TPUSA Responds to Conspiracy Theories and Erika Promoting Charlie’s New Book

[00:00] the amount of conspiracies that I was

[00:01] seeing about Erica to the point where

[00:03] she'd be wearing an earring and people

[00:05] would try to tie some narrative to that

[00:08] like it's a level of delusion and

[00:11] insanity that I just did not expect to

[00:13] happen especially within the right wing

[00:15] for that to be happening.

[00:16] >> We we didn't either. I mean I

[00:20] in real time as this tragedy was

[00:22] unfolding of you know an assassination

[00:25] of not just I mean I don't think we

[00:28] really understood how impactful Charlie

[00:31] was on so many people's lives across the

[00:32] world which was truly humbling to watch

[00:36] um that unfold but I mean this is the

[00:38] assassination of our close friend um one

[00:41] of my closest confidants I mean I talked

[00:42] to the man once an hour every hour for

[00:45] the last 11 plus years and So, um, I

[00:48] just was completely

[00:51] shocked by I never would have

[00:53] anticipated the the way that people

[00:55] would so negatively react.

[00:57] >> Mhm.

[00:58] >> Um, feeling a vacuum of, you know,

[01:02] confusion, I think, and dismay with just

[01:06] completely manufactured stuff. Mhm.

[01:08] >> And

[01:10] you know, I just recently watched

[01:13] um the whole, you know, kind of autopsy

[01:17] of the, you know, John Ben Ramsay family

[01:20] and kind of what was what was done to

[01:22] that family.

[01:24] >> And I was I was pretty horrified to be

[01:26] honest like watching that. And this was

[01:27] many months ago whenever I watched that.

[01:30] >> I never would have expected people to do

[01:33] this to Erica.

[01:34] >> [clears throat]

[01:35] >> um to many of the people who have been

[01:36] closest to Charlie.

[01:38] >> Yeah.

[01:38] >> Uh it's really unfair, but I think it's

[01:41] a unfortunately a piece of of society.

[01:44] >> Mhm.

[01:45] >> That there's always people there's

[01:46] always um people trying to sell you

[01:48] something, try to take advantage of

[01:51] people.

[01:53] >> One thing I will say is this is I've

[01:54] noticed there's a certain type of

[01:56] there's an archetype of people or kind

[01:58] of falling into that trap.

[01:59] >> Mh. Uh the only thing I could say is

[02:01] like you know seek truth you know try

[02:04] not to uh be distracted by the

[02:07] negativity that exists out there. Uh

[02:10] there's a lot of people selling you

[02:11] something.

[02:12] >> Yeah.

[02:12] >> Yeah.

[02:13] >> When you say archetype, can you

[02:14] elaborate on that a little bit?

[02:15] >> I mean there's a lot of there's a lot of

[02:17] people I think what I've noticed people

[02:20] that have been really nasty and

[02:21] responsive and saying really negative

[02:23] things. Um a lot of lonely people.

[02:27] >> Yeah. I mean that's been I think the

[02:29] most tying thing is a lot of lonely

[02:32] people a lot of people who

[02:34] >> look like they they live on the internet

[02:36] >> spend their days on the internet and uh

[02:40] >> you got to be careful of that stuff

[02:41] right a lot of people say go out and

[02:43] touch grass you know the thing that

[02:46] gives me a lot of a lot of happiness

[02:48] every single day is that you know we do

[02:49] what we do here at Turning Point

[02:52] >> uh to to support you know the

[02:54] development of our families to to

[02:57] provide for our family to create a a

[03:00] society, a country that's worth living

[03:02] in.

[03:03] >> Mhm.

[03:04] >> And if you're so cynical where your life

[03:07] is so easily

[03:10] brought to the level of distraught that

[03:13] I've seen with people where they just

[03:15] will immediately believe anything

[03:18] >> um from one podcast or one voice that

[03:23] they listen to without really

[03:25] considering anything else. Mhm.

[03:27] >> Like that's that's a really that that's

[03:29] a really sad um commentary on society

[03:34] and where some of these people are at.

[03:36] >> Yeah.

