Kash Patel Reveals DNA Evidence Links Tyler Robinson to Charlie Kirk Assassination Scene Through Discord Confession

FBI Director Kash Patel confirms DNA evidence from a screwdriver and towel-wrapped firearm positively matches the suspect in custody for Charlie Kirk's assassination. Tyler Robinson allegedly confessed to approximately 30 people in a Discord group chat hours before surrendering, stating "It was me at UVU yesterday. I'm sorry for all this." The Washington Post obtained screenshots showing Robinson's messages, including jokes about his "doppelganger" and references to getting rid of his manifesto. Despite Discord's claims they found no evidence of planning on their platform, the messages reveal conversations about avoiding McDonald's, destroying evidence, and potential FBI rewards. Meanwhile, Turning Point USA reports over 37,000 new chapter inquiries following the tragedy, as President Trump confirms multiple left-wing organizations are already under investigation.

Discord Group Chat Reveals Alleged Confession

The Washington Post published exclusive details about Tyler Robinson's alleged confession in a Discord group chat approximately two hours before his arrest. According to two people familiar with the messages and screenshots obtained by the outlet, Robinson wrote to roughly 30 people in a private Discord server: "Hey guys, I have bad news for you all. It was me at UVU yesterday. Period. I'm sorry for all this."

The 22-year-old suspect's message was sent Thursday night before officials took him into custody. A member of the group chat shared an image of the conversation with the Post, speaking on condition of anonymity to protect their privacy. Discord provided a copy of the message with the confession to authorities, according to a person familiar with the company's interaction with law enforcement.

The Doppelganger Messages and Conspiracy

Before the confession, Robinson engaged in what appeared to be jokey exchanges about resembling the FBI's person of interest photo. When one of Robinson's acquaintances pointed out his resemblance to the man in the photos released by authorities, tagging his username with "Wa" (meaning where you at) and a skull emoji, Robinson replied within a minute: "My doppelganger is trying to get me in trouble."

The messages grew increasingly disturbing. According to the New York Times, another member of the Discord group chat wrote "Tyler killed Charlie," while a different user suggested the group could turn Robinson in for the FBI reward. Robinson allegedly responded: "Only if I get a cut."

One user made reference to Luigi Mangione, the man who shot a healthcare executive, issuing Robinson a warning: "Whatever you do, don't go to a McDonald's anytime soon." Robinson reportedly responded by writing that he better also get rid of the manifesto, stating: "I better get rid of my manifesto and the exact copy of a rifle I have lying around."

In other messages, Robinson reportedly discussed the ammunition used in the fatal shooting, implying he was closely following news coverage. He even joked: "Actually, I'm actually Charlie Kirk, and I wanted to get out of politics, so I faked my death, and now I can live out my dream in Kansas."

Discord's Response and Denial

Discord initially denied that Robinson planned any aspect of the killing on their platform. A spokesperson stated: "We are deeply saddened by this tragedy and we extend our condolences to the Kirk family and everyone affected. In the course of our investigation, we identified a Discord account associated with the suspect, but have found no evidence that the suspect planned this incident or promoted violence on Discord."

The company claimed the messages referencing planning details appeared to be communications between the suspect's roommate and a friend after the shooting, where the roommate was recounting contents of a note Robinson had left elsewhere. Discord removed Robinson's account for violating their off-platform behavior policy and stated they are coordinating closely with law enforcement.

However, the messages reveal conversations that appear to show furtherance of concealing the crime, including warnings about avoiding detection and destroying evidence. The group included approximately 30 people, raising questions about whether any FBI agents or foreign intelligence operatives were monitoring the chat.

Kash Patel Confirms DNA Evidence

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed significant forensic evidence linking Robinson to the crime scene. Speaking on Fox News, Patel explained the extensive FBI response: "All resources the FBI had in search multiple air assets as soon as this shooting occurred. We were cycling in agents, evidence response technicians, hostage rescue technicians, and special operators in and out of Utah, cycling evidence back and forth on these FBI planes as soon as we could so that there was no delay."

Patel walked the entire crime scene, including the path the suspect took. He revealed: "What we learned was there was evidence, DNA evidence that could be collected and had been collected, including a screwdriver that was found on the rooftop. Also, we went over to the scene in the wooded area where the firearm was discarded and the firearm had a towel wrapped around it."

