Candace Owens Offers $10,000 Bounty to Uncover Truth Behind Staged Erika Kirk White House Correspondents Dinner Video

May 8, 2026

Candace Owens launches an investigation into the viral video of Erika Kirk leaving the White House Correspondents Dinner, offering a $10,000 bounty for information about who filmed it. After receiving multiple tips alleging the video was staged by political operatives and digital media teams, Owens examines the suspicious circumstances surrounding the footage, the immediate backlash she received, and the coordinated response pushing for a White House ballroom. She questions why the public was blamed for concerns about Erika's safety while those same critics orchestrated what appears to be a manufactured viral moment.

The $10,000 Bounty and Initial Suspicions

Candace Owens announced a $10,000 bounty for information regarding the viral video of Erika Kirk departing the White House Correspondents Dinner. The video, which showed Erika saying she wanted to go home following a shooting incident, sparked immediate controversy and backlash against Owens and others who had previously questioned Erika's public role.

Owens expressed confusion about being blamed for the incident, noting that she and others had consistently advised Erika to stay home with her children rather than take on a public-facing role. The situation became more perplexing when critics like Graham Allen, Mikhaila Peterson, and Ian Miles Cheong directed anger at Owens, with some suggesting her commentary had led to the traumatic situation.

Strange Details That Raised Red Flags

Several aspects of the incident struck Owens as unusual. Before the dinner, Erika posted photos that resembled bridal shots, with one showing her positioned inside sheer curtains with dramatic lighting. Owens found this choice particularly odd and questioned why it wasn't receiving more attention.

The video itself showed Erika stating she wanted to go home after the shooting incident. Owens pointed out the irony that this had been her suggestion all along, yet she was being criticized for it. The instantaneous virality of the footage and the timing of its release also raised suspicions about its authenticity.

The Public Backlash and Gas lighting Campaign

Following the incident, Owens faced intense criticism on social media. Graham Allen wrote about praying for Erika and her children, asking how much horror one woman should have to endure. Mikhaila Peterson shared that the video showed what PTSD looks like and criticized the mockery it triggered. Ian Miles Cheong directly blamed Owens and Tucker Carlson for the situation.

One account even suggested that propaganda and lies spread by Owens and Carlson led to the shooting, asking why they wanted Trump dead. Owens found this particularly absurd given that she had consistently advocated for Erika to maintain a lower profile and stay home with her family.

Erika's Response and the Wine Bottle Speech

Erika herself delivered a speech following the incident, describing details about the dinner that Owens found confusing. She discussed the proximity of opposing media outlets at the event and spent considerable time talking about the wine bottles on each table, noting that every ten-person table had ten bottles of wine. Owens questioned the relevance of these details and the overall tone of the presentation.

Investigation Results: Allegations of a Staged Video

After offering the bounty, Owens received multiple tips from people interested in collecting the $10,000. The most credible tip came from someone who works in politics and reached out almost immediately with a very specific story. This person offered several compelling pieces of evidence:

  • They provided specific names of individuals involved
  • They offered to sign a sworn affidavit
  • They named the person who allegedly recorded the video, someone who appears to have done work with Turning Point USA in the past
  • They work in politics themselves, adding credibility but also raising questions about potential bias

According to this source, a political operative was allegedly positioned in advance with specific instructions to capture the video at that exact place and time. The operative was supposedly in communication with digital media teams, and the entire moment was staged, captured, and then intentionally shared among these teams and their operatives to make it go viral.

Additional Evidence and Verification Attempts

A second person contacted Owens claiming to have video evidence. This individual sent a still image from the video that Owens verified as authentic and not AI-generated. The angle shown in the still had not been seen by the public. However, this person requested partial payment before sending the full 30-second video, making it a financial gamble for Owens.

Owens also questioned the original source of the video. Sarah Seidner of CNN initially posted the footage online but stopped short of saying she recorded it herself. She only stated she was present when Erika walked out. Owens suspected the video had been sent to Seidner, who then published it.

The Ballroom Narrative

Owens found the immediate response to the shooting particularly suspicious. Numerous political figures and commentators simultaneously began advocating for Trump to build a White House ballroom. Randy Fine, Andrew Kolvet, and Megyn McCain all tweeted variations of the same message: Trump needs the ballroom, and critics should stop complaining about it.

