Charlie Kirk and Lance Wallnau Confront the Crisis of Silent Pastors at Turning Point USA Faith Summit

Categories: Interviews
September 15, 2023

Charlie Kirk sits down with Lance Wallnau at the Turning Point USA Faith Pastors Summit, where over 1,100 pastors gather to address a pressing question: Why have so many American clergy abandoned cultural engagement? Wallnau, host of The Lance Wallnau Show and author of God's Chaos Code, explains why biblical illiteracy and institutional capture have left churches unprepared for the battles facing families today. From seminaries wrapped in ideology to the charge of "Christian nationalism," Kirk and Wallnau make the case that occupying culture until Christ returns isn't optional, it's commanded. They also tackle how congregants can approach pastors who refuse to speak on cultural issues, the prophetic patterns connecting ancient Israel to modern America, and why Andy Stanley's retreat from politics may have cost Georgia its freedom.

The Turning Point USA Faith Pastors Summit Grows Beyond Expectations

Charlie Kirk opens the program from the Turning Point USA Faith Pastors Summit, where over 1,100 pastors from across the country have gathered. Kirk reflects on the extraordinary growth of the summit, noting that this is the third such event in just 13 months, following gatherings in August of the previous year and a massive event in Nashville. The response has been so overwhelming that the summit now faces a seating problem, with more pastors wanting to attend than space allows. Kirk credits the growth to the work of the Lord and expresses gratitude for how TP USA Faith has resonated with clergy across America.

Joining Kirk for the full hour is Lance Wallnau, host of The Lance Wallnau Show on Real America's Voice and author of God's Chaos Code and God's Chaos Candidate. Wallnau brings years of experience speaking to the intersection of faith, culture, and national destiny, making him an ideal guest for this gathering of pastors seeking to understand their role in the public square.

Wearing "Christian Nationalist" as a Badge of Honor

Kirk immediately addresses the elephant in the room: critics have begun labeling attendees of the summit as "Christian nationalists." He asks Wallnau how Christians and pastors should respond when confronted with this accusation. Wallnau draws on wisdom from Rush Limbaugh, noting that media has the power to stigmatize any label through repetition and sound bites. He suggests that perhaps Christians should constantly rebrand—"Christian populist" might throw critics off for a week—but ultimately concludes that the approach should mirror that of Salvation Army founder William Booth, who told his followers to wear persecution like a badge of honor.

Wallnau explains that "Christian nationalist" simply means someone who is a Christian and loves their nation. If that's considered evil, he argues, then critics need to examine what they themselves represent: people who aren't Christian and don't love their nation. Kirk agrees, emphasizing that the movement isn't about taking over government but about restoring the Constitutional order. Christians should serve as counselors to leaders, be active in the public square, restore parental rights, and uphold the separation of powers and the Bill of Rights. When the church is active and Christians are engaged, Kirk argues, free societies flourish.

Why 35,000 American Pastors Remain Silent on Cultural Issues

Kirk turns to a sobering statistic: by their research, there are approximately 30,000 to 35,000 pastors in America, yet the vast majority do not speak out on cultural issues. Many are swayed by media narratives and criticism. Kirk asks Wallnau why this is the case and how it can be solved. Wallnau responds with a historical analogy: the first generation had to fight Indians and clear land, the second generation barely survived harvesting crops, and the third generation made a living off the store stocked with food already provided. American Christians, he argues, live off the borrowed peace won by the World War II generation. They never had to fight for the fundamental principles of social order, so the clergy was never trained to be on the front lines of protecting those principles.

Instead, pastors focus on more esoteric subjects—how to live a victorious life, how to overcome stress—the kinds of themes that built megachurches like Rick Warren's Saddleback. But now families face entirely different problems: suicidal children, schools attempting to change children's gender identities, and teachings that blame skin color for all iniquity in America. Pastors are completely unequipped to address these issues unless two things happen: pressure from congregations demanding answers, and the provision of tools and resources, since none of this was taught in Bible college.

How American Seminaries Became Left-Wing Institutions

Kirk expresses shock at how many seminaries have become left-wing institutions masquerading as Christian colleges. He mentions once-great institutions like Calvin College and Taylor College in Indiana, asking Wallnau what happened to these schools. Wallnau explains that 20 years ago, he began teaching what became known as the Seven Mountains of Culture: media, academia, government, business, entertainment, family, and church. He warned that Christians needed to pay attention to all these spheres because the enemy would target the gates of influence. If the gates are occupied, the traffic can be controlled.

Wallnau urged churches to train children to become influencers within the world system rather than hiding from it or viewing ministry as the only acceptable Christian career. The idea was applauded but never seriously implemented. Meanwhile, Marxist strategist Antonio Gramsci's model—the Long March through the institutions—was being executed. The left didn't skip the religious mountain; they went straight for it. They normalized same-sex marriage, changed laws about what churches could say, and then targeted seminaries and Bible colleges. Wealthy donors were placed on boards, funding institutions on the condition that they modify their orthodoxy. This incremental takeover happened across every mountain of culture. What Christians failed to protect and steward spiritually, the enemy took. Retaking a gate once it's been surrendered is far harder than defending it in the first place.

A Synagogue Wraps the Torah in a Pride Flag

An email from a listener catches both Kirk and Wallnau's attention: a practicing Jew writes that the synagogue where they grew up wrapped the Torah in a pride flag for the entire month of June, illustrating that the problem isn't limited to churches. Wallnau, who is 20 percent Ashkenazi Jewish on his father's side, finds the image so incongruent it strikes him as darkly comedic. He compares it to the absurdity of calling Ben Carson a white nationalist—the contrast is so extreme it becomes a punchline. An orthodox Jew wrapping the Torah in a pride flag represents the kind of ideological incoherence that has infected religious institutions across the board.

God's Chaos Code: The Prophetic Pattern Connecting Israel and America

Kirk asks Wallnau to explain his book God's Chaos Code, originally published a few years ago but still deeply relevant today. Wallnau begins by referencing Chuck Missler, a brilliant engineer turned theologian who said that the greatest miracle of the 21st century was God taking the people of Israel, scattered across the world for 2,000 years, and bringing them back to their homeland. They spoke the same language, retained the same customs and beliefs, and even found the real estate available. Missler suggested that Christians should study every book of the Bible that speaks of Israel's return to understand what God was doing.

