could say given some of the headwinds but I do see a lot of opportunity uh in more ways than one so I want to talk about a couple things uh one verse I really want us to pray over is Jeremiah 29 7. um it and I'll paraphrase it depends on what translation you have now I'm going to only do this once because there's only one service and I love having one service so I could fit all the incredibly um let's say memorable moments into one service so I I get more hate mail under this one topic than anything else you might say oh Charlie what are you going to bring up it's it's the lack of real Bibles okay let's just be honest the fact that that we are now going to Bible apps now I get so much hate mail from people on this but hear me out okay so when I say let's open our Bibles and I see a lot of screens I love you guys I'm gonna ask you to pray about why we should get back to physical Bibles here's why I'm going to give you a couple reasons um first of all satan would love nothing more than to try to get into your Bible reading now I don't know about you whenever I do my Bible reading on an iPad or an iPhone all of a sudden next thing you know I'm like magically looking at some Tick Tock video someone sent me I'm gonna tick tock on my phone I don't even know how it happens um Satan would love nothing more than the ability to interrupt to distract you from your Bible reading that's number one number two uh it allows people around me to know that that's the only thing I'm doing so when I'm reading my Bible my wife doesn't have to wonder if I'm flipping through my emails or if I'm doing something else now I'm not saying that if you read your Bible on your app you're a bad person or anything that's a ton of moral judgment but I think you would agree that there's something special that when you grow an attachment to the weight and the object of something I don't know about you now this is not my Bible this was given to me uh before and it's been very well read and highlighted and all that my Bible is very similar to that where it becomes an extension of you it's an object that you've prayed over that you've cried over that you carry with that there's a sense of comfort that as soon as you lift it up and it's only for that purpose when I lift up my phone it's a thing of anxiety it's not exactly something that I feel as if 99 times out of 100 my phone makes me a little more nervous and a little more in the world than not of the word so I'd love to see a Revival of physical Bibles in the American Church how about that okay I would love to see that so I always get the most thunderous Applause from the seniors in the room the kids are like you don't know you're talking about or like whatever just just hear me out on that okay so in Jeremiah 29 7 it says demand the welfare of the nation that you are in because your welfare is tied to the nation's welfare that is the Lord speaking uh it's right before one of the most famous verses in the Bible Jeremiah 29 11 that is commonly cited but Jeremiah 29 7 is not as commonly cited and basically the Lord is saying hey you got to care about what's happening in your country this is God speaking now some people say Charlie you know I don't want to hear about what's happening all I care about is the word of God I care about the gospel I care about you know the inerrancy of scripture and all that that's the most important thing and I fully admit my day job is about the second most important thing and I'll get to what the second most important thing is in a second which is what it's saying in Jeremiah 29 7. the second most important thing supports the first thing the first thing is winning souls for Christ is spreading the good news is communicating that you need Jesus Christ right now in your life and you need to be transformed by him so what could possibly the second most important thing is to make sure you could do the first thing because if right now if you were having this church service in parts of Canada you'd be arrested and I'm not exaggerating try having a church service like this in Australia no seriously this idea that government doesn't matter to the spread of the Gospel or the or the Gathering of Believers how we've ever allowed ourselves to believe such a thing is so patently false especially right now of what's happening just in the western world because whether you might not like it it might make you uncomfortable it might not be something you want to talk about the type of government you have matters with how easily or how freely you are able to spread the gospel and um let's pray for this guy I think he needs that and Jesus Christ I think is uh something we all need um and uh so that's how you know you're right over the Target by the way is when uh [Applause] and I do pray he knows that interrupting a church service is a federal hate crime I do pray he knows that so um which is true so um we'll see what happens next so uh thank you to the great security you guys did a wonderful job thank you for that we appreciate that so so we must understand the type of government we have matters and right now in Arizona and America thankfully because somebody pushed people push back all of a sudden there was a lot of churches that were persecuted for being open that were fined that were measured but thankfully because the type of government we have where the States created the Federal Government the federal government did not create the states we have this opportunity we're all here to be here in person it says in the Bible do not forsake