Debating Who Actually Controls Power in Modern America
Showing 7 Oligarchy videos from Charlie Kirk's video collection.
Charlie Kirk used the word oligarchy in two very different directions: turning it back on critics who called Turning Point USA fascist by pointing out that the wealthiest American counties and most billionaire tech founders, outside Elon Musk, lean Democratic, and separately warning that concentrated corporate power itself, especially in big tech, poses a real threat to free speech regardless of party. He argued Google's roughly 88% share of search traffic combined with its government ties amounted to unchecked power the establishment Republican Party had failed to challenge, a point he credited Tucker Carlson with sharpening. Senator Josh Hawley made a related case at CPAC, calling the alliance between progressive politics and big tech corporations its own oligarchy and pledging to keep pushing to break up tech monopolies despite facing cancellation attempts of his own. Kirk also broke down a Senate Finance Committee clash between Bernie Sanders and Treasury Secretary nominee Scott Bessent over wealth concentration, framing it as a genuine philosophical divide between a fixed-pie view of the economy and Kirk's own belief that markets create wealth rather than merely redistribute it.
