This belief in individual autonomy is why she completely rejects far-left ideologies. According to Dominique, these ideologies are fundamentally about control and ownership—about central bureaucracies dictating how millions of people should live their lives, what they should eat, and what work they should do. She believes human beings were born for more than being told how to live by distant authorities.
Rejecting Group Identity in Favor of Individual Choice
Dominique argues that individuals are not being treated as such by many on the left today. Instead, there is a focus on group identities, with people being encouraged to define themselves by their skin color, gender, or accent. She firmly rejects this framework.
In her view, there is only one thing that truly defines a person in this world: their choices. Group characteristics are accidents of birth, but choices reflect who someone really is. She calls on the audience to recognize their own agency and to resist being pigeonholed into identity categories.
A Call for Courage
Dominique concludes with a call to action. She reminds the audience of everything their ancestors, parents, and previous generations endured to secure the freedoms taken for granted today. The least that can be done in return is to have the courage to stand up and say that these freedoms matter.
This courage means speaking up despite the criticism, despite the hate, and despite everything that will be said about you. Dominique uses herself as an example—she still has the courage to sit on stage and say what she believes, even knowing the backlash she will face. She urges others to do the same: to have courage and to defend freedom of speech.