Wallnau took that advice and began searching for prophetic patterns. He discovered that when Israel returned in 1947, there was a sequence of events that mirrored what was happening in America, particularly in relation to the nation's connection with Israel. It started with Cyrus, an outsider raised up to protect the Jews, described in Isaiah 45. Wallnau realized that the 45th president, Donald Trump, was the only political outsider among a field of evangelical Christians like Mike Huckabee, Ted Cruz, and Ben Carson. Isaiah prophesied 120 years before Cyrus was born that God would raise up a ruler named Cyrus who would conquer Babylon for the sake of God's people, though Cyrus himself would not know God.

After Cyrus came the command to rebuild the national house—a vital structure for the nation. God commanded the restoration of the house, and when the Jews obeyed, a great awakening followed. This gives the acronym C-H-A-O-S: Cyrus, House, Awakening. Following the awakening, Nehemiah and Ezra rose up to rebuild the walls destroyed during Israel's period of disobedience and restore the twelve gates of influence that had been breached by Babylon. After that came sovereignty—Israel became a sovereign nation, the land where the Messiah would visit. Jesus spoke of sheep nations and goat nations at the end of the age: nations that retain their sovereignty and refuse to persecute God's people versus those that bow to the spirit of empire. Wallnau believes America is in this exact battle right now. God, he argues, is in the chaos.

Kim Clement's Prophecies About Trump and the American Party Movement

Multiple emails pour in asking about Kim Clement, whom Wallnau mentions in his book. Kirk asks Wallnau to share about his time with Clement and the prophecies the late minister made toward the end of his life. Wallnau explains that he and Clement traveled together, with Clement delivering prophetic ministry and Wallnau explaining the prophecies to audiences. As Clement put it, he would get the nuts, but someone else had to crack them.

Before Trump appeared on the political scene, Clement, speaking in his South African accent, prophesied: "The spirit of the Lord says that I am dissatisfied with both parties." Wallnau remembers thinking this was revolutionary—whoever heard of God being interested in politics? Clement continued: "What I am about to do will be repulsive to the Democrats and positively distasteful to the Republicans." Wallnau couldn't understand how any candidate could fulfill that, given America's two-party system. Then Trump came along and precisely fulfilled the prophecy.

Clement also prophesied that God would raise up a movement that would be neither Republican nor Democrat but would be for America—an American party movement. Wallnau believes this aligns with the Tea Party and the current populist movement sweeping the nation. Clement had other specific prophetic words for individuals in his audiences that were remarkably accurate, but it's his words about the republic and the battle for America that remain most relevant today.

Occupy Till I Come: Why Escaping Isn't an Option

Kirk raises a concern he frequently hears from Christians: things look so terrible that they believe events aren't falling apart but falling into place. Jesus is coming soon, so what's the point of fighting? How should Christians who emphasize eschatology to the point of disengagement be addressed? Wallnau doesn't mince words. While he doesn't want to insult sincere believers, he says they suffer from biblical illiteracy. Jesus commanded His followers to "occupy till I come." When a commander-in-chief departs and says he will return, like General MacArthur declaring "I will return," the command to occupy isn't a cue to hide in the basement eating soybeans and watching YouTube prophets.

Wallnau references Jesus' parable of the ten virgins. All ten were virgins, all were believers, but only five were ready when the bridegroom returned. Only five had oil in their lamps because they were engaged. The other five were sleeping. Those who want to anesthetize themselves and retreat—especially prevalent in California, Wallnau notes—believe the sooner things fall apart, the sooner Jesus returns. But Jesus said to occupy. He said all authority in heaven and earth has been given to Him, so believers should go and disciple nations, teaching them His worldview.

The mistake the American church made was isolating itself, focusing on its own growth and spiritual empowerment while waiting for Jesus' return. Meanwhile, the secular world was teaching. The church should have been doing what Jesus commanded: preaching the gospel and teaching nations. Christians should have been in education teaching worldview, in economics teaching economic principles. Most of the progress of civilization—science, music, from Bach to Newton—came from the Reformation base of Europe and from people of faith. These weren't the God-rejecting elites of Harvard; they were enlightened Christians who gave the world the Renaissance, the Reformation, and the progress America enjoys. When Christians say they don't want to get involved in the nitty-gritty of cultural engagement, Wallnau sees people forsaking the front lines where occupation is needed most.

Andy Stanley's Dangerous Retreat From Cultural Engagement

Kirk reads from a book by prominent evangelical leader Andy Stanley, who argues that evangelicals have revealed what they value most through their reaction to political and cultural shifts: a relentless drive to win. Stanley writes, "But the church is not here to win. By every human measure, our Savior lost on purpose, with a purpose. We are not in it to win anything." He argues the evangelical church faces a state of emergency over politics and that Christians should not get involved at all.

Wallnau responds forcefully. The American church faces a crisis over whether it will remain under the influence of false teachers like Andy Stanley or whether congregants will be enlightened in time to protect themselves and their children from the loss of liberty. Stanley's logic is flawed: he evaluates evangelical engagement in political matters as a mere desire to win. But Wallnau offers an analogy. If Al-Qaeda is trying to break into the cockpit of a plane carrying your family on vacation, winning means keeping Al-Qaeda from the controls that will crash your future. Christians engage in battle out of love for the passengers of the plane—out of love for their children. This is a battle for survival, a fight to keep the lights on for liberty and freedom of speech.

Wallnau points to examples from Canada: Jordan Peterson spending $40,000 a month in legal expenses and being forced to undergo social media communication training under the Trudeau government to retain his license as a psychiatrist. Pastor Artur Pawlowski faces potential prison time for preaching to the truckers during their protest. Andy Stanley, Wallnau says bluntly, is out to lunch, and he feels sorry for those under his influence. The Apostle Paul said, "I don't run aimlessly, I don't fight aimlessly. I fight to score points. As an athlete, I keep my body under control." All of Paul's metaphors were about being in it to win it—to win the crown of God's approval for a job well done. The job of American Christians is to preserve the religious liberty and truth God has given this country before the lights go out. If believers do not occupy until Christ comes, the territory will be occupied by something seven times worse: perversion, communism, Marxism, and death.