the Gathering of believers and it's easy to take this for granted I get it now some Christians will say Charlie I don't care about anything that's happening of course the government's going to be tyrannical it's going to be autocratic Jesus is coming next Thursday I couldn't care less now I'm not here to get into eschatology right I'm not I I think that there's a lot of great commentary I think understanding biblical prophecy is a mandate that we as Christians have you must look at the signs the times we must know what's happening however if you ever allow your eschatology which means end times the study of things at the end to being an excuse then you're not reading what Jesus told you to say he said occupy till I come and to be Salt and Light because it's tempting I get it things are not falling apart Charlie they're falling into place therefore I'm going to run to the hills and Jesus is going to zap us up he might be right but that's not what Jesus told you to do you're supposed to lean in at the difficult moments right you're supposed to lean in when it gets hard you're supposed to lean in to the persecution and I know that could be hard because it could be tempting to say we want to disengage we need the exact opposite posture and so we're called to care about what happens around us and we saw in this last chapter hundreds if not thousands of Pastors in this country and churches forcibly closed I think of my friend in this country at Calvary Chapel San Jose up in the Bay Area who is facing five million dollars in fines and potential criminal prosecution for doing what what we're doing right now the type of government versus even San Jose and Mesa or Phoenix matter so much that that's they're going to try to bankrupt his church and guess what he says Charlie I would do it in a heartbeat again we have we have baptized hundreds of people and it's just money they could do whatever they want to and so and that's in our own country and you know it's it's we have it we have been given the blessing thanks to the sacrifices of generations before us and the framework put in place by our founding fathers to be able not to care however I think that's starting to change I think a lot of people in the church and in the body especially in the last couple years have realized like whoa all of a sudden what we thought was something I didn't have to care about it started to care about me and so we've heard many different times the separation of church and state I don't have to get into kind of the um how that's not in our constitution how that is misquoted it's a singular letter Thomas Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptist convention I have to get into all that I'm happy too if anyone's interested at a later time or you could listen to my podcast I've done many multiple hours of study on that but let's pretend it's true Let's Pretend that's the law of the land let's pretend that wasn't just pulled out of the Hat by some Supreme Court Justice uh in the 1960s which it was then why don't we keep the state out of the church then why don't we say why don't we say the state has no business telling a church whether or not they're able to give communion whether or not they're able to say whether or not you're able to have Easter Service and so this is a tough fight and I get it and I'm my call to you is not to say that you have to be as engaged as I am on a daily basis of this stuff everyone has called for something different some of you right now you are called to minister to people that need addiction recovery some of you right now you're called to your amazing music by the way some of the best music I've heard um honestly is unbelievable you guys are so blessed so good however that doesn't mean it could it shouldn't it shouldn't matter at all and so it's the question of should you as a Christian care about what it means to be a Biblical citizen what is a citizen so in most of human history people live as subjects slaves or serfs a citizen is a very rare thing a citizen is someone who has a say a citizen someone who is able to do something about the government around them and that's a rare thing in Australia right now it's much more like serps and subjects than it is like citizens now most people say what and this is how kind of twist that our Western media is they just deported a Serbian tennis player because he didn't have his vaccination status even though he's had covet a couple times if you leave a 10 Mile Square radius in one part of um either Melbourne or another part of Australia I can't remember which one it is you get arrested curfew after 10 pm this is Australia which is in the Western Hemisphere and again people say well Charlie that will never happen here I I I laugh I kind of shrug my shoulders and I say really I'm not allowed in a restaurant in New York City or in Los Angeles or San Francisco because I have made a personal medical decision that people disagree with and everyone should have to make their own medical decision I'm not here to tell you what to do just make your own decisions right that that used to be kind of a fundamental American value and so what's the solution to this right and should we care that's the other thing and I think I'm building out an easy answer some people say Charlie nowhere in the Bible does it say that we should care about the type of government we have well then you're going to have to get rid of Daniel Mordecai Esther Jeremiah Nehemiah and every single Old Testament figure that cared about the type of