Charlie Kirk Exposes Tim Walz as Kamala Harris's Radical Vice Presidential Pick and Minnesota's Dangerous Liberal Governor

Charlie Kirk examines Tim Walz, Kamala Harris's vice presidential selection, characterizing him as the embodiment of radical left-wing politics. Kirk dissects Walz's record as Minnesota governor, focusing on his handling of the George Floyd riots, where he allegedly delayed National Guard deployment while Minneapolis burned. Kirk highlights Walz's positions on abortion, immigration, and public safety, arguing that Harris chose one of the most liberal options available rather than moderating her ticket. From sanctuary city policies to driver's licenses for undocumented immigrants, from tampons in boys' bathrooms to massive COVID-era fraud under his watch, Kirk presents Walz as a figure who represents the furthest edge of progressive governance. Kirk also addresses the controversial decision to bypass Josh Shapiro, suggesting anti-Semitism within the Democratic base played a role in Harris's choice.

The Social Studies Teacher Who Never Left the Classroom

Charlie Kirk opens with a vivid characterization of Tim Walz as the quintessential obnoxious liberal social studies teacher—someone who has never run a business, never worked a physically demanding job, and lives in theoretical abstractions disconnected from reality. Kirk positions Walz as the type of educator who tells students that communism hasn't been properly tried and that socialism is simply about being neighborly. Kirk clarifies that he has nothing against teachers as a profession, but emphasizes that Walz represents a particular type: someone who has never accomplished anything substantial outside of education yet feels qualified to impose radical left-wing ideas on society through Congress and the governor's mansion.

Kirk also flags Walz's military track record as very suspicious and worthy of examination, suggesting questions about his service that deserve scrutiny.

The George Floyd Riots and National Guard Delay

Kirk turns to what he considers one of Walz's most damning failures: his handling of the George Floyd riots in Minneapolis. According to Kirk, Walz helped ignite the worst riots the country had seen in decades. When Minneapolis began burning, Walz stalled on deploying the National Guard for an entire day, blaming the city for not submitting the right paperwork. The New York Times reported that two days after George Floyd died, with protests turning increasingly violent, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey asked Walz to deploy the National Guard. Hours later, the city's police chief submitted a written request for 600 troops, but it wasn't until the next afternoon that Walz signed an executive order allowing the guard to assist cities.

State Senator Warren Limmer, a Republican who helped lead a committee investigating the response to the unrest, stated that it was obvious Walz froze under pressure and that his personal sympathies towards protesters might have delayed a more muscular response. Kirk emphasizes that when riots are happening, an hour is a lifetime—an hour is a day. Walz waited and waffled for 20 hours in what Kirk calls an inexcusable and insane delay. Once the National Guard was finally deployed, they were able to quell the rebellion.

Adding to the controversy, Kirk claims that Walz let his daughter leak the National Guard's deployment plans online so that rioters would know how long they had to loot the city with impunity. Kirk argues that Minneapolis became a war zone because of Walz, and one of the precincts likely would not have fallen if not for his delayed response.

Inflammatory Rhetoric After Trump Assassination Attempt

Kirk accuses Walz of dangerous rhetoric, noting that just days after the attempted murder of Donald Trump, Walz called Trump and his supporters fascists, thereby egging on the same rhetoric that led to Trump being shot in the first place. Kirk presents this as evidence of Walz's extremism and lack of regard for the consequences of his words.

The Most Radical Abortion Laws in the Country

On abortion, Kirk highlights that Minnesota under Walz has the most radical abortion laws in the country—zero limits. Kirk acknowledges that while most Americans are not nearly as pro-life as he is, most Americans believe there should be some reasonable restrictions against late-term abortion. Even people who would call themselves pro-choice or pro-abortion say late-term abortion is too much, Kirk argues, because that's when the baby has fully and completely developed at 22, 23, or 24 weeks.

Minnesota, Kirk notes, is one of the late-term abortion capitals of the country. This gives Trump and JD Vance a powerful debate point: they can say they want to bring abortion policy back to the states, but in the state of Walz—Kamala Harris's running mate—there are no restrictions whatsoever on abortion.

Open Border Zealot and Sanctuary State Advocate

Kirk characterizes Walz as an open border zealot who has repeatedly advocated for driver's licenses for foreigners and sanctuary cities. Kirk plays clips of Walz stating that if the definition of a sanctuary state is that the federal government enforces immigration law and local law enforcement enforces local law, then yes, Minnesota should be a sanctuary state. When asked if cities should be allowed to be sanctuary cities, Walz responded with a simple yes, citing local control.

Walz also signed into law legislation giving driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants regardless of their immigration status. Kirk shows footage of a packed room at the St. Paul Armory erupting after the governor's signature made driver's licenses for all the law of the land.

In another clip, Walz appeared on CNN joking about the border wall, saying he should invest in a ladder factory to help foreigners climb it. When discussing a wall proposal, Walz said, "Let me know how high it is. If it's 25 feet, then I'll invest in the 30-foot ladder factory. That's not how you stop this." Kirk presents this as evidence that Walz will enshrine Biden's invasion and make it permanent.

