Pastor Rob McCoy Honors Charlie Kirk's Legacy and Shares the Gospel at Memorial Service

[00:02] Good morning everybody.

[00:04] Thank you for coming out to honor

[00:06] Charlie Kirk. God bless all of you and

[00:08] all of you tuning in online around the

[00:10] world.

[00:12] I uh I know you're all wondering who is

[00:14] he and why is he here? And I'm asking

[00:16] myself the same question.

[00:19] Charlie Kirk called me his pastor.

[00:22] I called him my friend.

[00:25] I was with Charlie about um a little

[00:28] over two weeks ago in Korea

[00:31] as he was supporting the persecuted

[00:33] Christians over there as they're raiding

[00:36] churches and imprisoning pastors. And he

[00:39] spoke to the youth there that now are

[00:41] chanting on the streets, I am Charlie

[00:44] Kirk, standing for freedom across that

[00:46] country.

[00:56] In a conversation with Charlie in the

[00:58] green room in Korea, he said something

[01:00] to me that he'd said a number of times.

[01:02] He said

[01:04] he he kept calling me as pastor. And I I

[01:06] stopped him. I said, "Charlie, since the

[01:08] president's gotten elected, your your

[01:10] stock has risen through the

[01:11] stratosphere,

[01:13] and I don't see much of you." I mean, he

[01:15] wasn't a very good congregant. He was on

[01:18] the road 320 days a year.

[01:22] But he said, "Rob, my pastor,

[01:26] but you're America's pastor." And I

[01:29] said, "Charlie, if if we were at a

[01:30] tableabling

[01:32] campus where you had the table said,

[01:34] prove me wrong, I win."

[01:37] And he looked at me with that sheepish

[01:39] grin that he

[01:44] dog gone. if he wasn't right. I mean, I

[01:46] I wasn't America's pastor two minutes

[01:48] ago, and I won't be after this. No, he

[01:51] proved me wrong.

[02:04] >> In a moment, you're going to hear

[02:07] from the most powerful political

[02:10] people in the free world.

[02:14] You're going to hear from the who's who

[02:17] and they're going to assemble in this

[02:19] place to talk about what Charlie Kirk

[02:22] did in 31 years on this earth.

[02:26] He had more lifetimes in 31 years than

[02:28] all of us have in the entirety of our

[02:31] own.

[02:34] And as I was thinking about that,

[02:37] to recount all that he's accomplished in

[02:38] 31 years is quite a feat.

[02:42] I mean, I I was just telling the Turning

[02:45] Point staff as I walked in here,

[02:47] everyone is is worried that that Turning

[02:50] Point is isn't going to be successful.

[02:54] And I I looked at each and every one of

[02:55] them. And for those of you who are

[02:58] negative,

[03:02] without Charlie Kirk's presence, they

[03:03] pulled off the largest event in Turning

[03:05] Point history.

[03:07] Let's thank them.

[03:14] Turning Point is alive and well.

[03:42] want to do what I've been called to do.

[03:44] First of all, I was thinking of Abraham

[03:48] Lincoln when I was reflecting on Erica

[03:52] and their two children and for Charlie's

[03:55] parents and his sister.

[03:58] Abraham Lincoln said to Mrs. Vixby when

[04:00] she had lost sons in the civil war. He

[04:03] wrote these words.

[04:06] I feel how

[04:08] weak and fruitless must be any word of

[04:10] mine

[04:11] to beguile you

[04:14] from the grief of a loss so

[04:16] overwhelming.

[04:18] We can't bring him back. But we thank

[04:20] you for raising him.

[04:23] We thank you for loving him. Erica for

[04:25] being the strength in his life.

[04:29] and and we we pray for this family and

[04:31] we ask God's comfort and peace upon you

[04:33] in Jesus name. Amen.

[04:49] You're going to hear of what Charlie

[04:50] did, but I'm here today to tell you the

[04:53] why in what he did.

[04:56] The why brought him the courage. The why

[05:00] brought him the wisdom and the strength.

[05:02] The why

[05:05] is the one that Charlie wanted to

[05:08] welcome as the guest of honor.

[05:12] The guest of honor is resume is long.

[05:17] He's the king of glory.

[05:19] He's the prince of peace.

[05:22] He's the savior of the world. He's the

[05:25] living God. He's the God of all mercy

[05:28] and grace,

[05:30] the total embodiment of love, the total

[05:34] embodiment of truth. And he's here today

[05:37] to call his children back to him.

