Alex Stein's 'Charlie Kirt' Parody and Its Real-World Life

Showing 12 Charlie Kirt videos from Charlie Kirk's video collection.

Charlie Kirt became comedian Alex Stein's recurring parody persona, a deliberately garbled version of Charlie Kirk's name he adopted while touring college campuses in a comedic imitation of Kirk's own debate format, staging exaggerated exchanges with students at schools including the University of Texas-San Antonio and the University of West Georgia. Stein leaned into the bit publicly, at one point convincing a student he actually was Charlie Kirk during a filmed encounter, and the character grew prominent enough that Stein and Kirk appeared together at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest, where Kirk treated Stein's antics, including storming a panel discussion, as good-natured rather than adversarial. The parody reached a wider audience when South Park aired an episode featuring a character explicitly modeled on Stein's Charlie Kirt bit, prompting Kirk to respond publicly, acknowledging he was in fact a tough debater while pushing back on the more aggressive personality the show attributed to him, and attempting unsuccessfully to reach Paramount Studios directly to discuss the parody. Stein's team also raised the possibility of pursuing the matter as intellectual property theft, treating the South Park sketch as confirmation that the Charlie Kirt character had become recognizable enough in conservative media circles to draw imitation of its own.
