JD Vance Fires Back at Kamala Harris Over Loyalty Attack and America's Failed Border Policy
JD Vance delivers a powerful response to Kamala Harris's claims about his loyalty to America, highlighting his Marine Corps service and business background while questioning her record of public service. As the newly selected vice presidential nominee, Vance breaks down the fundamental differences between the Trump-Vance ticket and the Harris agenda on immigration, economy, and America's future. He exposes Harris's radical track record on border policy, healthcare, and taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal aliens while making the case for why young voters and working families are turning away from the current administration's failed policies. Vance also shares personal insights about adjusting to life on the campaign trail with his family under Secret Service protection and his thoughts on what he calls the Democratic Party's anti-democratic process of replacing their nominee.
JD Vance responded forcefully to Kamala Harris's attack questioning his loyalty to the country. When Harris suggested Vance was only loyal to Donald Trump, he fired back with a reminder of his own service record and accomplishments versus her career as a politician.
"I don't know Kamala, I did serve in the United States Marine Corps and build a business. What the hell have you done other than collect the check?" Vance stated. He explained that his loyalty to Trump stems from the fact that Trump's agenda worked for the country, and he found it ridiculous for someone who has been a career politician her entire life to question his dedication to America.
"She says that I'm loyal only to Donald Trump, which of course I'm loyal to Donald Trump because his agenda worked for the country. I think it's ridiculous for a person with her public service career and her basic career politician, she's been in politics her entire life, to come after me for my loyalty. What has she ever done for this country? Can she point to a single significant accomplishment?" Vance challenged.
Adjusting to Life on the Campaign Trail
Vance opened up about the dramatic life changes he and his family have experienced since becoming the vice presidential nominee. His wife Usha delivered a memorable speech at the RNC that moved him to tears, and he joked that he never wants to follow her in public speaking again because she's simply better at it than he is.
The adjustment to Secret Service protection has been particularly notable for their three young children. "We have Secret Service agents crawling around our house. Our kids are sort of asking why are there police everywhere and we try to remind them that they're our friends. We went for a walk this morning with our dog and our kids and we're trailed by like 15 Secret Service agents, so it's a little weird personally but we're getting used to it," Vance shared.
Despite the personal disruptions, Vance maintains that these are small sacrifices worth making to serve the country. "It's a totally reasonable thing given what's gone on in our country, the threats of political violence, and we'll adjust as we need to because it's worth it to serve the country."
Calling Out the Democratic Party's Anti-Democratic Process
Vance didn't hold back in characterizing the replacement of Joe Biden with Kamala Harris as deeply anti-democratic, describing it as looking like a soft coup. He pointed out the irony of being told for years that his party was a threat to democracy while watching Democrat billionaires, Barack Obama, and Nancy Pelosi essentially decide in a room that the sitting president wasn't allowed to run again.
"For literally years I have been told that my party is the threat to democracy because there was a riot on January 6th at the US Capitol or because Donald Trump used constitutional means to try to challenge the results in 2020. Now they basically had a bunch of Democrat billionaires get in a room with Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi and decide that the president of the United States wasn't allowed to run again. If that isn't a threat to democracy, I don't know what is," Vance argued.
He emphasized that Democrat primary voters have been completely disenfranchised in this process, noting that whatever you think of Joe Biden's politics, he was the only one who actually won the trust and support of voters. Vance even suggested he wouldn't be shocked if Democrats tried another switch if Harris's poll numbers don't improve, showing their complete disregard for democratic processes.
The Stark Policy Contrasts
Vance outlined the clear policy differences between the Trump-Vance ticket and what he describes as the radical Kamala Harris agenda. He presented voters with a series of direct questions about the direction they want for America.
"Do you want to eliminate Social Security and Medicare, bankrupt it and give it to illegal aliens? Because that is the Kamala Harris plan. Do you want to eliminate private health insurance and replace it with Medicare for All? That is the Kamala Harris plan. Do you want to open the border to fentanyl and Mexican drug cartels? That is the Kamala Harris plan," Vance stated.
He contrasted this with Trump's clear stance: opening up American energy, shutting down the border, and protecting Social Security and Medicare from politicians who want to extend benefits to illegal aliens. Vance emphasized that the issues and the contrast couldn't be clearer, and that hasn't changed despite the Democratic nominee switch.
Harris's Failed Record as Border Czar
Vance hammered Harris on her record as the person responsible for border policy in the Biden administration, rejecting any attempt by the media to cover up her role. He detailed her radical positions that make even Bernie Sanders look moderate by comparison.
"She has called for the banning of all fracking. She has sympathized with defunding the police. She raised money for Minneapolis murderers and rioters. She has been in support of giving taxpayer-funded benefits to foreigners who are illegally domiciled into this country," Vance outlined.
He highlighted that 88,000 kids are missing and trafficked into America on her watch, while some young women voters are distracted by how she dances on TikTok. Her record on immigration, according to Vance, includes wanting to make crossing into the country a civil offense and comparing Immigration and Customs Enforcement to the KKK.
"What Kamala Harris is basically saying is we want to allow millions of people in, many of whom are going to bring fentanyl, we want to decriminalize their illegal entry in the first place, and then we want to give them Medicaid and Medicare on top of it. You're going to make the border crisis that has already caused a lot of suffering so much worse," Vance explained.
The Economic Message for Young Voters
As the youngest candidate on either ticket, Vance has a particular appeal to younger voters who are struggling in the current economy. He focused on the practical concerns facing his generation: affording a house, starting a family, and raising children in safe neighborhoods.
"I have people who have worked for me who make good salaries and they can't afford to buy a house in the Kamala Harris economy. If you want to turn the page on that and get back to an economy where you can afford to live a decent life, you've got to vote for President Trump," Vance said.
He connected the border crisis directly to economic struggles, explaining that when you add 20 million illegal aliens, you drive up the cost of housing and food, and increase emergency room wait times. Harris is promising to bring in more illegal aliens and give them more benefits, which will only worsen everything that's been wrong with the Biden economy.
The Path Forward
Vance emphasized that despite the anti-democratic process that led to Harris becoming the nominee, Republicans can't sit around and complain about it. They have to run their race and make their case to the American people.
"We can't sit around and whine about it, we have to go and run our race and that's exactly what President Trump and I are doing," Vance stated. He pointed out that Kamala Harris bears as much responsibility for the Biden administration's failures as Biden himself, since she was the vice president.
The core message remains simple: voters must choose between four more years even worse than the last four under a more liberal Harris administration, or a return to the policies of President Trump's first term from 2016 to 2020. Vance believes that when people learn about the stark contrasts on border security, the economy, and America's future direction, the choice becomes clear.
"The contrast couldn't be clearer and that hasn't changed. The issues couldn't be clearer and that hasn't changed. We have to constantly remind people that she failed as vice president. Her administration led to higher prices on everything from groceries to housing, a wide open southern border, a drug crisis, and we need new leadership," Vance concluded.
