happened since

kind of full investigation early morning
and now
you get it to me.

>> and take off and uh um and go there. My
is there any indication as to how long
and exactly what is going to happen uh
with the um
with the uh Air Force 2 and how long it
will be on the ground here in Salt Lake.
>> Bob, honestly, we have no idea. Uh we're
trying to kind of get that same
information as well. From what we've
seen here, there have been different law
enforcement vehicles kind of propped up
at different locations across 2200 West,
which is where we are right now. But we
don't know how long the vice president
will be here with Charlie Kirk's family
and then when they do head back to
Arizona. We don't know exactly how long
that time is going to be. Um, but right
now, we're awaiting to see, you know,
where they go next and uh where um where
they meet the family or kind of where
those next steps happen. Now, we know,
and we have to apologize for the shaky
video. Our camera operator is operating
without a tripod today for some reason,
but he he had zoomed in on what appeared
to be some kind of a security trailer
with some kind of uniform personnel in
there. They they look like they very
well could be uh National Guard or uh
police in tactical gear. uh to provide
security. Uh Melia, I would imagine the
security there at the airport is very
heavy right now.
Bob, I don't know if you can still hear
it, but there have been helicopters that
have been circling for quite some time
now. Uh we've seen a lot of police
officers coming looking around different
parts of the airport. So, yeah, security
of course has been high. um and just
trying to make sure that everyone kind
of stays safe here if people are out
here and um going out and about.
Charlie Kirk's assassination in uh Utah
here has brought a Paul not only to the
state of Utah, but over the entire
nation. uh people on both sides of the
political aisle have been condemning the
political violence that led to his death
and uh have just been in mourning and
and a lot of folks in shock. I mean,
Charlie, a 31 almost 32 year old man,
uh, a god-fearing man, a husband, a
father, uh, one who loved to engage in
debate with people in regard to what he
felt was right. And he, in fact, the,
uh, name of his tour was the Prove Me
Wrong Tour. and he encouraged people to
come to the microphone and ask him
questions and try to prove him wrong in
his positions. He was a conservative
activist that became very active. In
fact, just moments ago, I was watching
his very first appearance on Fox and
Friends back when he had graduated from
high school uh several years ago. as you
might guess, him being 31 now or was 31
and uh he became very very active as a
conservative force uh and gathered a lot
of the younger generation around him,
young Republicans in particular. He
gathered around him and created a a safe
place for them and and in fact uh uh
created quite an operation with Turning
Point USA and Turning Point Action uh
wherein those young people could uh
express themselves and their politics. I
understand we do have video of the
landing of Air Force 2. Here it is there
as it came in for a landing at uh
at the Salt Lake International Airport.
Air Force 2, a 757,
unlike the 747 that uh acts as Air Force
One when President Trump flies into town
or when he travels. JD Vance and whoever
serves as vice president whenever they
are aboard that 757, it becomes Air
Force 2. uh the designation uh used by
the military
back live now as we are watching. We
don't know whether from this vantage
point we're going to be able to see Air
Force 2 and uh the transfer of uh
Charlie Kirk's casket to that aircraft.
But uh we are we do we're confident that
that's exactly what's happening out
there. Security is tight as uh you might
guess. You can see Salt Lake Police
vehicles there and air operations
vehicles from the airport and numerous
other uh unmarked vehicles there uh
providing the kind of support that uh
that would be needed in this particular
case.
My uh were you out there when uh
Charlie's uh body arrived? I mean there
was a motorcade. There was not
Uh we haven't seen that uh over here Bob
where we have been uh we don't we didn't
see when um Charlie Kirk's casket came
into the airport. We don't know when
exactly that transport happened here but
there has been a pretty heavy law
enforcement presence here since we since
we got here a couple hours ago. Um Salt
Lake City police has been set up. UHP
was also on motorcycles. So a very heavy
law enforcement presence all around the
airport for the past couple hours now
just keeping an eye on people keeping an
eye on safety and of course preparing
for security for when Vice President JD
Vance is here as well.
>> All right my gooey thank you for being
out there on uh scene for us and of
course we will let you continue to
observe. As we are wrapping up here I
just want to update you briefly on where
the investigation is into the murder of
Charlie Kirk. The FBI has released
photographs now and has video of a
person of interest that they are looking
for. They have found the weapon that
they believe was used in his murder. And
they uh have watched him on video all
over the campus. Here is the uh picture
that the FBI has released of the person
they want to talk to about the shooting
death of Charlie Kirk. They're careful
not to call him a suspect at this point,
but they are very anxious. The manhunt
continues as I I wish you could be here
in the newsroom with us as we
continue to monitor the police channels
and there has been heavy police activity
all over the Salt Lake Valley and and
virtually along the Wasad front today as
law enforcement officers are looking for
that person that you saw in that
picture. Of course, if you have seen him
or if you know who he is, we encourage
you to call the FBI or call 911.

long Vice President Vance will be on the
ground here as he has come to gather
Charlie Kirk's remains, but uh as soon
as we know what's going on, we will pass