Kirk adds that First Corinthians 15:57 says, "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." He doesn't understand how Stanley could write that by every human measure, the Savior lost. Even by human measures, rising from the dead is the greatest victory ever.

How Georgia Pastors Cost Trump the State

Wallnau makes a controversial statement: Andy Stanley and Creflo Dollar, two of the most prominent and influential Georgia preachers, made the decision not to educate and engage their congregations, and that decision probably cost Georgia in the election. With Georgia's loss, Trump now struggles for his own survival as the most deranged zip code in the state—Fulton County—attempts to put him behind bars. That outcome, Wallnau argues, can be laid at the feet of two pastors who subscribe to the demonic idea that Christians shouldn't care about the government mountain. Kirk adds that Stanley and other Georgia pastors have done nothing to speak out about people wrongfully indicted by Fani Willis. If you are in ministry and abuse the holy calling, Kirk argues, you should not be in ministry—you should find something else to do. Those in ministry should be held to a higher standard.

Supporting Lance Wallnau's Ministry

Kirk gives Wallnau an opportunity to promote his work. Wallnau shares that The Lance Wallnau Show has reached around 11 million downloads since launching just two years ago. His challenge is unique: he's too Christian for secular radio and too political for Christian radio. He believes Kirk is one of the few who has successfully navigated both worlds. Wallnau made the decision to build a podcast where he doesn't edit what he says out of fear of censors. He agrees with Tucker Carlson's approach: say the thing they don't want you to talk about. Wallnau believes the awakening in America will be driven by Christian engagement but will ultimately become a populist movement. That's the focus of his show, available on any podcast platform. For old-timers, he still does Facebook videos—late-night rants around 11 p.m. that his studio team can't keep up with, where he ventilates and goes through what he jokingly calls Gestalt therapy.

What to Do When Your Pastor Won't Budge

In closing, Kirk and Wallnau address a question they receive constantly: "I love everything you're saying, but my pastor won't budge. He says we only preach the gospel. Should I confront him, counsel him, challenge him, or leave the church?" Wallnau offers practical advice. First, understand that the church operates somewhat like a political institution. Who is the pastor's primary client? Who is he trying to keep happy? He has elders, a board of directors or nonprofit board, and leadership on his eldership team—whoever brought him in if he's the successor to a previous pastor. If you're not a member in good standing, your opinion is essentially useless. If you're not a giving, participating, influential member, you're just another voice.

The key is to make sure you have a good relationship with the pastor and the church by investing in it. Second, don't go alone. One single voice isn't powerful, but if you can get two or three other people to join you, that gets a pastor's attention. If you can find one businessman, one significant tither or giver whose faith aligns with yours, and approach the pastor together, you'll have leverage. Frame the request not as asking the pastor to change the gospel but to address questions the congregation is hearing all the time. Barna's research shows that 90 percent of people in the pews want to know how the Bible applies to economics, race theory, sex, and gender. If the pastor understands that you have influence, that you have someone in business behind you, and that you're asking him to be informed on things 90 percent of the church wants to hear about, you'll have far more leverage than simply saying, "Why don't you talk about abortion?"