This coordinated messaging raised questions for Owens. She pointed out that Trump didn't need a ballroom after the Butler shooting, and he regularly hosts events at Mar-a-Lago and the White House without such a facility. The specificity of calling for a White House ballroom seemed oddly targeted and synchronized among people she described as untrustworthy.

Comparing Normal Versus Manufactured Responses

Owens contrasted what she considered normal responses to a shooting with what occurred after the White House Correspondents Dinner incident. Typical reactions would include concern for safety, checking if everyone is okay, and discussing security measures. Instead, the immediate response from multiple figures was to advocate for a ballroom.

She drew a parallel to the Charlie Kirk situation, referencing what she saw as another manufactured moment involving camera placement and crime scene violations. The pattern suggested to Owens that authentic responses were being replaced by coordinated messaging designed to push specific narratives.

Potential Explanations and Cover Stories

Owens speculated about how those involved might explain the situation if proven staged. Possible defenses could include claiming Erika had no knowledge of the staging, suggesting it was done without her consent by overeager PR operatives, or blaming someone like Andrew Kolvet for independently arranging the video without informing Erika.

She also noted the irony of potentially selling grief while simultaneously selling merchandise and hats related to the incident. Owens questioned how far the involved parties would take the narrative if confronted with evidence of staging.

Living in a World of Make-Believe

Owens concluded by suggesting that the incident represented a broader pattern of manufactured reality. She expressed concern that proof of staging would be damaging not just to those directly involved but to what she called the "MAGA movement" (Make Israel Great Again movement), Trump, and his administration.

She questioned how Erika Kirk would navigate another narrative controversy if the staging allegations were proven true. The entire situation, from the initial video to the coordinated responses, felt increasingly desperate to Owens, as if something major was about to be exposed. She suggested that many people were beginning to see through these manufactured moments, and the desperation was becoming more apparent as more scrutiny was applied.

[00:00] If we are able to confirm this that this

[00:02] entire shot was staged,

[00:06] what will they say next? Last week, we

[00:09] put out a bounty. I was not playing

[00:11] around. I said $10,000.

[00:14] $10,000 for more information regarding

[00:17] what? Well, we were interested in that

[00:19] video of Erica Kirk departing the White

[00:21] House correspondence dinner. a dinner in

[00:24] which we, the general public, for some

[00:27] odd reason, we got into trouble for it,

[00:29] right? I don't know why we got grounded,

[00:31] but we got grounded immediately. They

[00:33] were coming out. The messaging was that

[00:35] it was our fault that this happened to

[00:37] Erica. Like, suddenly, we got to watch

[00:39] Erica. We didn't do anything. We were at

[00:42] home. Mo most most of us were eating

[00:44] dinner with our family. Suddenly, we

[00:47] learn via the internet that Erica is in

[00:49] Washington, DC at a press dinner. Before

[00:53] she gets there, she's she's taking

[00:55] bridal shots or something. That was that

[00:57] part was weird. No, nobody's talking

[00:58] about that enough. That was weird.

[00:59] Here's Erica before the White House

[01:01] correspondent dinner.

[01:04] She carries light behind her eyes

[01:08] when the dark

[01:14] and rational people were wondering, "Hey

[01:18] Erica, why are you in why are you inside

[01:21] of the sheer curtains? That's that's a

[01:23] that's a pretty classic bridal shot.

[01:24] What are you doing there? What's

[01:26] happening?" We knew that we were

[01:28] probably off to a bad start. Next thing

[01:30] we know, we're being told that there

[01:33] were shots fired. And then there's

[01:34] another video of Erica that comes out

[01:36] and it's going viral. And she says that

[01:38] she wants to go home. Here it is.