[05:46] From the thin veil of heaven, Charlie

[05:49] declares to all earthly powers and

[05:51] principalities who will gather here.

[05:55] They have come into the presence of the

[05:57] God of all creation.

[06:01] Charlie wanted his savior to be the

[06:03] guest of honor. He wanted all of you to

[06:06] receive this gift from him. The why and

[06:08] what he did.

[06:10] Charlie was never afraid

[06:13] because he knew his life was secure in

[06:15] the hand of God.

[06:19] Jesus left the glory of heaven's throne

[06:23] for the humiliation of an earthly cross.

[06:26] He was fully tempted yet was without

[06:28] sin. For those of you who struggle with

[06:33] the word sin, it's real simple. It's an

[06:35] archer's term. Where the bullseye is and

[06:38] where the arrow lands, that's called the

[06:40] sin distance. How far you've fallen from

[06:42] perfection. And there are none

[06:44] righteous. No, not one. We've all missed

[06:45] the mark, the bullseye,

[06:49] and we try to get to God by our efforts,

[06:51] but there is no effort that will bring

[06:53] us back into the presence of a of a

[06:55] righteous God.

[06:57] You see, the wages of sin is death.

[07:00] Charlie knew this, and at an early age,

[07:02] he entrusted his life to the savior of

[07:04] the world.

[07:07] Jesus came to this earth, was tempted in

[07:10] all ways, yet was without sin, was

[07:11] crucified upon a cross. His blood was

[07:14] poured out because blood must be shed

[07:16] for the remission of sins. And his death

[07:18] upon that cross was sufficient for all

[07:21] the world's sins, but only efficient for

[07:23] those who, like Charlie, would receive

[07:25] him as their savior.

[07:30] Jesus has come to seek and save that

[07:32] which is lost.

[07:35] And I would say this to all of you.

[07:39] The Lord loves you.

[07:43] He wants to save you.

[07:46] He wants to give you a new life. He

[07:50] wants to cover the multitude of your

[07:52] sins by the blood he shed upon the

[07:54] cross.

[07:56] The Bible says if you believe in your

[07:57] heart and you confess with your tongue

[07:59] Jesus is Lord, you will be saved to the

[08:00] glory of the father.

[08:03] You see, Charlie looked at politics as

[08:05] an on-ramp to Jesus. He knew if he could

[08:08] get all of you rowing in the streams of

[08:09] liberty, you'd come to its source, and

[08:11] that's the Lord.

[08:14] [Applause]

[08:23] In the time I have remaining,

[08:25] I'm going to ask all who profess Christ

[08:28] as their savior

[08:29] to remain seated.

[08:33] The Bible says, "If you profess me

[08:34] before man, I'll profess you before my

[08:36] father in heaven." It requires an act of

[08:37] faith.

[08:39] You stand. That's what Charlie did every

[08:42] day on campus with death threats. He

[08:43] stood because he knew and whom he had

[08:45] trusted.

[08:48] And he wants to give you the gift of the

[08:50] why and what he did. and that is his

[08:51] savior Jesus. While believers are

[08:54] seated, if there's any in this room and

[08:57] across the globe

[08:59] that would desire to receive Jesus as

[09:01] their savior, as Charlie did as a young

[09:03] man and now is in the presence of his

[09:06] savior,

[09:08] I'm going to ask you to put action to

[09:10] your faith.

[09:12] And I'd ask you to stand right now to

[09:13] receive the Lord. Don't be ashamed.

[09:16] Stand. Amen. Amen.

[09:27] The Bible says,

[09:37] The Bible says that when one sinner

[09:39] gives their heart to the Lord, the

[09:40] angels in heaven rejoice. And I got to

[09:42] tell you, there's one up there right

[09:43] now, Charlie Kirk. He's stoked and he's

[09:45] excited about your commitment to his

[09:47] savior.

[09:55] for this remaining moment. If you've

[09:58] given your heart to the Lord and someone

[10:00] is seated next to you, I want that

[10:02] person who's a believer to stand and

[10:04] pray with you and and please up on the

[10:06] screen, I want you to take a picture of

[10:08] this QR code. We are going to give you

[10:10] everything you need to walk this walk

[10:12] with Christ.

[10:14] Faith comes from hearing and hearing

[10:16] from the word of God. And it's time to

[10:18] get into a bibleelving church. And

[10:20] pastors, if you didn't want to give

[10:22] Charlie Kirk the time a day, these folks

[10:23] are going to be showing up at your

[10:24] church. And they're there because of his

[10:26] life. God bless you and may the Lord