Equity Over Order During the BLM Riots

During the BLM riots, Kirk notes, Governor Walz was talking about equity, saying that they want fundamental change—not talking against the riots or the bedlam that was caused where Minnesota was burned to a crisp. In a clip Kirk presents, Walz stated: "A society that does not put equity and inclusion at the center of it is certainly going to eventually come to the places where we're at. This is a moment of inflection. It's a moment of real change. It's a moment that those folks who are out there demanding this are not going to take a commission or a report. They're going to want fundamental change, and that is what I think—that's one of the exciting things in the midst of all this, you can feel a sense of optimism coming back."

Kirk emphasizes that this statement was made during the riots themselves, showing Walz's priorities were not restoring order but celebrating the possibility of fundamental change.

The JD Vance and Kamala Harris Tag Team on Crime

Kirk highlights JD Vance's characterization of the Walz-Harris ticket as a perfect one-two combo on crime and riots. Vance pointed out that Walz is a guy who's proposed shipping more manufacturing jobs to China, wants to make American people more reliant on what he calls garbage energy instead of good American energy, and has proposed defunding the police just as Kamala Harris does.

Vance noted the interesting tag team: Tim Walz allowed rioters to burn down Minneapolis in the summer of 2020, and then the few who got caught, Kamala Harris helped bail them out of jail. Vance argued this is instructive for what it says about Kamala Harris—that she doesn't care about the border, doesn't care about crime, doesn't care about American energy, and most importantly doesn't care about the Americans who have been made to suffer under those policies.

Kirk praises Vance's current performance, saying he's in tip-top shape and great form, commanding a national audience on Real America's Voice, Fox, and all the major networks. Kirk expresses excitement about a potential Walz-Vance debate.

The Weird and Creepy Policies

Kirk addresses the "weird" characterization that has been used against conservatives, turning it back on Walz. Kirk calls Walz the weird one, the creepy person who gives very creepy vibes. He's the one who mandated tampons to be in boys' bathrooms at the age of 10—a true story, Kirk says. That's weird, that's creepy, Kirk declares.

Massive Fraud and Incompetence

Kirk details massive fraud that occurred under Walz's watch. He oversaw the single worst fraud of the COVID era—the Feeding Our Future case. Thanks to his ineptitude at the Department of Education, criminals stole $250 million of taxpayer dollars to spend on luxury cars, houses, and vacations.

Walz also approved $500 million in hero pay for frontline workers, only to have 40% of that money go to people who were actually ineligible or, in many cases, literally deceased.

Why Walz Was Selected: The Shapiro Problem

Kirk argues that Walz was not selected because he's a good candidate. In the House, he was a far-left-wing Democrat who did whatever Nancy Pelosi wanted at any time. But he was selected not for his merits but because everyone thought it was going to be Josh Shapiro, and the bigots in the Democrat Party would not put up with it.

Kirk plays a clip of Van Jones revealing the quiet part out loud about the darker elements of the Democrat Party—the base who are what Kirk characterizes as Jew haters. Jones discussed how young people concerned about Gaza, along with Muslims, Arabs, and others who haven't felt seen by the Biden Administration, needed a candidate they could feel comfortable with. Jones acknowledged that anti-Semitism has gotten "marbled into this party," stating you can be for the Palestinians without being an anti-Jewish bigot, but there are some anti-Jewish bigots out there, and there's some disquiet about how much of what just happened is caving into some of these darker parts in the party.

Kirk argues that Shapiro would have been a much better pick for Kamala Harris—there's no two ways about it. But she was worried about a 1968 Convention-style disruption at the DNC, and her elders said you cannot tear apart the Democrat Party. Kirk notes that just to be clear, Jews are still going to continue to vote for Democrats in major numbers, which he finds really sad and tragic. He presents this as a perfect example of how the base of the Democrat Party does not want Jewish Americans, though it doesn't really matter to the outcome.

That's why Tim Walz is here, Kirk concludes—not because he earned it or he's super impressive. He's a communist social studies teacher who was basically thrown into the role.

A Walking Opposition Research File

Kirk describes Walz as a walking opposition research file—you almost can't believe it when you go piece by piece. He created a snitch hotline during COVID to be able to tell on your neighbors. Kirk notes that Donald Trump and his campaign are wasting no time whatsoever, playing a Trump campaign ad that characterizes Kamala Harris as doubling down on her radical vision for America by tapping another left-wing extremist as her VP nominee.

The ad states that Tim Walz will be a rubber stamp for Kamala's dangerous liberal agenda, like allowing convicted felons to walk free, embracing anti-American Green New Deal policies, and giving up control of the southern border to criminal aliens and violent drug cartels. The ad concludes: "Kamala Harris and Tim Walz—they're failed, weak, and dangerously liberal."

The Most Left-Wing Ticket in American History

Kirk concludes by emphasizing that Americans are now looking at the most left-wing ticket in American history. From the burning of Minneapolis to the rioting and looting, and now to open borders, issue after issue, Tim Walz makes Bernie Sanders look like a moderate.

Kamala Harris could have run to the center, Kirk argues. Kamala Harris could have moderated herself. But instead, she selected one of the most radical, out-of-touch people that they could find in the entire Democrat roster. Kirk allows his audience to be the judge, but his conclusion is clear: Kamala Harris is running to her left flank. Tim Walz is unimpressive. He's a communist alongside his fellow comrade from California, and that is just a little bit of a taste of what's to come.