[01:48] >> So we said instantly, yay. Okay, good

[01:52] idea. Not to boast, but that's actually

[01:55] kind of been our idea, right? That's our

[01:56] idea. Erica, go home. was the general

[01:59] public's idea for a very long time and

[02:02] we were being told that that was not

[02:03] acceptable. But we were happy to let her

[02:05] take credit for the idea and just get

[02:06] home. Next thing we know, not only does

[02:09] she steal our idea and say she's going

[02:12] to go home that was our idea, sweetie,

[02:14] then we start getting screamed at on the

[02:16] internet. We don't even know what we did

[02:18] wrong. And so much was happening. I

[02:21] couldn't keep up. It was just like a

[02:23] blackout rage on X of people screaming

[02:25] at us about Erica, right? Graham Allen,

[02:28] of course, resident psycho. He wrote,

[02:30] "You can hear Erica Kirk saying, "I just

[02:33] want to go home. PRAY FOR HER. PRAY FOR

[02:35] HER CHILDREN. HOW MUCH HORROR should one

[02:36] woman have to be exposed to? Absolutely

[02:39] horrific. Like, who exposed her to this

[02:42] dinner?" Then we had Michaela Peterson

[02:44] who has been filigated for her father.

[02:46] She writes, "I don't want to share the

[02:48] video of Erikica Kirk last night, but

[02:49] that is what PTSD looks like.

[02:51] Heartbreaking. The mockery it triggered

[02:53] just strengthens my faith in God. There

[02:55] are times when seeing the good in the

[02:56] world is more difficult, but you can

[02:58] always see the evil. Then we had Ian

[03:01] Miles Chong. We still don't know what

[03:03] he's doing involved at all in American

[03:05] politics. He writes, "All the endless

[03:07] conspiracy theorizing and attacks on

[03:09] Erica Kirk by Candace Owens led to this.

[03:12] It didn't have to be like this. Erica

[03:15] does not deserve this." Like, what? What

[03:19] did I do? I told her to do the opposite

[03:22] of that. I never once said anything

[03:24] about her being inside of sheer

[03:26] curtains. It's crazy. Then this person,

[03:30] Bible in Context, wrote, "Shots fired at

[03:32] the White House Correspondent Center at

[03:34] President Trump and the first lady were

[03:36] rushed off stage. This is what happens

[03:38] when propaganda and lies are spread

[03:40] online by people like Candace Owens and

[03:42] Tucker Carlson. Why do they want Trump

[03:45] dead?"

[03:48] Okay.

[03:50] Again, like I said, very confusing

[03:52] because I specifically remember us

[03:54] telling Erica almost repeatedly to not

[03:57] be the CEO and to go home. Go home. Be

[04:00] with your kids. And the people who were

[04:02] doing the yelling at us were saying the

[04:04] opposite. They were saying, "Let her

[04:07] stay in the public eye. Let her be the

[04:09] CEO. Let her fulfill Charlie's role." So

[04:12] it was like just like upside down world

[04:14] for a second and making matters more

[04:17] confusing was the lecture that we then

[04:20] eventually had to endure from Erica

[04:22] herself

[04:24] like her choice of outfit. There were

[04:26] even some portions of the speech that

[04:28] didn't exactly land like this portion

[04:30] about the wine bottles.

[04:33] It was time to take our seats and we

[04:34] went into the big ballroom where the

[04:36] dinner was. And one of the first things

[04:38] I noticed when I walked into that room

[04:40] was quite literally the proximity of the

[04:43] opposing outlets to one another. So you

[04:45] have one table here that's Politico and

[04:48] another table here that's Fox and

[04:49] another table here that's Wapo and

[04:51] you're all crammed together elbowto

[04:53] elbow. And to make the night even more

[04:55] of a spectacle, every single 10erson

[04:58] table had 10 bottles of wine.

[05:04] I was I was perplexed like what what

[05:06] exactly was up with the wine bottle shot

[05:08] out there. What the even more of a

[05:10] spectacle. There were 10 bottles of wine

[05:12] on every table on the cramp table. What

[05:14] what did the wine bottles do wrong? What

[05:16] did we do wrong? Is anybody going to

[05:17] bother to tell us why she was in that

[05:19] curtain taking a bridal shot?

[05:22] It all felt unfair. I felt like Matilda

[05:24] Wormwood. You know her Matild Matilda

[05:26] Wormwood. She was my favorite. Her

[05:28] parents were awful to her and they

[05:29] always yelled at her for no reason and

[05:31] that is how I felt. I was being yelled

[05:33] at for no reason. Anyway, I don't like

[05:35] being put into timeout for something

[05:37] that I didn't do. Nobody puts baby in

[05:38] the corner without a valid reason. So, I

[05:41] wanted to investigate it. The timing was

[05:42] weird. The shot was weird of her walking

[05:44] out. The footage, the instantaneous

[05:47] verility of the video was weird. It

[05:50] didn't feel real. So, we put out that

[05:53] 10K bounty. We just wanted proof of who

[05:55] recorded it. And lo and behold, we got a

[05:58] couple of very interesting direct tips.

