Pastor Summit: Charlie Kirk's Push to Mobilize the Church

Turning Point USA Faith's Pastor Summit began after a formative meeting with Pastor Rob McCoy convinced Charlie Kirk that faith and political liberty were more directly connected than he had previously organized his ministry work around, according to Kirk's own account. The inaugural San Diego summit drew more than 400 pastors representing a combined 215,000 weekly congregants. Kirk built the program around practical tools, including Biblical Citizenship classes and legal guidance on IRS regulations governing churches' political speech, requiring no theological agreement beyond the Nicene Creed and biblical inerrancy.

A later summit drew more than 1,100 pastors, where Kirk and Lance Wallnau argued that biblical illiteracy and captured seminaries had left many clergy unprepared to engage cultural battles directly, addressing how congregants might approach pastors who avoid political topics altogether. In a separate appearance on the Covenant Eyes podcast, recorded after meeting the hosts at one such summit, Kirk discussed his own past struggle with pornography addiction and credited both the accountability software and his Christian faith with his recovery, encouraging young men to discuss the subject more openly.