The DNA results were conclusive. Patel reported: "I can report today that the DNA hits from the towel that was wrapped around the firearm and the DNA on the screwdriver are positively processed for the suspect in custody."

The Destroyed Manifesto

Patel also addressed evidence of a written note or manifesto. When asked about whether Robinson wrote a note before the assassination attempt, Patel explained: "The written note we believe did exist and we have evidence to show what was in that note which is and I'm going to summarize the suspect wrote a note saying I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I'm going to take it."

The note was written before the shooting and existed in the location of the suspect and partner's home. Though the note has been destroyed, Patel stated: "We have found forensic evidence of the note and we have confirmed what that note says because of our aggressive interview posture at the FBI."

The Final Surrender Message

Robinson's final message to the Discord group came at 7:57 p.m. local time on the day of his arrest: "Bad news. Period. I'm surrendering through a sheriff friend in a few moments. Thanks for all the good times and laughs. You've all been so amazing. Thank you all for everything."

No one responded to Robinson that night. The next day, one friend wrote: "Oh my gosh." That friend asked group members: "Pray for Tyler and his repentance," before turning attention to Kirk: "While Charlie Kirk's politics were not acceptable to some, I ask that we all say a prayer for him and his family during these confusing times."

CNN Confrontation With Tim Burchett

Representative Tim Burchett engaged in a heated exchange with a CNN anchor when questioned about political rhetoric and temperature. When the anchor suggested it should start from leaders including the President to bring the temperature down, Burchett fired back: "Well, what do you all do with it? You keep putting it out. If you all truly wanted this to change in the media at CNN and other places, your editorial board would say, 'We're not going to put this stuff out.' But yet, you continue to put it out and that continues to serve the base."

The anchor pushed back, claiming she was trying to create conversation and bring the temperature down. Burchett responded: "No, that's you trying to make Trump the problem. You're trying to blame him for not toning the temperature down in America."

He continued: "I'm just letting you know that you all need to look within at CNN if you want to continue this down this path because clearly your ratings show that and the conservative movement is showing that they're not watching you because of that. If you all truly had some objective reporting instead of constantly attacking conservatives and Republicans, then there would be a change, I think."

The anchor responded defensively: "But making broad brush statements about any group of people or vast generalizations when you are not involved in any internal discussions with in this network or any other network is also not moving the ball forward in a positive way."

Trump Announces Investigations Already Underway

President Trump addressed the Charlie Kirk investigation during a press gaggle, confirming action against left-wing organizations. When asked about investigating organizations on the left, Trump stated: "Well, the problem is on the left. You look at the problem. The problem is on the left. It's not on the right like some people like to say on the right. And when you look at the agitators, you look at the scum that speaks so badly of our country, the American flag burnings all over the place, that's the left. That's not the right."

When pressed about plans to investigate, Trump revealed: "We'll see. We'll be announcing. They're already under investigation. A lot of the people that you would traditionally say are on the left. Already under investigation."

Trump also confirmed the administration is revoking visas of foreigners who celebrated Charlie's death: "No, we are looking at names. We don't like that. That's not right. We wouldn't celebrate if something happened on their side and we don't. These are sick people. These are really deranged people."

Massive Response From Americans Wanting to Get Involved

Turning Point USA reported an overwhelming response from Americans wanting to honor Charlie Kirk's legacy. A TPUSA spokesman revealed: "At this point, we're over 37,000 inquiries just through our website tpusa.com saying, 'I want to get involved and start a chapter.'"

To put that number in perspective, TPUSA currently has 900 college chapters, 1,200 high school chapters, and about 3,500 total chapters. The 37,000 inquiries represent an enormous surge of interest.

The spokesman explained what made Charlie's voice so powerful: "Two people could say the same thing, and for some reason, Charlie's would go further. And it's because there was there's something in it, the integrity of who he was and what he believed and what he stood for and his faith in Jesus was so powerful that it would just echo and spread. And that's what made his voice so powerful."

TPUSA has been inundated with offers of help from people across the country: "We've been just inundated with people saying, 'Hey, I run this kind of company. Can I help? It's totally free. Hey, I do this. Can this be helpful to you?' And then the students, the students are devastated. We're getting so many of those testimonials and they want to see Charlie's legacy live on through Turning Point USA."

The response suggests a spiritual awakening among Americans who are reacting to the evil of celebrating murder by seeking out goodness. Many report attending church for the first time in years, moved by the tragedy to reconnect with faith and community.