[03:37] >> And for me it's like I I don't blame

[03:39] some of these people. I mean, I I think

[03:41] a lot of people came out of CO with a

[03:44] massive distrust for government, a

[03:46] massive distrust

[03:48] um for how things operate maybe in this

[03:52] country. That you could say there's a a

[03:56] level where people were more apt to

[03:59] believe conspiracy theories than

[04:01] anything else.

[04:03] >> But it didn't change their behavior

[04:06] on like sometimes people refer to as

[04:08] sheeple.

[04:08] >> Mhm. You can't just be a person that

[04:10] just will believe anything that the

[04:11] media, the MSM will tell you. You can't

[04:14] believe just what anything anything that

[04:15] just one person will tell you on the

[04:16] internet.

[04:17] >> Yeah.

[04:17] >> You have to go out and seek truth on

[04:19] your own. You have to have a good

[04:20] relationship, I think, with God. Um, be

[04:23] well grounded. Um, do productive things

[04:26] that are going to actually help society.

[04:29] >> Those are the ways that, you know, I

[04:31] think that's what God wants us to do is

[04:32] to go out and do those things. So I have

[04:35] a lot of faith that we'll overcome a lot

[04:37] of these these little things and uh

[04:40] >> you know people figure out the truth and

[04:43] >> you know they'll move on and and uh

[04:46] hopefully become more productive out of

[04:48] it. So

[04:49] >> yeah I've realized recently that the

[04:52] truth is just more boring than what

[04:53] people actually want to hear. So they

[04:55] look forward to hearing any kind of

[04:56] conspiracy because it's these lonely

[04:59] people as you say. I think that's a nice

[05:01] way to say basement dwelling in cells. I

[05:03] think these people are just looking for

[05:06] entertainment and not realizing that

[05:08] there's real lives attached to

[05:09] everything that's going on. Um, another

[05:12] question I had for you is as all these

[05:14] conspiracies were being thrown out there

[05:16] against you, against Erica, against the

[05:18] McCoys, what were the conversations like

[05:21] within the headquarters of Turning

[05:22] Point?

[05:23] >> Yeah, I mean, look, I think again, I

[05:25] think most people have been caught off

[05:26] guard by those types of those types of

[05:29] accusations. I mean, people, you know, I

[05:33] I'm not new to people saying

[05:36] awful things. Like, we've been doing

[05:38] this like the left hates us, right? So,

[05:40] like like so we we get attacked a lot at

[05:43] Turning Point. Um I mean there's so many

[05:46] radical groups that are out there, uh

[05:49] Antifa, everything else. Once you've

[05:52] dealt with those guys, like dealing

[05:55] with, you know,

[05:57] low-level,

[05:58] you know, halfbrain, you know,

[06:00] half-witted, you know, things that have

[06:03] been lobbed at you, it's really not that

[06:05] big of a deal. But, you know, for a lot

[06:07] of other people, this is kind of their

[06:09] first time dealing with that. They've

[06:11] never been under the spotlight. They've

[06:12] never seen any of that, you know,

[06:14] because they haven't been in the middle

[06:15] of political fights. And so I felt

[06:18] really bad for some people because this

[06:19] is their first time, you know, having to

[06:21] deal with that. And and again, everybody

[06:23] here is kind of reeling from, you know,

[06:26] the loss of one of our closest friends.

[06:28] Uh one of the people that we depend on.

[06:31] Um you know, it changes everything when

[06:33] somebody leaves, you know, this earth

[06:36] and at in such a awful and unexpected

[06:40] way. And so I've been more concerned

[06:43] about, you know, kind of where their

[06:46] headspace is. Every single person that

[06:48] we have here on staff at Turning Point,

[06:50] I mean, we have to be here for those

[06:52] people.

[06:52] >> Mhm.

[06:53] >> We have to be leaders uh to support

[06:56] those individuals. And so around here at

[07:00] Turning Point Headquarters, not really

[07:02] concerned about ourselves. We're more

[07:04] concerned about the people that that we

[07:06] serve.

[07:06] >> Mhm. [clears throat]

[07:07] >> Which are our staff that we have to look

[07:09] out for, you know, making sure that they

[07:11] can put food on the table for their

[07:12] families, their young families, uh that

[07:15] they feel, you know, um still committed

[07:19] and married to what our mission is,

[07:21] which is

[07:22] >> here at Turning Point Action is we're

[07:25] here to chase ballots. We're here to

[07:26] make sure we win elections.