[00:24] wall now show I check it on real

[00:26] America's voice on the weekend it is

[00:28] excellent and honored to have him with

[00:31] us for the full hour Lance how you doing

[00:33] welcome to the program

[00:34] I'm doing well and how exciting do you

[00:37] hear you have 1100 pastors Charlie how

[00:39] is that different than when you started

[00:41] years ago trying to get churches to get

[00:44] interested in the future of America and

[00:47] conservative youth

[00:50] yeah it's it's amazing Lance it's a

[00:52] worker the Lord and when we started this

[00:55] project the TP USA faith I had no idea

[00:57] what the response would be and we

[00:59] actually have a seating problem we have

[01:00] more pastors that want to attend this

[01:02] now our third Pastor Summit in the last

[01:04] 13 months uh we did one in August of

[01:07] last year we did one in Nashville uh

[01:09] that was massive and this one's the

[01:10] biggest one ever so praise God uh it's

[01:12] it's really uh growing like wild in our

[01:15] critics Lance call us Christian

[01:17] nationalists now I have a response to

[01:19] that but Lance How would how should a

[01:21] Christian respond how should a pastor

[01:22] respond if they are all of a sudden

[01:24] confronted with the accusation that they

[01:26] are a Christian nationalist

[01:28] but and this is something Rush used to

[01:31] talk about he said that no matter what

[01:33] label or name you come up with they have

[01:36] this ubiquitous power through media and

[01:39] sound bite to stigmatize anything so

[01:43] that a Christian nationalist is I'm

[01:45] almost at the point now where I'm

[01:47] thinking uh what do we got to do we have

[01:49] to constantly like change our name so am

[01:52] I a

[01:53] um a Christian populist maybe that

[01:55] throws them off for a week and then

[01:57] they'll come back at me at something but

[01:59] really what is or you could be like

[02:00] William Booth he said when he was spit

[02:03] on once during a um a Salvation Army

[02:06] march he said wear it like a badge of

[02:09] honor because eventually they're going

[02:11] to stigmatize whatever you call yourself

[02:13] I'm a Christian I believe in God and I

[02:16] love my nation I guess that makes me a

[02:18] nationalist if that's evil then then

[02:21] don't uh don't misrepresent what the

[02:23] word actually means it means that I'm a

[02:25] Christian loves my nation you on the

[02:27] other hand are what you're you're

[02:28] someone who isn't a Christian who

[02:30] doesn't love his Nation so what do we

[02:32] call that

[02:33] we may end up just at that point we have

[02:35] to wear it as a badge of honor

[02:39] yeah so that that's I think there's some

[02:41] truth to that Lance unfortunately far

[02:43] too many passengers they they think of

[02:45] it as a slur or they think of it as

[02:49] something to be apologetic or they say

[02:51] well you know I I don't want to take

[02:53] over the over the government as a

[02:55] Christian but we're contending for

[02:57] restoring the Constitutional order

[02:59] aren't we Lance that we believe that the

[03:01] church and Christians should be

[03:03] counselors to the king to be in the

[03:04] Public Square to restore parents rights

[03:07] to restore separation of powers and the

[03:09] promise of the Bill of Rights these are

[03:11] not radical proposals we believe that

[03:13] when the church is active and Christians

[03:15] are aware that a free Society flourishes

[03:18] Lance we're trying to solve this problem

[03:20] here at our pastor Summit and mind you

[03:22] not every at one of these attendees is

[03:24] all in necessarily as outspoken as Lance

[03:27] wall now or Charlie Kirk some of them

[03:28] are in the middle some of them are you

[03:30] know getting into the action or the

[03:32] Praxis if you will however there are

[03:35] still plenty of naysayers that say boy

[03:37] it sounds really scary to speak doubt on

[03:40] these things it I don't know if I'm

[03:42] comfortable because I could be

[03:44] criticized what just kind of give a

[03:46] bigger picture there's to our estimation

[03:48] there's about 30 to 35

[03:50] 000 Pastors in America Lance there might

[03:52] be even more but that's based on our

[03:53] research about 30 to 35 000 senior

[03:55] pastors or pastors that are giving

[03:57] sermons on a weekly basis or on a

[03:59] bi-weekly basis

[04:00] what a vast majority of them do not

[04:03] speak out on cultural issues and a lot

[04:04] of them are swayed by the media why is

[04:07] that and how do we go about solving it

[04:09] in in your opinion well it's it's the

[04:12] weakness unfortunately Charlie of

[04:13] history when you're raised in a family

[04:16] you're third generation your first your

[04:18] grandparents had to go fight the Indians

[04:21] and the land and and be able to you know

[04:24] plant a village the next generation was

[04:27] barely able to harvest the crop and

[04:29] survive the third generation then was

[04:31] making a living off of the store in the

[04:33] neighborhood with the food already

[04:35] provided we live off the borrowed piece

[04:38] of the second world war generation we

[04:41] never had to fight actually the issues

[04:43] that we're fighting now so the clergy

[04:46] has never been trained to be the front

[04:48] lines of protecting fundamental

[04:50] principles of social order they talk

[04:53] about the more esoteric subject matter

[04:55] about you know what you know about how

[04:57] to live a Victorious Life how to

[04:59] overcome stress those are the themes

[05:01] that Rick Warren built Saddleback on now

[05:04] you turn it around and say well how do

[05:06] you deal with a child that's suicidal or

[05:08] what do you do when the schools trying

[05:09] to convert your 11 year old and to

[05:11] becoming a different or what do you do

[05:13] when you're being taught that your

[05:15] child's skin color is the reason for all

[05:17] the iniquity in the United States now

[05:19] the pasture has got a whole different

[05:21] set of problems he totally unequipped to

[05:24] address unless we do two things provide

[05:27] the pressure for them to address them

[05:29] which is coming through the congregation

[05:30] evidently and secondly the tools and

[05:33] resources none of this was taught to

[05:35] them at Bible College

[05:38] yeah that's right Lance and let's talk

[05:40] about the Bible College or the

[05:42] seminaries I am shocked at how some of

[05:44] these seminaries have become basically

[05:46] left-wing institutions

[05:48] that are camouflaged or masquerading as

[05:51] seminaries how lost is the traditional

[05:55] American Seminary I mean I hear stories

[05:57] from some that have been these wonderful

[05:59] places like Calvin College or Taylor

[06:02] College in Indiana that used to be some

[06:04] of the strongest Bible colleges what has

[06:06] happened to our once great institutions

[06:08] and Seminary Slants where did where did