government around them Daniel fasted and prayed about the nation the political matters around him and Daniel even went so as far so far to openly defy the Edict of the king when it defied God's Commandments and what God had called him to do which is a separate issue on civil disobedience uh which was a message I was giving more when um some of these nonsensical matters were happening because there's questions about Romans 13 and all these things happy to go through that if we have time but um that's that's a separate issue in some sense here is the essence of it whether we want to admit it or not this country is founded by bible-believing Christians 55 out of 56 of the signers of the Declaration of Independence where regular Church attending bible-believing church uh Christians John Adams understood and spoke fluent Hebrew here's how I knew the founding fathers were awesome okay they put Leviticus on the Liberty Bell okay Leviticus okay now look if they put Proverbs which my wonderful friend gave me this really nice band it's a Proverbs 3 5-6 like that's like a bumper sticker you know for Christianity trust the you know trust in the Lord not only not an understanding like awesome no Leviticus okay again not John like Leviticus for those of you that have read the Bible cover to cover which I highly encourage you to do it takes that that isn't that is a that is really a test of the will once you get to Leviticus okay and all of God's word is important to consume some harder to consume than others right and the founding fathers knew the word and they knew that freedom was not being able to do whatever you want to do whenever you wanted to do it instead they knew that freedom was pursuing virtue and things that were objectively good now that's a hard thing to say in America because I'll give you a really good example of this and I was just um talking to Mikey on our team about this this morning so under the false impression of Liberty or Freedom they're not interchangeable but they're they're similar We As Americans have been propagandized to believe that all practices and all assemblies are equal who are we to judge right that's something we hear a lot okay I'm going to make a judgment at in Moline Illinois the public school is coming out and they're saying hey we cannot prevent the Church of Satan from coming into the public school and conducting religious ceremonies that's what they say Liberty is uh no it's not I'm happy to say that we should use government power to say the Church of Satan should be nowhere near our public school children or our taxpayer dollars like where do you draw the line I don't know Satan like that would be a good line um and that's not exactly that complicated here's the point we've been we have as Christians have been have believed this idea of all viewpoints are the same we must be respectful about this obviously but all of a sudden when you have in public schools literally the Church of Satan I'll give you another example some of you don't even know this in a couple days in Scottsdale uh the Church of Satan is having a ceremony and the Scottsdale government says there's nothing we can do about it we have to give equal opportunity to the satanists that we give to the Christians I must have missed the entire part of the Declaration of Independence where it said you know the laws of Lucifer and Lucifer no actually there's the laws of nature and Nature's God actually and where George Washington said the Bible's the greatest book ever to be written in our civilization is based upon it so you see this is what happens when we allow this slippage and I'm not being alarmist you could go look it up go fact check it yourself go look at the satanic conference that's happening in the Scots in Scottsdale government happening in a couple days a couple weeks and we're fooling ourselves if this if we think this is not a spiritual war um just manifested in the physical I'm gonna get to that in just a second so what's the solution the church has to rise up the church founded this country the church starting with the first Great Awakening of Jonathan Edwards and George Whitfield and Jonathan Mayhew were preaching the word of God verse by verse and chapter by chapter and inspired a Revival that started the greatest country ever to exist in the history of the world the church has always been as I want you to think of kind of a trust fall every time America Falls the church is there to catch it and put it back in place most recently America very well could have went a very disturbing atheistic communist Direction in the 1950s who caught it a man by the name of Billy Graham who gave thousands of open-air revivals that I think everyone in this room has been impacted by Billy Graham in one way or the other but he was unafraid to say quote that communism and socialism is Satan's religion that if we should never lose the constitutional republic of separation of powers checks and balances and one that protects religious and Christian Freedom he was unafraid to say that some pastors if they were to say that today people would leave in droves and the congregation would win him and that I do want to comment on that and I just want to thank this amazing church for having me um as you notice I keep things very scriptural very biblical with that being said it is now an act of courage to have me come speak at your church and your wonderful pastoral team and your leadership team I think deserve some Applause so thank you for that that says something about your team it