[06:01] People keen to collect the 10K. And

[06:04] here's what we learned. And I'm going to

[06:05] say allegedly here, I have a sense that

[06:08] this first person is telling the truth

[06:10] for a few reasons. One, this person

[06:12] works in politics. Two, this person

[06:14] reached out almost instantly following

[06:16] our show with a very specific story with

[06:19] very specific names, and they offered to

[06:21] sign a sworn affidavit. three, this

[06:24] person gave us the name of who recorded

[06:26] the video. Um, and it is a person who

[06:30] appears to have done some work with

[06:31] Turning Point USA in the past. So, those

[06:34] are the pros. Now, on the con side, this

[06:36] person works in politics, right? Not

[06:39] exactly someone I would describe as a

[06:40] fan of mine. So, there is a chance he or

[06:42] she is therefore making it up to

[06:44] embarrass me. But at the moment that you

[06:47] are transacting, the moment that you're

[06:49] taking money, it's not a gotcha. It's a

[06:51] crime, right? You can't say, "I was just

[06:53] kidding and I got 10K from you." But you

[06:57] never rule it out. All things are

[06:58] possible and this is why we vet our tips

[07:01] uh very seriously. Anyway, here's what

[07:03] we were told. Allegedly following the

[07:07] shooting, a political operative whose

[07:10] name we are going to withhold at this

[07:12] moment until we can confirm it beyond a

[07:13] shadow of a doubt, and we think we will

[07:14] be able to do that imminently.

[07:16] Apparently, this freelancing operative

[07:18] was positioned in advance with the

[07:21] specific instruction to take that exact

[07:24] video at that exact place at that exact

[07:27] time. The operative was allegedly in

[07:29] communication with digital media teams

[07:31] and the entire moment was staged,

[07:34] captured, and then intentionally shared

[07:36] amongst those digital media teams and

[07:39] their operatives whereupon it was made

[07:41] to go viral. Now, that is of course

[07:45] devastating if it is true. There's

[07:49] another person who has a video and has

[07:53] sent evidence. Uh, it's a still of the

[07:55] video. I believe that is factually a

[07:57] still of the video. We checked that.

[07:58] That is not AI. It is definitively an

[08:01] angle that other people have not seen,

[08:03] but they want me to pay a partial

[08:04] portion before they send the full

[08:07] 30-second video. So, that's a gamble. I

[08:10] would say it's a gamble,

[08:13] but it might be one that I'm willing to

[08:15] take. I might be out a couple of

[08:17] thousand dollars.

[08:19] Um, but the reward would be a video of

[08:23] everything to confirm things. All of

[08:26] this to say we are going to get our

[08:28] answer and my every instinct is that the

[08:31] video was staged. I I didn't buy that

[08:34] Sarah Seidner of uh of CNN, who

[08:38] initially put the video online, uh

[08:41] recorded it. She stopped short of saying

[08:43] that she recorded it. She said she was

[08:45] there around when Erica walked out, but

[08:48] I felt that she likely had that video

[08:50] sent to her and then she put it online.

[08:53] So, I will ask this question now in

[08:55] advance before I am turned into publicly

[08:57] public enemy number one. I already am

[08:58] public enemy number one. Well, maybe

[08:59] it's Tucker Carlson.

[09:01] If we are able to confirm this in the

[09:04] coming days that this entire shot was

[09:07] staged

[09:09] and I have a suspicion,

[09:12] I have a hunch.

[09:15] What will they say next?

[09:18] How hard are we going to get gas lit?

[09:19] What What could they say? Well, they

[09:21] could say she didn't know. It was

[09:24] unbeknownst to her. Maybe this was like

[09:28] fast PR. Maybe it was Andrew Kovette.

[09:29] Maybe Andrew Kovette was texting someone

[09:32] and said, "Okay, I got to go get a shot.

[09:34] Erica's about to walk out over here,

[09:35] whatever." And Erica really had no idea.