[06:10] that go off the rails because they're

[06:12] unrecognizable many of them now

[06:15] they are and and so now it's it's so

[06:17] funny we're talking about this because

[06:19] 20 years ago I started what became

[06:21] almost like a a cult classic it's seven

[06:24] mountains of culture 20 years ago I

[06:27] started talking to the church about you

[06:29] better pay attention to media and to

[06:32] Academia and the government and the

[06:34] business and to entertainment along with

[06:37] your family and with your church because

[06:39] the devil if you want to put it in

[06:41] Christian language the devil will go for

[06:44] the gates of influence if he can occupy

[06:46] the gates he can control the traffic he

[06:49] will go for the top of these

[06:51] institutions and we'd better be training

[06:53] our children to think about being

[06:55] influences within the world system and

[06:58] not hiding out from the world system

[06:59] looking for some kind of a Rapture

[07:01] Exodus or going into Ministry is the

[07:03] only career for a Christian and the idea

[07:06] was applauded but no churches took it

[07:09] seriously meanwhile you've got the

[07:11] Socialist Marx's Italian grandchy model

[07:14] Act being executed the Long March

[07:17] through the institutions and they didn't

[07:19] skip the religious Mountain they went

[07:21] right to it they said well we're going

[07:23] to have same-sex marriage verified and

[07:25] accepted and then we're going to begin

[07:27] to have we're going to change the laws

[07:29] about how the church can speak and what

[07:31] it could talk about and then we're going

[07:33] to go to the seminaries the Bible

[07:35] colleges and we're going to start to put

[07:37] wealthy donors on the boards who will

[07:39] fund if you will go along with certain

[07:41] modifications to your Orthodoxy it it's

[07:44] and it's done that way on Every Mountain

[07:46] it's done that way in education as well

[07:48] incrementally what you don't protect and

[07:51] Steward uh spiritually the devil will

[07:54] take those Gates have now become taken

[07:57] captive and it's harder to retake a gate

[08:00] once you've given it up

[08:04] that is really wise the check out the

[08:06] Lance wall now program we're gonna be

[08:08] with Lance the entire hour he also has a

[08:11] book God's chaos code by Lance Walnut

[08:14] the shocking blueprint that reveals five

[08:16] keys to the destiny of Nations uh the

[08:19] Lance wall now show is excellent and has

[08:21] a new podcast out and also author of

[08:24] God's chaos code uh Cyrus Trump which is

[08:28] a really great book I remember when uh

[08:31] Lance first laid out that Donald Trump

[08:33] was very similar to Cyrus I really

[08:35] encourage you guys to check it out also

[08:37] we got an email here from one of our

[08:39] listeners they said Charlie I'm

[08:41] resonated with Lance saying I'm a

[08:43] practicing Jew the uh synagogue I grew

[08:46] up in wrapped the Torah the entire month

[08:48] of June in the pride flag so it's not

[08:50] just churches and so you're spot on

[08:52] their Lance and we'll talk about that

[08:54] and and just that's pretty amazing that

[08:56] one's a new one I gotta be honest I I

[08:57] have not heard that one uh so we'll talk

[09:00] about that in a second welcome back

[09:01] everybody Lance wall now continues with

[09:03] us Atlanta Lance just any reaction to

[09:06] the synagogue wrapping the Torah in the

[09:08] pride flag your reaction Lance Walnut

[09:11] listen you know the the I really wish we

[09:13] had a full-time comedy team because

[09:15] Babylon B is about the only place I can

[09:17] go to to catch people to catch it the

[09:20] essence of humor is when you take an

[09:22] unpredictable Direction at the end of

[09:24] the punch line and there's nothing to me

[09:26] because I'm 20 Ashkenazi Jew I'm Jewish

[09:29] on my father's side there's nothing to

[09:31] me more incongruent than let's say an

[09:34] orthodox Jew wrapping the Torah and a

[09:37] pride flag there's so I'm thinking where

[09:40] can you find greater uh contrast or a

[09:43] punch line than that so so that's when

[09:46] you said it I started laughing I don't

[09:47] know why I was laughing I was thinking

[09:48] now that's about as incongruent as you

[09:50] could possibly get uh but there it is

[09:53] it's it's just you know it's like when

[09:55] they call Ben Carson uh you know a a

[09:57] white nationalist it's there's something

[09:59] about these things that cracks me up and

[10:01] I can't figure it out

[10:04] so Lance tell us about your book God's

[10:07] chaos code uh it was originally

[10:09] published a couple years ago but the

[10:11] truths are just as relevant today as it

[10:14] was then tell us about your book and how

[10:16] it applies today

[10:17] yeah it's very simple you know Chuck

[10:19] Missler years ago great brilliant um

[10:22] engineer turns Theologian in California

[10:24] said that the greatest Miracle of the

[10:27] 21st century was that God took a people

[10:28] like Israel scattered all over the world

[10:30] and brought it back into their Homeland

[10:32] after 2 000 years and they spoke the

[10:34] same language they had the same custom

[10:36] they come with the same beliefs and they

[10:38] pick up where they left off and the real

[10:39] estate was even available and he said

[10:42] that what we should be looking at is

[10:45] every book of the Bible that speaks of

[10:47] what happened when they returned and

[10:50] what God did and that's when I started

[10:52] going to the Bible and saying wait a

[10:54] second maybe there's a prophetic pattern

[10:55] when Israel in 1947 came back maybe

[10:59] there's a pattern to what happened to

[11:01] Israel and what's happening in the world

[11:03] and particularly to this Gentile country

[11:05] the United States that has been so

[11:08] significant in its in its connection

[11:10] with Israel and that's when I was

[11:12] shocked I saw that it started with Cyrus

[11:15] an outsider who was brought in to

[11:17] protect the Jews and it's Isaiah 45 I

[11:20] looked at Isaiah 45 and said my gosh the

[11:23] 45th president is the only Outsider

[11:25] we've got everyone else is a is an

[11:27] Evangelical to Christians he's got a

[11:29] Huckabee you got a cruise you got uh Ben

[11:31] Carson Trump comes in as The Outsider as

[11:34] the Cyrus type and then it goes on to

[11:37] say that when they went back Cyrus said

[11:39] I'm that God raised up Cyrus for the

[11:42] sake of his people I think Americans

[11:44] praying for this broadcast for those

[11:46] that are Christians our desperate

[11:48] prayers and intercession are the only

[11:50] thing that stands between America and

[11:52] imminent self-destruction so it was the

[11:55] prayers and so of Cyrus Isaiah the

[11:57] prophet said 120 years before Cyrus was

[12:00] born predicted God is going to raise up

[12:02] a ruler named Cyrus he's going to go

[12:04] into Babylon he's going to go he's going