really does so okay the church has to rise up in every capacity in how we educate our children and how we communicate what's happened so let me tell you what happens when the church doesn't do this when the church doesn't do this like hey we we don't get into these matters too controversial too messy too blurry well then the mom who has a 15 or 16 year old daughter who comes home one day and says hey I think I'm a man which is happening at a disturbing rate in our country and goes to the pastor and says Hey what how do I make senses oh sorry we don't touch those issues in our church we don't we don't talk about that that's doing a disservice to your flock it's a disservice to your congregation now you might not like the answers the word of God has to say you might not it might disagree with how you see the world but nevertheless it is a moral obligation for the church to take stands on these things okay and all throughout the Bible we've seen that time and time again and so one of the most quoted scriptures is in um in Matthew when Jesus brings up his disciples to the mouth of the Jordan River at caesarea Philippi and there's this dialogue who do men say that I am and it ends with Jesus Christ saying on this rock build my church now that one quote has been used in a variety of different ways in a variety of different Fashions uh and I have a I have a soft spot for Catholics I really do my grandmother was Catholic but I am not a Catholic um I I don't like a lot of the anti-catholic energy honestly sometimes out there I think it's really destructive but I have some huge difference in the Catholic church but the Catholic Church would say that means we should have one church and it should be in Rome I don't see it that way other people look at it differently but if you look back at the word church it was a Greek word that was Ecclesia and Ecclesia was public gathering which was an Ecclesia in ancient Greece was actually where people fasted and prayed and came and voted about the issues and the manners that were happening around you and so if you look at it in the actual Greek it says Jesus says on this rock build my place that is going to impact everything in the world the place that's going to care about music entertainment culture government going to care about right and wrong and it's easy I get it to wall off your church however that probably doesn't work in this church right it's it's it's the one church that I could say that I don't have to sell you on not building a wall around your church is that fair okay good which is it's harder to take stances on issues it's harder to dive deep to say hey we're going to do a two-hour Forum on what the Bible says about these issues but I think in these times people want to dive deeper and they want to get to the root of it so speaking of the root of it um we all know this is a spiritual war I just gave you the couple satanic examples first of all there's a growth of atheism and there's a growth of kind of agnosticism agnosticism isn't as much of a issue for me atheism I think is so foolish and it must be confronted amongst young people and just just so you understand what atheists believe not agnostics they believe that every truth claim in this is wrong I want you to think about that that's their opening argument their opening argument is the 66 books everything that happened here is wrong that we know so well that there's nothing I've committed to a worldview of that now a couple thoughts on atheism number one it's one of the fastest growing belief systems some people call it a religion in America it's very attractive uh it's attractive because if there is no God then you can kind of fill the void and you could become God yourself that's number one number two um without well this is just a kind of a true statement without God there would be no atheists it drives them nuts when you say that so feel free to repeat that um and look you've heard this before I just pointed out the book uh previously I don't have enough Faith to be an atheist I don't either I don't have enough Faith to believe the Miracle of Life or our genetic code or deoxyribonucleic acid or the 27 amino acids that just so perfectly form um somehow this is an act of Randomness there's a great resource for parents out there and this is something that the church should be talking about no matter what it's a book called deniable Darwin it's really good it's actually written by secular scientists that say we don't know what we believe but we know Darwin was wrong and we could prove it mathematically I encourage every parent to check it out it's co-sponsored by The Discovery Institute if you don't know what the Discovery Institute is it is it is deists and Christians that have come together to make the scientific consensus that the world that we know is not an act of Randomness it really again I'm amazed at how many Christians aren't made aware of it so you guys can check it out it's called The Discovery Institute but also deniable Darwin and I don't have enough Faith to believe this is all actor Randomness I don't have enough Faith to believe that Force equals mass times acceleration and that for every action there's an equal opposite reaction and an object at rest that will stay at rest or the second law of Thermodynamics or any of this is just kind of the role of the dice I think it's actually a lot more logical and rational to believe that there's a designer behind all of that to believe that there was an architect behind it now I love C.S Lewis I encourage