Ben Shapiro Exposes Candace Owens' Evil Attack Series on Erika Kirk and Deconstructs Wuthering Heights' Cultural Decay

Ben Shapiro confronts Candace Owens' deeply troubling new series targeting Erika Kirk, widow of Charlie Kirk, calling it evil conspiracy-mongering that exploits a grieving widow with small children. Shapiro reveals exclusive news that President Trump will bring Erika Kirk as his guest to the State of the Union address, where he plans to address the spiritual revival following Charlie's murder and reject political violence. Shapiro also dissects the new Wuthering Heights film as a symbol of civilization's moral collapse, contrasting the 1939 romantic masterpiece with 2026's pornographic degradation that replaces virtue and longing with lust and perversion.

Candace Owens Releases Attack Series on Charlie Kirk's Widow

Candace Owens has released a trailer for a new series titled "Bride of Charlie" that attacks Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk who was murdered just months ago. The series represents months of conspiratorial content targeting Turning Point USA and its leadership, includingbaseless implications about the circumstances of Charlie's death.

The trailer suggests Erika Kirk is a "lesbian pedophile" grooming a 15-year-old and implies TPUSA was complicit in either Charlie's murder or its cover-up. Owens has been spreading conspiracy theories involving French intelligence, Egyptian airplanes, and Mossad, when the actual perpetrator was a trans-loving gay man who was a furry.

This represents either severe mental illness or deliberate evil from Owens, who has spent months attacking a grieving widow with small children. The attacks violate the biblical injunction in Exodus 22 against oppressing widows and orphans. Erika Kirk should sue Owens for slander, and those with platforms who remain silent about these vicious attacks are guilty of cowardice.

Trump's State of the Union: Erika Kirk to Attend as Special Guest

In an exclusive report, Daily Wire White House correspondent Mary Margaret Olaham revealed that President Trump will bring Erika Kirk as his guest to the State of the Union address. The president plans to discuss the tremendous revival of faith and Christianity that has swept the nation since Charlie Kirk's death, with young people turning to God and Jesus Christ in unprecedented numbers.

Trump will also firmly reject political violence against fellow citizens, calling on all Congress members to condemn such violence. This comes after multiple assassination attempts against Trump himself, including a recent incident at Mar-a-Lago where the Secret Service shot and killed a man attempting to enter the property.

The State of the Union is expected to be lengthy, potentially exceeding the 99 minutes of last year's address. The president will celebrate American patriotism and tout accomplishments on the economy, border security, deportations, foreign policy wins, and making American cities safer. The men's Olympic hockey team will also attend after their gold medal victory, though the women's team graciously declined.

Trump's Polling Challenges and Economic Concerns

President Trump faces significant polling challenges heading into the State of the Union. The latest CNN poll shows only 32% of Americans believe Trump has the right priorities, while 68% say he hasn't paid enough attention to the country's most important problems. His job approval rating sits at just 36%, with 61% saying his policies move the country in the wrong direction.

Economic anxiety remains the primary driver of these numbers. Q4 growth came in low, and there are durable fears about artificial intelligence displacing jobs. Americans hear "AI" and think their jobs are on the line. Trump needs to convene AI leaders and explain that AI will make jobs easier and more productive rather than eliminate them entirely.

The president's continued focus on tariffs is not helping. Tariffs remain unpopular with the American public and create uncertainty for small businesses that must determine whether to invest in new workers or prepare for higher input costs. While the economy is overall pretty good, convincing people of something they don't feel in their guts is extremely difficult.

Congressional Scandal Threatens Republican Midterm Prospects

The generic congressional ballot shows Democrats with about a five-point margin, potentially reflecting a pickup of 20 to 25 seats. However, a scandal involving Representative Tony Gonzalez of Texas could turn this into a raging fire for Republicans, similar to the Mark Foley scandal that helped Democrats take Congress in 2006.

Gonzalez allegedly had an affair with Regina Santos Alez, a former staffer who committed suicide by burning herself to death. Text messages obtained by 24sight News show Gonzalez asking Santos Alez to send sexy pictures and speculating about sexual positions and practices. According to one of her friends, she had been battling depression ever since her husband found out about the relationship, causing Gonzalez to abruptly cut her off. Both were married.

Republican members of Congress are calling for Gonzalez to resign. Speaker of the House suggests a full investigation first, but immediate resignation seems necessary to prevent consequences from flowing upward to the entire Republican Party heading into the midterms.

Disorder in New York City Under Mayor Moroney

During the massive freeze that hit New York City and the East Coast, NYPD officers responding to a call in Washington Square Park were pelted with snowballs and objects by a mob of people. These weren't playful incidents but actual attempts to hurt officers. Every person hurling objects at police officers should be identified and jailed for assaulting officers.

This represents 1970s-style disorder in New York City, prompted and promoted by leaders like Zoran Moroney. The attitude governance has toward hoodlums in the streets directly impacts whether people act like hoodlums. Attacking a cop should mean jail time, but the rising level of disorder and chaos is a direct result of governance decisions in blue cities.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch called the behavior disgraceful and criminal, announcing detectives are investigating. The PBA called it unacceptable and outrageous. This sort of attitude toward cops has become commonplace since 2014's Ferguson riots, was somewhat reversed under Trump's first term, then exploded again in 2020. Blue cities are now effectively run by defund the police advocates, and disorder comes from the top, not the bottom.

Democratic Disconnect: From Internment Camps to Billionaire Threats

The disconnect within the Democratic Party continues to widen. Senator Ruben Gallego of Arizona, who harbors presidential ambitions, claimed ICE detention centers are "internment camps," demonstrating the extreme rhetoric Democrats employ against immigration enforcement.