[12:06] to go there for my people's sake though

[12:09] when he does it he will not be someone

[12:11] who knows of me so right there I have my

[12:14] argument that we can elect somebody like

[12:16] Trump when he was running that he'll

[12:18] he'll have an encounter with God but God

[12:20] raises up Sovereign vessels for the sake

[12:22] of his people after Cyrus Came to power

[12:24] the next thing was the focus is what

[12:27] you're doing Charlie which was the word

[12:29] was rebuild a national house rebuild a

[12:33] vital house for the nation Reese bill so

[12:36] God's command was restore the house

[12:38] Cyrus said go back to your land rebuild

[12:41] the house and when they did that they

[12:44] had a Great Awakening there's your C

[12:46] Cyrus there's your h house there's your

[12:48] a Awakening and the purpose of the

[12:51] Awakening was what followed right after

[12:52] that Nehemiah and Ezra rise up this is

[12:56] exactly the history of the Jews they go

[12:58] back and they begin to rebuild the walls

[13:01] that were destroyed during their period

[13:03] of Disobedience and restore the gates of

[13:06] influence the Twelve Gates that were

[13:09] sieged by Babylon the infusion that came

[13:11] into their country and after that we

[13:14] come to the S they became a Sovereign

[13:16] Nation land where the Messiah himself

[13:19] would visit fulfilling prophecy or what

[13:22] Jesus says is Sovereign sheep Nations at

[13:24] the end of the age and goat nations are

[13:27] going to be gathered together just two

[13:28] types of Nations those that retain their

[13:32] sovereignty and refuse to persecute

[13:34] God's people and those that bow the need

[13:36] of the spirit of Empire and that's where

[13:38] we're at right now it's spelled

[13:40] c-h-a-o-s God is in the chaos

[13:45] we're going to talk more about that

[13:46] after the break you also can check out

[13:48] lancewallnow.com where he has several

[13:50] interesting

[13:52] episodes out that I want to ask him

[13:53] about uh including Jewish Secrets

[13:56] Christians must learn so I want to ask

[13:58] about that after the break Lance stay

[14:00] right there Lance wall now continues

[14:03] with us so Lance we're receiving several

[14:05] emails about Kim Kim Clement uh you

[14:09] mentioned him in your book talk about

[14:11] your time with Kim Clement and some of

[14:13] the some would say prophecies or

[14:16] predictions that he made towards the end

[14:18] of his life tell us about that Lance

[14:20] sure so Tim and I travel together and uh

[14:23] he would he would do the prophetic

[14:25] Ministry and then he would kind of turn

[14:27] to me to explain uh to people what it

[14:30] was he was prophesied because he as he

[14:32] said he would get the nuts but someone

[14:34] else had to crack them so

[14:38] it's a for instance before before Trump

[14:40] came on the scene he prophesied he had

[14:43] this South African accent and he said

[14:45] the spirit of the Lord says that I am

[14:48] dissatisfied with both parties now first

[14:50] of all whoever heard God being

[14:51] interested in politics in the first

[14:53] place this is a revelation of a lot of

[14:54] pastors but this Prophet put it this way

[14:56] the spirit of the Lord says I'm

[14:58] dissatisfied with both parties and what

[15:00] I'm about to do will be uh will be

[15:03] repulsive to the Democrats and and

[15:05] positively distasteful to the

[15:07] Republicans and I remember him saying

[15:09] that I thought him you only have two

[15:11] party I mean independent parties don't

[15:13] make it to the finish line here so how

[15:15] could how could we ever have a candidate

[15:17] that's repulsive to both parties or

[15:20] disliked by either party but then Trump

[15:22] came along and it actually fulfilled

[15:25] fulfilled prophecy and then he went on

[15:27] to say that God was going to raise up a

[15:30] movement that was going to be neither

[15:33] this nor that but it would be for

[15:34] America it will be an American Party

[15:36] Movement and I've often said I think

[15:38] like the tea party and what's coming up

[15:40] now is the party that's for America and

[15:43] it's not grounded in the in the unit

[15:46] party which is he was ahead of his time

[15:48] the unit party of other I can tell you

[15:50] stories about specific words that he got

[15:52] with people in audiences that that are

[15:55] raised their hair in your arms but this

[15:57] is the part that is the most relevant to

[15:58] the battle we're in right now as a

[16:00] republic

[16:03] and he had some very specific prophecy

[16:06] we're actually going to try to get some

[16:08] of the tape here if we could do it in

[16:09] time

[16:10] Lance wall now continues with us

[16:12] lancewall now.com and Lance I hear from

[16:16] some Christians and you talk about this

[16:17] here you know unlocking end time Secrets

[16:19] is one of the podcasts that you do in

[16:21] the Lance well now show I hear from some

[16:23] Christians Charlie things look so

[16:25] terrible they're not falling apart

[16:26] they're falling into place Jesus is

[16:28] coming next Thursday what is the point

[16:30] to fight Lance how do you respond to

[16:33] Christians that emphasize eschatology to

[16:36] such an extent where they say I'm done

[16:38] fighting I'm done contesting for truth

[16:42] well that's just frankly I don't mean to

[16:44] insult them because they're sincere

[16:46] people that would take the time to write

[16:47] but what they suffer from is biblical

[16:49] illiteracy Jesus said this I occupy till

[16:54] I come

[16:55] now when you get words like that from a

[16:57] commander-in-chief who's leaving

[16:59] departing and he says I'm coming back

[17:00] like MacArthur I will return and he says

[17:03] meanwhile occupied till I come that's

[17:06] not the cue for you to be preoccupied

[17:08] with when he comes while you hide out in

[17:10] the basement eating soy beans and

[17:12] watching your favorite YouTube profit so

[17:15] the people that are retreating from the

[17:16] Battle of culture I I would almost

[17:19] predict are the very ones who Jesus

[17:23] warns about who many there's ten virgins

[17:25] when he comes back they're all virgins

[17:27] they're all believers they're all virgin

[17:29] only five of them were ready when he

[17:31] returned five of them had oil in their

[17:34] lamp they had oil with them why because

[17:36] they were engaged the other five were

[17:39] sleeping so those that want to hide out

[17:42] that want to anesthetize themselves that

[17:44] want to go into and California is like

[17:47] the Grand Puba of this deception we're

[17:49] just not going to vote and get involved

[17:51] with politics because the sooner Things

[17:52] Fall Apart the sooner Jesus returns well

[17:54] that's not exactly right Jesus says

[17:57] occupied till I come and then he says

[17:59] all authority in Heaven and Earth has

[18:01] been given to me go therefore and

[18:04] disciple Nations break out what I teach