all of you guys to spend time over him one of the great apologists ever of the 20th century I got this bizarre email the other day someone said that he was agnostic I don't think that's true at all um again when I mention these people I'm not putting them at the pedestal of the Apostle Paul okay it's a buffet line take what you like don't take what you know some of it could be helpful and by the way it says that in the scriptures Philippians 4 8 whatever is true whatever is Noble whatever is good think on these things so find the things that are noble true and good and think on those things and C.S Lewis said look you don't have to if you see a building you know an architect was involved but just because the architect is not in the stairwell while you're there looking at the building doesn't mean there wasn't an architect involved the point is that I don't see God therefore everything around here doesn't mean that God didn't make it now if you don't see God I don't think you're looking hard enough for doing the right things however the point is it's so objectively obvious in our world that there was a Creator behind all of us it's so uh in fact I think it takes a huge leap of faith uh to believe otherwise and so now I want to talk about the spiritual component as kind of we wrap all this up and we kind of talk about how this all applies so you guys are all fasting right now sort of Daniel Fast first week was awesome so look I'm not a good pastor I'm very honest okay there's some things I'm good at there's some things I'm not good at I do fast um I I I'll openly admit I take the easiest way to fast which is big meal right before you go to bed and then sleep in and then you just get through the rest of the day right that that is the easiest no it is okay fully admitted I'm not a better person than you are no it's it's I I struggle with Hunger okay I do um and some people are great fasters they're built for it like Jensen Franklin is a friend of mine he fasts for like 45 days and I don't get it it's just not but however fasting's really important and the Daniel Fast is awesome just eating things from the earth and it's really hard but what what is fasting essentially Matthew 4 is probably one of the great verses when it comes to spiritual warfare fasting and kind of the application of what you're going through and going to go through is that fasting is denying your flesh it is a will is an act of the will that you are basically surrendering to God and saying that what I want right now is not as important as you that is the practice of fasting is that I'm going to go through the hourly sometimes minute by minute process don't you see how time slows down when you fast now there's there's a lot of Neuroscience behind this which is back when our ancestors were in Mount you know uh in the Sinai desert um kind of just looking for food and God blew Quail of course and Manna From Heaven but before that they God designed our bodies to actually read divert energy to where it's most needed and so when all of a sudden you go to 20 hours or 30 hours without eating your body starts to redirect energy away from digestion not a lot of action happening there to your brain that's why you think so clearly at your 30th hour of fast amongst other spiritual components and reasons but just the Neuroscience of it is that your brain's like I need food I need to think so clearly I need to figure out what's going on so I could feed my body it's happening out even realizing it whether you want to do it or not now once you get to hour 72 you know out there's a little bit of a tapering effect sort of but I I don't know for you for for me I have some of my great breakthroughs and some of my best times with God when I'm fasting because it's like a minute by minute process however here's just and you're probably experiencing this while you fast and this what Matthew 4 tells us which is when you fast other fleshly Temptations are going to try to come your way now the obvious ones you could think of probably but some of the less obvious ones you're quicker to anger quicker to gossip quicker to talk bad about somebody right all of those things start to introduce yourself because you're like I'm so hungry I'm a victim maybe I'll just indulge in XYZ and so look so it says in Matthew 4 Jesus was led up by the spirit Into the Wilderness and just just by just a small side note we have a very diverse listenership um including people that don't believe in the Trinity just read Matthew 3 it's the if you ever get confronted with that it's the Trinity right there Jesus is baptized the spirit comes upon him and God says this is my son in whom I'm pleased pretty simple right so just as a side note so the spirit leads Jesus up in the wilderness he fasted for 40 days and 40 nights again 40 minutes is tough for me like let's with it it's that ultimate you're not you when you're hungry commercial um and so the tempter came to him now you go back to the Greek tempter prosecutor Satan Satan means prosecutor in the Hebrew and you think about it it's totally true true when you sin what does Satan do he taunts you with it and so before you sin makes himself is that your ally and then after you sin he makes you he's the prosecutor oh don't worry it's okay you can get away with it you deserve it and the moment you sin totally change his face you notice that goes goes from someone that tries to tempt you into it to immediately try to prosecute for you for it and so okay leads Jesus Into the Wilderness all of you know this