Jeff Bates Honors Charlie Kirk With Powerful Tribute Song | Faith, Family & Freedom

[00:00] [Music]

[00:05] He was just a young man.

[00:10] >> All right, welcome back to American

[00:11] Sunrise. I'm Dr. G. Country Music. My

[00:15] favorite, as you know, is paying a

[00:17] tribute to a conservative icon. Singer

[00:20] Jeff Bates has released a brand new song

[00:23] honoring Turning Point USA founder

[00:26] Charlie Kirk. The lyrics celebrate

[00:28] Charlie's voice, his courage, his impact

[00:30] on a new generation of Americans who

[00:33] believe in faith, family, and freedom.

[00:36] And it shows how Charlie Kirk's message

[00:38] has moved beyond the podium into songs

[00:41] striking accord with Americans who

[00:42] believe this country's best days are

[00:45] still ahead. Here's what it sounds like.

[00:48] >> Hallelujah. Amen. Going to be angels

[00:52] singing.

[00:54] Nobody blaming

[00:57] for shaming him. The words he said are

[01:00] all of his bad sins.

[01:03] See him go. But I know you're going to

[01:07] be a good man going home.

[01:15] Beautiful tune, powerful message.

[01:17] Country singer Jeff Bates is here with

[01:19] us today to talk about it. Jeff, first

[01:22] of all, thank you for such a great a

[01:25] beautiful song, a beautiful tribute to

[01:27] one of our heroes. Uh, good morning to

[01:29] you. What inspired you?

[01:31] >> Um, my daughter called me and let me

[01:33] know about Charlie and and and I

[01:36] immediately just knew I had to get this

[01:37] out. I had to write. I've been following

[01:39] him for a while and and and knew what he

[01:41] stood for um and believed in him and

[01:44] obviously just a great guy and one of

[01:47] America's brightest at his age. I never

[01:49] seen anybody like him before and so I we

[01:51] went wrote a song and I just knew I had

[01:53] to get it out and and the song just kind

[01:55] of poured out. It was pretty amazing.

[01:59] >> Yeah, that'll happen sometimes, won't

[02:01] it? When uh when the big guy in the sky

[02:05] uh takes note. Yeah. Yeah. So, so, so

[02:07] tell us what you plan to do with the

[02:09] song. What have you heard from the song?

[02:10] What's the reaction been?

[02:12] >> Well, first thing, the the the reaction

[02:15] has been through the roof. It's been

[02:16] crazy. It's amazing to find out that a

[02:19] lot of America, a large portion of

[02:20] America feels the same way I do about

[02:22] it. You know, it's this shouldn't happen

[02:24] in our country. It is it's sad. It's

[02:26] going to be missed. At the same time, we

[02:28] obviously know where Charlie is today.

[02:31] If you're a believer, and I am, uh, we

[02:34] want to get it to as many people as

[02:35] possible. post going on my new album um

[02:38] which will be coming out about the end

[02:39] of October 1st of November and carry it

[02:43] as far as it'll go and hope every that

[02:44] we can get everybody to hear it.

[02:48] >> What's the overriding message of the

[02:50] song if you had to give us a synopsis?

[02:53] If I had to give you a synopsis, the

[02:54] overriding message of the song is when

[02:57] you're doing the things you should you

[02:58] should be doing that God put you here to

[03:00] do, even if a bullet takes you out, uh,

[03:03] no matter how you go, we all wind up at

[03:06] the same place in the end. And there's

[03:07] something bigger there, someone bigger

[03:10] there waiting for us to embrace us with

[03:12] open arms, which I which is what I

[03:13] believe to Charlie happened to Charlie.

[03:17] >> I got to ask you, Jeeoff, did your

[03:18] daughter approve of the song?

[03:21] My daughter loved the song. She She

[03:23] approved the song and she's 15, by the

[03:25] way. And may I say one thing? She's 15

[03:28] years old. And one of the biggest

[03:30] reasons that I believed in what Charlie

[03:32] was doing with with Turning Point and

[03:33] all that and going around speaking to

[03:35] young people around the country. Uh he

[03:37] never had a message that I would not

[03:39] want my daughter to hear.

[03:43] >> That's right. I think it really changed

[03:44] that generation. Uh, Jeff Bates, I think

[03:46] your song will help sink Charlie's

[03:48] message and I thank you so much for

[03:50] writing it. God bless you and your

[03:52] daughter and thanks for joining us this

[03:54] morning. Best of luck with the song. Oh,

[03:55] wait, wait, wait, wait. Tell people

[03:56] where they can find it.

[03:58] >> No, you can find it on iTunes, Amazon.

[04:01] Um, you can find it on jeffb.net.

[04:04] You can f anywhere where there's digital

[04:06] downloads, you can find this song right

[04:07] now.

[04:08] >> All right.

[04:09] >> Spotify.

[04:09] >> All right, my friend. Thanks again. God

[04:11] bless. All right.

[04:12] >> God bless you.

[04:13] >> More American Sunrise coming up. Final

[04:14] thoughts on the AAC boot camp after this

[04:17] break. Stay with us.

[04:21] >> He was just a young man talking about

[04:25] Jesus at a college, but the devil was

[04:29] hiding in the light.

[04:33] We never saw the bullet coming. They're

[04:36] screaming and they're running and

[04:39] everybody praying for his