[18:07] as a worldview teach other nations the

[18:10] mistake we made in America is the church

[18:12] isolated itself focused on its own

[18:15] growth its own spiritual empowerment and

[18:19] uh the return of Jesus while the secular

[18:22] World taught we preached and they taught

[18:25] we should have done what Jesus said

[18:27] preach the gospel and teach Nations we

[18:30] should have been in education teaching

[18:32] worldview we should have been in

[18:34] economics teaching economics you know

[18:36] most of the progress of civilization

[18:38] people don't get this came out of the

[18:40] Reformation base of Europe it came out

[18:43] of science it came out from music with

[18:45] Bach to to Newton these were people of

[18:48] Faith Charlie these were these weren't

[18:50] the enlightened God rejecters of Harvard

[18:52] these were enlightened Christians who

[18:56] gave us the Renaissance the reformation

[18:57] and the progress we have in America so

[19:00] so when I hear Christians say they don't

[19:02] want to get involved with

[19:04] um with the nitty-gritty of what you're

[19:06] doing right now I see people that are

[19:09] forsaking the front lines of the battle

[19:11] where occupation is needed most

[19:15] so let me read here Lance and I'd like

[19:18] to have you respond Andy Stanley wrote a

[19:21] book about not getting involved in

[19:23] politics he writes quote the reaction of

[19:26] evangelicals to political and cultural

[19:28] ships in recent years revealed what they

[19:31] value most lurking beneath our

[19:33] bible-laced rhetoric Faith claims books

[19:35] and sermons is a Relentless drive to win

[19:37] but the church is not here to win writes

[19:40] Andy Stanley by every human measure Our

[19:42] Savior lost on purpose with a purpose

[19:46] bizarre I don't really know how he could

[19:48] say that and we are his body we are not

[19:50] in it to win anything we are in it for

[19:53] something else entirely that something

[19:55] else is what this book is about and so

[19:57] he argues here that the church should

[20:01] not get involved at all he's a quote

[20:02] unquote leading Evangelical speaker he

[20:06] at cnn.com article says here quote I

[20:09] want to make sure I read this correctly

[20:11] and quote it correctly that the

[20:13] Evangelical Church faces a state of

[20:15] emergency over politics and getting

[20:18] involved in politics Lance wall now your

[20:21] reaction to Andy Stanley

[20:23] the um the state of the American Church

[20:26] faces a crisis over whether or not it's

[20:29] going to be under the influence of these

[20:31] false teachers like Andy Stanley or

[20:33] whether they're going to be enlightened

[20:35] in time to protect themselves and their

[20:36] children from the loss of Liberty the uh

[20:40] the problem with Andy Stanley is that he

[20:43] doesn't that they listen to the logic of

[20:45] what he said that he is evaluated that

[20:47] evangelicals get engaged with political

[20:50] matters because of their desire to win

[20:53] well let's say that you've got Al Qaeda

[20:56] trying to break into the cockpit of the

[20:58] plane you and your family are on your

[21:00] way to a vacation but Al Qaeda wants to

[21:02] crash it maybe winning for you is

[21:05] keeping Al Qaeda from being behind the

[21:07] controls that will crash your future and

[21:10] your family this is why we engage in

[21:12] every battle we get into it's out of

[21:15] love for the passengers of the plane

[21:17] it's out of love for our children we are

[21:19] intended to win it we're fighting for

[21:22] survival at this point we're in the

[21:24] battle of the ages to keep the lights on

[21:26] for Liberty and freedom of speech when

[21:28] you've got Jordan Peterson in Ontario

[21:30] Canada uh having to put forty thousand

[21:33] dollars a month up in legal expenses and

[21:35] being forced in order to retain his

[21:37] license as a psychiatrist to have to

[21:39] subject themselves to Social Media

[21:41] communication training under the Trudeau

[21:44] government when you have another Pastor

[21:46] like Arthur pawlowski struggling to

[21:48] maybe have to go to prison because he

[21:50] was preaching the gospel the truckers

[21:52] when they were protesting my friend Andy

[21:54] Stanley is out to lunch I feel sorry for

[21:57] the people that are under the influence

[21:59] of of voices like that the Apostle Paul

[22:02] said that I don't run aimlessly I don't

[22:04] fight aimlessly I fight in order to

[22:07] score points and as an athlete I keep my

[22:10] body under all the metaphors of Paul

[22:12] were about being in it to win it he was

[22:15] in it to win the crown of God's approval

[22:18] for a job well done our job in America

[22:20] is to preserve the religious liberty and

[22:23] the truth that God has given this

[22:24] country before the lights go out and if

[22:27] we do not occupy till he comes the

[22:30] territory will be occupied by something

[22:32] seven times worse perversion communism

[22:36] Marxism death is going to be in our

[22:39] future

[22:43] First Corinthians 15 57 but

[22:46] no it's not and it says here in First

[22:48] Corinthians 15 57 but thanks be to God

[22:51] which giveth us the victory through our

[22:54] Lord Jesus Christ I don't understand how

[22:56] Andy Stanley could write that

[22:59] by every human measure Our Savior lost I

[23:02] mean rise up in the dead even by human

[23:06] measures is like the greatest Victory

[23:07] ever what does he mean by that Lance but

[23:09] by every human well what he's saying is

[23:12] that Christian is it's a pietism gone

[23:15] crazy it's almost like uh Alzheimer's

[23:18] got to him with pietism what happens is

[23:20] the the idea that you're supposed to be

[23:22] separated from the motivation of carnal

[23:25] things this is true we are not in it in

[23:28] order to gain Earthly recognition or

[23:31] power this is what the left and the weak

[23:33] evangelicals accuse us of Charlie they

[23:36] say you guys are in a power struggle

[23:38] just like the left is in a power

[23:40] struggle actually no that's why I use

[23:42] the metaphor of al-Qaeda in a plane for

[23:44] 9 11. what we're trying to do is we're

[23:47] trying to protect we're using the

[23:48] god-given freedoms that we have in order

[23:51] to protect ourselves from the loss of

[23:54] those freedoms Andy Stanley I'm going to

[23:56] say something controversial Andy Stanley

[23:58] and Creflo dollar are two of the most

[24:01] prominent powerful influential Georgia

[24:04] preachers we've got their decision to

[24:08] not educate and engage their

[24:10] congregations probably cost us Georgia

[24:13] and with that you now have Trump

[24:16] struggling with his own Survival where

[24:19] the one case where the most deranged zip

[24:21] code could put in behind bars occupies

[24:24] you could lay that at the foot of two

[24:27] pastors who subscribe to the Demonic

[24:30] idea that Christians shouldn't care

[24:32] about the government Mountain