story but there's such beautiful um uh depth to the story that I think sometimes gets overlooked if you are the Son of God command that these Stones become bread so tempting Jesus teasing Jesus and then Jesus says it is written man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God so then the devil took him up to the holy city and set him on the Pinnacle of the temple and said to him if you are the Son of God throw yourself down for it is written he shall give his angels charge over you and in their hands they shall bear up lest you dash your foot against a stone and Jesus said to him it is written again you shall not tempt the Lord your God now if you notice it continues a little more temptation but Jesus never challenges Satan that he's able to give the immediate gratification of the temporal Earth Jesus calls Satan the prince of this world Paul calls calls Satan the God of this world now basically we have to admit we're an enemy occupied territory we are in a fallen world that Satan is trying to say to Jesus like I'm in charge here right now that's a hard thing sometimes for us to wrap our head around but Jesus doesn't challenge it Jesus says hey look I I'm I'm not going to say that you can't distribute this and that's that that is Believers we must think about so then he says one more again the devil took him up on exceedingly high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory and said to him all these things I will give to you if you fall down and worship me and Jesus said away with you Satan which by the way if you ever feel tempted Jesus gives you that very same statement it's also reiterated in Jude 1 9 where even angel mark Angel Michael says Lord rebuke you these are this is biblical equipment for the spiritual war right away Satan Lord rebuke you these are things that you should repeat whenever you feel that kind of spiritual negativity or that spiritual attack towards you continues by saying you shall Worship the Lord your God and him and Only You Shall Serve then the devil left him and behold Jesus came to him and ministered him so we know we know something here which is the devil might quote unquote run the Earth right now but he's not everywhere the devil is not ubiquitous meaning that there will be times in your life times of your day where you'll feel more tempted and more under spiritual attack now there's a couple of thoughts like that we must share about this when does Satan tend to show up when you're tired when you're weak and You're vulnerable that's exactly what he went after Jesus right when 40 days he could have played the victim thing and it's the same for all of us after a long day of work all of a sudden that alcohol habit you've been trying to shake all of a sudden seems a lot more tempting right I've had a long day everyone treated me terribly what's one beer right or what's one visit to this website what it doesn't really matter and that's exactly when Satan tries to come into you now some some of you out there and I'm going to say this carefully say Charlie I've never been under spiritual attack I get these these notes sometimes never been under spiritual attack it's all a bunch of Mumbo jumble jumbo I say well maybe you're not doing something important enough where Satan doesn't really care about you it's true Satan has to allocate his resources this is why Elders of a church have to equip themselves differently than other people says that explicitly in the scriptures this is why every Pastor that has a growing Church without any sort of coordination you put them in a room they'll have similar sorts of spiritual issues they're dealing with and I could say this speaking over 100 churches around the country in the last 18 months with almost like mathematical Precision the churches that are growing and fighting and really pursuing righteousness they almost are always like Charlie I can't sleep I'm under these attacks Now understand that the victory is it's not your battle Jesus has already fought that battle and won that battle for you and acting as if you're the one that's going to defeat Satan like that's a bad idea instead you allow Jesus to come in and fight that battle because that battle's already won for you it's a completely different thing and everything we're seeing in the world is a manifestation of the spiritual everything and I believe that as we look at our country as we look at our civilization as we look at trying to how we're going to fix this we can't forsake that the spiritual is the root of this and as Believers we must be unafraid to say this so it says in Philippians 4 6 through 8 which I uh briefly cited says do not be anxious instead through prayer Thanksgiving and supplication allow your requests be known to God for the peace of God who transcend which transcends all understanding um which transcends all understanding will guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus and then Philippians 4 8 I can never remember all of them but it's beautiful I could look it up whatever is true whatever is no but whatever is good whatever is praiseworthy think on these things and I think the church also needs to realize that the body of Christ right now is under a lot of attack from this kind of spiritual Darkness we look around I mean I just gave some examples but darkness is being given a bigger platform than it was even 20 years ago and for some Believers they're not really sure how to deal with that or how to be able to um transform themselves Paul wrote Romans 12 2 do not conform to