The IRS Form 990 Filings Fueling TPUSA Financial Scrutiny

IRS Form 990 filings, the public tax documents nonprofits must disclose annually, became the raw material for a cluster of independent financial analysts examining Turning Point USA's spending in the months following Charlie Kirk's death. Zach De Gregorio of WolvesAndFinance traced roughly $4.7 million flowing through a company called 110 LLC, registered to a UPS store mailbox, and connected to Arizona State Senator Jake Hoffman and TPUSA executive Tyler Bowyer, while a separate analysis found Chief Financial Officer Justin Olsen, son of Pastor Rob McCoy, is not a certified CPA despite overseeing an organization with tens of millions in annual revenue. Another creator, using year-by-year 990 filings and archived snapshots of TPUSA's staff page, calculated that fundraiser Stacy Sheridan's privately owned companies collected roughly $4.7 million in commissions on donations she also raised as a salaried employee, an arrangement he said was disclosed inconsistently over time. Several of these creators noted that Kirk himself reportedly requested an independent financial audit roughly a week before his death, one that TPUSA has not conducted since. Turning Point USA has pushed back through legal channels rather than public rebuttal, sending WolvesAndFinance a cease-and-desist letter that one litigation attorney examined for its odds of succeeding as a defamation claim given the actual-malice standard public figures face.