Texas Representative Colin Allred, the Democratic Senate candidate being positioned as this cycle's Beto O'Rourke, appeared on podcasts suggesting Americans shouldn't worry about radical Islam, transgender shootings, or undocumented immigrants because they're each only 1% of the population. Instead, he argued, Americans should worry about rich people, the 1% who have participated most in the market providing goods and services.

This logic is bizarre. Should we not worry about murderers because they're a small percentage of the population? The percentage affected doesn't determine whether something is a bad idea. Telling children boys can be girls and treating them with hormones is problematic regardless of how many people are affected. In a free country, people get rich through free exchange of goods and services, not by stealing from poor people who don't have money.

Even Gavin Newsom acknowledges Democrats need to be "more culturally normal" and less focused on pronouns and identity politics. If Democrats can't hold the line on competitive sports, Newsom warns, they'll lose people and won't get invited into larger conversations. The party's focus on throwing snowballs at cops, leaving homeless people to freeze, and demonizing billionaires doesn't seem like a winning strategy.

Wuthering Heights: From Romance to Pornography

The new Wuthering Heights film represents the complete degradation of culture and the destruction of relationships between the sexes. Comparing the 1939 classic with Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon to the 2026 Emerald Fennell version with Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi reveals everything about where civilization stands.

The 1939 version, directed by William Wyler with music by Alfred Newman, is about longing and unfulfilled passion. The central conflicts are real and interesting: material comfort versus passionate but risky love, then love versus virtue. Heathcliff and Cathy never consummate their relationship. The only way they can be together is in death, which creates unbearable romantic tension. The famous final scene where dying Cathy tells Heathcliff to haunt her, and he responds "I cannot live without my life, I cannot die without my soul" represents true romance.

The 2026 version obliterates these conflicts entirely. It becomes lust versus materialism rather than love versus materialism. When Heathcliff returns, instead of virtue being an obstacle, they immediately have extensive sex scenes. There's no romantic tension because there's no romance, just lust. The film includes scenes of characters watching others engage in BDSM with horse bridles, Cathy masturbating on the hillside, Heathcliff saying he's more turned on that she's pregnant with another man's child, and Isabella literally on a leash barking like a dog.

The Casting Disaster and Cultural Implications

The casting destroys any possibility of the story working. Margot Robbie is 36 years old playing a character who should be 17 or 18. The story only makes sense rooted in Cathy's youthful immaturity, torn between materialism and wild passion. A 36-year-old constantly in lust is just a bizarre spectacle. Merle Oberon was 28 when she played the role and looked younger. Margot Robbie is cosplaying as a 16-year-old lustful wench, which is insulting.

Jacob Elordi is given nothing to do except stand there looking tall. There's nothing rebellious or interesting about him, nothing that bespeaks inner masculinity. He's just a moping, whining, tall good-looking guy with a pirate earring. Lawrence Olivier at 32 brought dominant masculine energy that made clear why Cathy was interested. The new version offers no explanation for the attraction beyond physical appearance.

This film is profoundly degrading to women. Emerald Fennell, a woman filmmaker, created perhaps the most degrading portrayal of women ever seen on film. Women are reduced to pure lust with no virtue, no romance, no deeper emotion. The film suggests women want to be treated as dogs, want men who openly despise them, and are turned on by humiliation.

Why This Matters: The Death of Eroticism

Society has more pornography than ever, more bizarre sexual fetishes than ever, and less eroticism, less romance, and significantly less actual sex than ever. We're becoming a society of sterility, a Brave New World scenario. The reason is that eroticism requires the forbidden.

Traditional society understood that the human mind is driven toward the forbidden. Libido seeks what is restricted. So societies took sex and hid it behind marriage. If you want the forbidden, you must do this responsible thing first. This is why classic comedies culminate in marriage—now you're in the realm of virtue, but you can do what was once forbidden, and it's good and healthy and plentiful.

Modern society obliterated everything forbidden. When there are no walls and no virtue, there's nothing forbidden. Without the forbidden, you must get wilder and wilder seeking the new high. It's a dopamine drug. This is why the new "sexiness" of Wuthering Heights is bizarre sexual perversion rather than actual romance.

The 1939 film is erotic without any sex or barely any kissing because the romantic tension is everything. Women read romance novels while men watch pornography because the sexes think about sex and romance differently. Women want plot and overarching structure of feeling before sex. The new Wuthering Heights offers close-up shots of "thundering nips" instead of romance, which is why it's not erotic or sexy or interesting despite being far more explicit.

The Silence of Conservative Leaders

Many prominent conservatives who should have condemned Candace Owens months ago remain silent. Some were called out by name at TPUSA in December for their cowardice in refusing to condemn her vicious attacks. Now, nearly the end of February, those same people remain silent as Owens releases an entire attack series on a grieving widow.

Where are Charlie's friends? Where are his closest friends? Where are all the people who proclaimed solidarity with Charlie and Erica? They're doing nothing. For people who continue watching Candace stitch together specious nonsense because they enjoy the gossip, the Maury Povich silliness of watching a car crash—have some respect for your own brain. Have some respect for yourself.

Candace Owens is good at broadcasting and good on camera, but she is not particularly smart. She's not some magical genius unpacking the secrets of how the world works. She's a grifter making money by telling lies that are unbelievably stupid but evocative. That could be the name of her autobiography: "Stupid But Evocative by Candace Owens." Except she would pronounce it "evocative."

Owens is a vampire when it comes to conservatism and the conservative movement. She finds prominent people, grifts off them, grifts more, grifts until she's done, then moves on to the next thing. She's making money off Charlie Kirk's murder by implicating his widow and everyone at TPUSA in that murder, trying to dig up pseudo-dirt on the murdered man's wife. That is evil trash, and Americans are too smart for this.
