The Fringe Shaped-Charge Theory About Kirk's Death
Showing 12 Shaped Charge videos from Charlie Kirk's video collection.
A fringe theory holds that Charlie Kirk was killed not by a rifle bullet but by a small explosive, described as a shaped charge, hidden inside the wireless microphone transmitter clipped to his shirt that day. Its main proponent, self-described body-armor specialist Jon Aaron Bray, has used frame-by-frame video analysis and comparisons to the 2023 Hezbollah pager attacks in Lebanon to argue that Kirk's shirt movement, wound shape, and posture are inconsistent with a high-velocity bullet strike.
Candace Owens has become the theory's most prominent promoter. She's cited it repeatedly alongside other disputed claims, and on one occasion said unnamed military explosive-ordnance-disposal technicians support the idea. That account runs directly against the official autopsy findings and the ballistics testimony of experts, including an ammunition-industry executive, who say the absence of an exit wound is fully consistent with the specific rifle round officials say struck Kirk. No physical evidence establishing a shaped charge has been entered into the public court record from Tyler Robinson's ongoing preliminary hearings, where prosecutors have instead presented DNA, ballistics, and confession evidence tied to a firearm.