the ways of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that's I could do a two-hour deal on that verse because it's so it's so deep Romans is a very interesting book as your wonderful pastors will tell you um it's kind of at one time it seems Paul's just kind of ran chanting because you just he's like I'm doing things I don't want to do and I don't I don't want to do it it's Romans 7. but then there's this beautiful part in Romans 12 2 where he says listen if you want to transform yourself if you want to Rise Above This Then first you have to not conform that's really hard and I told this to younger audiences all the time they say well Charlie what is not conforming me I do that I say okay save yourself for marriage get off of social media Don't drink don't do drugs and do the difficult things don't stay out past 10 pm like well I don't want to do that I said well then you're going to be part of the world that's hard I get it I'm not saying it's easy but not conforming it said Romans 12 2 do not conform to the ways of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind and understand Satan has no claim over your heart or over your salvation after you have given your life to Christ he has no claim over that that he has he can't get in there you know what he can do though he can tease you he can go after your mind so that's what it says in Romans 12 2. you want to transform your mind you want to get you want to be where Satan can't even touch you an impenetrable force that don't conform to the ways of this world and so if you look at spiritual warfare and the people that you know experience it a lot myself included you know kind of soft part of that um that was more of a physical manifestation of the spiritual um you have to we all must understand there's a couple ways Satan does this number one it's the influences the people around you the music you listen to the things that you consume right you are you right now are a combination of Five People You spend the most time with whether you realize it or not that's who you are so Choose Wisely are you choosing biblical godly people that aren't swearing aren't cussing aren't engaging in debauchery aren't going into directions of drunkenness or you around people that are doing those things and I'm not to say that you're going to find a sinless person that's but instead are you finding someone that justifies sin and glorifies it and advertises it to totally different things right so the things you consume the people you're around you're listening to you know music with swear words in it and with things that just kind of are of a Darkness are you trying to are you trying your best to go in a pursuit of virtue and things that are light and good the second thing which is really important um is Satan loves the sins of the flesh I mentioned this before he he TR he he tries every opportunity for you to fall and you you have one or two choices it's as binary as it gets says Paul wrote this I think in Romans or Colossians or something you either live by the flesh we live by the spirit it's like your choice which one is it right and you can't live by both it's a binary choice and we obviously we want to choose that of the spirit and the final thing which is the way that you know Satan comes after us which I think is uh really important that we must understand is that you know higher levels you know bigger Devils or bigger levels you know bigger doubles which is that look when you are advancing for the kingdom like this church is expect that kind of spiritual counter-attack and you say Charlie how do I know when I'm spiritually under attack if you ever had a day where things are so chaotic you can't quite explain it when all of a sudden things are just like all over the place yeah that's that would be a good indication he is the author of confusion of chaos and of Lies not of Truth enlightened order those things are at odds with each other and so here's my final charge for all of you guys which is um it is a it is an unbelievable gift it is an investment I should say from the Lord that we get to live in the United States of America it really is and I I believe that we must contest this on every single way possible the spiritual way on the governmental way the educational way but also my charge for you is that if you love the Lord and you read the Bible and you love Liberty right because we get Liberty from Christ Liberty is God's idea not man's idea then I encourage you to pray during this fast about you might be called during this season to become a better equipped and active citizen what does that mean and if that interests you if you just feel God kind of poking at you then I encourage you to dive deeper because this country this Republic where we live right now when we experience needs people that are filled with the spirit to push back evil and content for righteousness and so we're going to be around uh to help in any way we can through our efforts at Turning Point USA and everything we're doing in that capacity as mentioned we go we do two podcasts a day three hours of radio a day from a Biblical perspective always talking about the news of the day as it matters if you guys want to check it out you could subscribe or get behind it however this is the most important thing which is that if you believe that Jesus Christ is your lord and savior then you have a Biblical obligation to contest for Liberty and the ability ability for more people to be able to give their lives to Christ I'm going to keep on focusing