[24:36] yeah so what is Andy Stanley and the

[24:39] Georgia pastors done to speak out about

[24:42] the people that have been wrongfully

[24:43] indicted by Fanny Willis nothing of

[24:46] course nothing and such a powerful Point

[24:48] Lance and I mean some people say oh

[24:50] Charlie you pick on Andy Stanley too

[24:52] much now he picks on he picks on the

[24:55] truth too much and so he deserves it and

[24:57] Lance about a minute react to this that

[24:59] if you are in the ministry and you're

[25:02] abusing the holy you should not be in

[25:05] the ministry you can go find something

[25:06] else to do

[25:07] so tell us about this you look the guy

[25:10] react to that Lance if you're in the

[25:11] ministry you are should be you should be

[25:12] held to a higher standard one minute

[25:14] remaining Lance well now

[25:16] you know you know so the way that teach

[25:18] the the words should be held to a higher

[25:20] scrutiny and uh and and certainly the

[25:23] the thing like with Andy Stanley I was

[25:25] thinking about he's not in it to win it

[25:26] so so he's he's going to choose it to

[25:29] lose it nobody uh that is going to get

[25:32] behind the pulpit today can afford to go

[25:36] there unless they have courage and that

[25:38] means that you can't be worried about

[25:40] losing people or losing money but I can

[25:42] almost promise you every Pastor that is

[25:44] articulate well informed and properly

[25:46] motivated will replace the people he

[25:48] loses with actually strongly committed

[25:51] Patriot Christians who will build your

[25:53] church it's the best Church growth

[25:55] strategy in the world right now is to

[25:58] have a perspective and articulate it

[26:00] strongly because the church is looking

[26:02] for leadership

[26:06] the church is in desperate need of

[26:08] leadership and it is hard to find check

[26:11] it out Lance walnut.com and the Lance

[26:13] wanna short more in just a second Lance

[26:16] I want to give you an opportunity plug

[26:17] your show your podcast glance you've

[26:19] been very generous of your time you've

[26:20] been a great friend tell people how they

[26:22] could support you your program and the

[26:24] content that you're putting out Lance

[26:25] well now well thank you so much Charlie

[26:28] so the latest wall now show has like

[26:29] around got like around a weird 11

[26:31] million downloads or something so far

[26:33] and we just started like two years ago

[26:36] and the real the real challenge for me

[26:38] is I don't know how you handle this well

[26:40] I think you do it well but uh I have a

[26:43] difficulty because I can't get on

[26:44] secular radio because I'm too Christian

[26:46] I can't get on Christian radio because

[26:48] I'm too political you're the only guy I

[26:50] know that's been able to navigate the

[26:51] two and get radio stations so I should

[26:53] probably work with you more but the uh

[26:55] the beautiful thing about the show we've

[26:57] got is I get to talk about whatever I

[27:00] want to talk about because uh I've got

[27:02] 200 000 subscribers they took me off of

[27:05] YouTube on and I made the decision I'm

[27:07] going to build a podcast where I don't

[27:10] edit what I say or fear of what sensors

[27:13] don't uh approve of I agree with Dr

[27:15] Carlson say the thing they don't want

[27:17] you to talk about and I believe the

[27:19] Awakening that is in America right now

[27:21] is going to be driven by Christian

[27:22] engagement but it's going to ultimately

[27:24] become a populist movement so that's the

[27:27] focus of our show uh Charlie you can get

[27:29] it on any kind of a platform and I do a

[27:31] lot of uh for the old timers I still do

[27:33] a lot of Facebook videos because I do

[27:36] these late night rants at around 11

[27:37] o'clock that my studio team can't keep

[27:39] up with so that's when I ventilate and

[27:42] go through my Gestalt therapy

[27:48] in closing here Lance I want you to

[27:50] address this it's kind of a two-part

[27:51] question Charlie and Lance I love

[27:53] everything you're saying but my pastor

[27:55] won't budge he says we only preach the

[27:57] gospel should I try to confront him

[27:59] counsel him challenge him leave the

[28:02] church we get this question all the time

[28:04] Lance I'm sure you do too should I leave

[28:06] the church should I find a better church

[28:08] should I try to change the church

[28:09] because it's one thing to talk to

[28:11] pastors we're trying to do this at TP

[28:12] USA Faith but also in the congregants

[28:15] your reaction Lance as we kind of close

[28:18] out this discussion how they should

[28:19] handle this

[28:20] yes well two things uh first of all

[28:22] understand that I hate to say this but

[28:25] the church is a little bit like a

[28:26] political institution who is the

[28:29] pastor's primary uh client who is he

[28:31] trying to keep happy he's got Elders

[28:33] he's got bored a board of directors or a

[28:36] non-profit board he's got leadership on

[28:39] his eldership team whoever brought him

[28:40] in if he's the next Pastor after the

[28:42] last guy so the way that you have to

[28:45] approach this is if you're not a good

[28:46] member in standing your opinion is

[28:48] pretty much useless you're you're not a

[28:50] giving member a participating member if

[28:52] you're not an influential member then

[28:54] you're just an opinion so what you want

[28:56] to do is make sure you've got a good

[28:58] relationship with the pastor in the

[28:59] church by investing in it the second

[29:01] thing is don't go alone your one single

[29:04] voice isn't powerful but if you can get

[29:07] two or three other people to join with

[29:09] you that gets a pastor's attention if

[29:11] you get one businessman one Giver here's

[29:15] their economics one significant tither

[29:17] or give her to the church whose way

[29:20] Faith agrees with you get with that

[29:22] couple if they will support you in

[29:25] saying we don't want you to change the

[29:27] gospel we want you to address questions

[29:30] uh that are that we're hearing all the

[29:32] time and then you can look at barna's

[29:34] list of questions which people 90 of the

[29:37] people in the church want to have

[29:38] answers to they want to know how does

[29:40] the bible apply to economics how does

[29:41] the bible apply to race Theory how does

[29:42] the bible apply to sex and gender and if

[29:45] the pastor understands that you've got

[29:47] influence you've got someone in business

[29:49] behind you and that you're asking them

[29:51] to be informed on things that 90 percent

[29:53] of the church wants to hear about I

[29:55] would say you've got more leverage in

[29:57] that conversation than just saying why

[29:58] don't you talk about abortion or

[30:00] something like that

[30:04] everybody check it out lancewallnow.com

[30:06] he does an amazing job Lance thanks so

[30:10] much talk to you soon

[30:12] Charlie always good to see you
