The Grassroots Philosophy Behind Turning Point USA

Showing 11 Grassroots Activism videos from Charlie Kirk's video collection.

Charlie Kirk built Turning Point USA on a specific bet: that grassroots energy, not institutional money or media access, would eventually outmatch a Democratic establishment with far greater resources, and he traced that conviction back to Andrew Breitbart's early influence on him as a teenage citizen journalist. Kirk described the organization's philosophy less as partisan politics than as a spiritual framing, telling audiences the movement wasn't fundamentally Republican versus Democrat but citizens versus a top-down ruling class, and repeatedly urged supporters to choose the harder, more meaningful path of organizing over the easier path of staying home, a theme he returned to often enough that it became something like the movement's core creed. He pointed to specific, concrete wins as proof the approach worked: reporting that showed Democratic megadonors gathering for what attendees themselves called a funeral after 2024, unable to explain how a bottom-up network of student activists and smartphones had outmaneuvered their door-knocking operations and institutional money. Kirk treated even small local moments, a Philadelphia activist confronting his own city council, a grassroots-driven spending fight in Congress, as evidence of the same underlying pattern: that direct, persistent pressure from ordinary citizens could move institutions that seemed otherwise unaccountable to anyone.