[09:37] Someone did it without her knowledge or

[09:39] did it without her consent. Someone sold

[09:42] her grief. How terrible would that be?

[09:45] Even though, you know, we had merch

[09:46] sales and hat sales. Felt like that was

[09:48] kind of the whole point of this, selling

[09:49] grief. I just want to know how far are

[09:53] they realistically going to take it.

[09:56] I look at this situation. I look at

[09:58] everything that's happening and I'm I

[10:00] don't think any of us doubt think we're

[10:02] starting to see what's happening. We are

[10:04] living in a world of makebelie.

[10:07] Everything about that White House

[10:09] correspondence shooting made very little

[10:13] sense. Least of all the immediate

[10:16] reaction

[10:17] uh from the very same people, I should

[10:20] add, who were lecturing us about Erica

[10:22] for our our apparent failure to keep her

[10:25] safe. this. They all got together and

[10:28] said the same thing. This is why Trump

[10:30] needs a ballroom. They all instantly

[10:32] said, look at the amount of counts

[10:34] accounts saying this. Just look across

[10:36] the board at the people who are saying

[10:38] this. Randy fine, right? Whatever he

[10:42] says needs to happen, the opposite thing

[10:44] needs to happen. He says we'd better

[10:46] never again hear a peep from anyone

[10:48] complaining about a White House

[10:50] ballroom. Huh? The shooting made you

[10:52] think about a ballroom. Randy Fine,

[10:54] Andrew Kovette.

[10:57] This is why the president needs to build

[11:00] the White House ballroom.

[11:03] Everyone that I don't trust. Megan

[11:05] McCain in the mix.

[11:08] I don't want to hear one more thing

[11:10] about Trump's new ballroom at the White

[11:13] House. No. Every He needs the ballroom.

[11:16] All of these people just at the same

[11:19] time thought the same thing and tweeted

[11:20] out that Trump obviously when you saw

[11:22] they saw he needs the ballroom. A

[11:23] ballroom that never existed. For some

[11:25] reason he didn't he didn't need a

[11:26] ballroom when the shooting happened in

[11:27] Butler. Uh he didn't need a ballroom

[11:31] under any other occasion. Are we

[11:32] pretending that Trump doesn't have

[11:33] events all the time? Like literally all

[11:35] events all the time at Mara Lago. Uh why

[11:38] does he specifically need a ballroom at

[11:40] the White House in order for him to have

[11:42] an event? That's that's like oddly

[11:45] specific.

[11:47] Doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Trump

[11:49] has events at the White House, by the

[11:50] way. He had an event shortly thereafter

[11:52] at the White. Why does he specifically

[11:54] need this ballroom?

[11:56] And and why are we pretending like that

[11:58] doesn't feel like like it's weird that

[12:01] people believe that what happened was

[12:03] staged on the basis of how these people

[12:04] responded, right? What are we supposed

[12:06] to believe? A a shooting happens and

[12:08] what? Quick, what's your first thought?

[12:10] Well, once upon a time, it used to be

[12:12] get down. Someone call 911. Is everyone

[12:15] okay? Oh, thank goodness nobody is hurt.

[12:18] Wow. We need to talk about security.

[12:22] But in this like new world of make

[12:24] believe, which we seem to have stepped

[12:26] fully into since Charlie Cro

[12:27] assassination, they want us to believe

[12:29] the normal thing is this is why Trump

[12:31] needs a ballroom. Quick, Terl, get the

[12:34] camera behind Charlie's head ASAP and

[12:36] use the chair that he just died in to do

[12:38] it. Violate the crime scene. get the

[12:42] ballroom. Everything is now feeling

[12:44] elucory. And it also kind of feels like

[12:48] we're running into this moment like

[12:50] something is about to explode. They're

[12:52] becoming increasingly desperate because

[12:54] all of us have sort of had the skills

[12:56] removed from our eyes. And I will say

[12:59] that if and it seems likely if we are

[13:02] able to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt

[13:03] that that moment was staged is really

[13:07] not going to be good for the MIGA

[13:10] movement. the make Israel great again

[13:12] movement, Trump, everything his

[13:14] administration has become. Um, I just

[13:17] think it's going to be really, really

[13:19] bad. And I don't see how they're going

[13:22] to be able to wiggle Erica Kirk out of

[13:24] another one of these narratives.