[07:27] >> Yeah. And so, uh, one of those things

[07:30] kind of occurred actually is here in

[07:32] Arizona, we immediately hit the ground,

[07:36] hit the pavement to win an election here

[07:39] in Arizona and we were successful

[07:41] >> and that brings camaraderie, that brings

[07:44] focus. Um, you know, a lot of people

[07:46] felt a lot of solace. You know, we miss

[07:49] Charlie be able to celebrate with us

[07:51] that win.

[07:51] >> Mhm.

[07:52] >> But that's that's the exciting stuff

[07:54] that Charlie would want us to do,

[07:56] >> right? for Erica to go on Fox today. Did

[07:58] that take a lot of encouragement or was

[08:00] it just at the point where enough was

[08:01] enough?

[08:01] >> Well, look, I mean, again, Erica got

[08:03] thrown in the middle of all this, right?

[08:05] Erica is I've known Erica for a long

[08:07] time. She is one of the best people that

[08:11] you'll ever meet. You spend any time

[08:13] with her, she's she is

[08:17] the most authentic person, you know, a

[08:20] great mom. She's been a great wife to

[08:22] her husband, a great friend. Um, you

[08:26] know, she really views Turning Point as

[08:27] her family. She got thrown in the middle

[08:29] of all of this unexpected. So, I mean,

[08:32] she right now is is out promoting

[08:34] Charlie's book.

[08:35] >> Mhm.

[08:36] >> Right. That this is the this is the this

[08:39] is the stuff that Charlie was supposed

[08:40] to do.

[08:40] >> Yeah.

[08:41] >> You know, her it wasn't like she got

[08:43] booked on Fox because, you know, it's

[08:46] Erica Kirk. No, this was Charlie's book

[08:49] was supposed to launch.

[08:50] >> Yeah.

[08:50] >> It was We had no choice. She had no

[08:52] choice. Mhm.

[08:53] >> Charlie Charlie got murdered and he had

[08:56] a book coming out and so now that has to

[08:58] be, you know, promoted and she's going

[09:01] out representing taking the place of her

[09:04] husband who's not here on Fox to go

[09:07] speak about these things and um so yeah,

[09:10] so that that was that was pre-planned

[09:12] for Charlie and she's, you know, filling

[09:14] filling uh his spot, you know, stepping

[09:17] up for what he was intended to do. Um,

[09:20] which you know obviously she feels so

[09:22] passionately about the book which is

[09:24] like I mean it's one of those another

[09:26] one of those things which just like a

[09:28] memory of Charlie that you want to

[09:29] continue because this is Charlie's

[09:31] thoughts. This is passion and obviously

[09:33] this book about the Sabbath is um so

[09:36] important for everyone to read. And so,

[09:39] you know, she's kind of put in this

[09:40] position where it's like, hey, do you

[09:41] want to go do what Charlie was intended

[09:44] intended to do? And and of course, her

[09:47] answer is yes, you know, out of respect

[09:48] and honoring her husband. Um, but, you

[09:51] know, some of these questions that have

[09:53] come up along the way, which is like,

[09:55] you know, her, you know, addressing some

[09:58] of the the bigger, more complex problems

[10:00] that are out there, attacks from the

[10:02] left. I mean, she's been attacked by the

[10:03] left. She's been attacked by, you know,

[10:07] you know, plagued by conspiracy theories

[10:09] and things like that. And, you know, all

[10:11] of that is part and parcel,

[10:12] unfortunately, that goes into an

[10:14] investigation and trial. And we, I mean,

[10:16] we see this a lot, right? Like anytime

[10:18] [clears throat] that

[10:19] >> something of this magnitude happens, you

[10:21] see some of those things. And I think

[10:22] she's handling it with so much grace.

[10:24] >> U be able to quickly dismiss and say,

[10:26] you know, this is ridiculous. You know,

[10:29] here's the focus. We're putting our head

[10:30] down and working and doing the job. And

[10:33] she's the best primest example of that

[10:35] because she's going out and doing the

[10:36] doing the job. She's stepping up and

[10:38] filling in for Charlie who's can't be

[10:42] here, you know, in his mortal body.

[10:45] He's, you know, following along right

[10:47] alongside in heaven, but doing that for

[10:50] him here.
