Charlie Kirk and Glenn Beck on Trump's Victory, Rush Limbaugh's Legacy, and Bold Personnel Picks for the Second Term

November 9, 2024

Charlie Kirk and Glenn Beck reflect on Trump's victory and the fulfillment of Rush Limbaugh's prophetic words about never surrendering. Beck calls Trump's campaign execution a miracle, crediting divine intervention, the candidate's focus after the assassination attempt, and Lara Trump's transformation of the GOP. They discuss how the COVID-19 era served as a slow-motion awakening that exposed institutional lies, broke mainstream media's stranglehold, and elevated long-form podcasting as the new battleground for truth. Beck warns against establishment picks like Jamie Dimon and offers a detailed roadmap for Trump's first 100 days, including massive deregulation, potential abolition of the IRS and income tax, cleaning house at the Pentagon, and empowering figures like Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, Tulsi Gabbard, and RFK Jr. to dismantle the administrative state.

Rush Limbaugh's Prophetic Words

Charlie Kirk opened the conversation by playing one of Rush Limbaugh's final broadcasts, where the legendary host declared: "We are not sunk yet. We will never surrender. We will never give up. Never, never, never. It's not who we are. It's not what we do. We never give up." Kirk reminded listeners that those words came at a seemingly dark moment when Joe Biden and the Democrats controlled everything. Now, the political landscape has transformed dramatically.

Glenn Beck responded emotionally to hearing Rush's voice, acknowledging the stark contrast between that moment of apparent defeat and the current sense of possibility and momentum on the right.

Calling Trump's Campaign a Miracle

Beck, known for his typically pessimistic outlook, admitted he had previously told Kirk's audience he could think of a million ways things could go wrong but only one way to survive: through divine intervention. He believes that miracle arrived in multiple forms, beginning with Trump surviving an assassination attempt.

"I think that was like a purifying moment for him," Beck said. "I think he had gone through so much fire, but I think it all just distilled at that moment." He praised Trump as being as good or better than Ronald Reagan, noting he was "on target all the time" and functioned as a "happy warrior" who pulled off things nobody else could have accomplished.

Beck credited Trump's team, including Kirk and Turning Point USA, and especially highlighted Lara Trump's work at the RNC. "The first time I've ever felt good about the GOP was this time," Beck said, explaining that the Republican Party typically "can't get themselves out of a wet paper bag." This time, he had full confidence that when issues arose, the GOP was already on it, often already in court addressing problems before they escalated.

The American People Passed the Test

Kirk framed the election as a critical test of whether the American population could resist "ferocious non-stop propaganda in a 90-day period." The American people passed that test, demonstrating a newfound skepticism toward institutional narratives and corporate media.

Beck agreed but refined the framing, suggesting COVID-19 functioned less like Pearl Harbor or 9/11—single catastrophic events that changed everything instantly—and more like a "Pearl Harbor in slow motion." The pandemic and the institutional response to it represented a gradual awakening rather than a sudden shock.

COVID as a Slow-Motion Awakening

Beck explained that the COVID era began waking up influential figures on the left, including people like Bret Weinstein and others who started questioning the narrative. These were "icons on the other side" who began saying, "Wait a minute, I don't think I'm with them, but I'm not with the Democrats. This is not freedom."

Over time, everything that alternative media figures had been saying proved correct: the virus started in a lab in Wuhan, the U.S. government was involved, Dr. Anthony Fauci was making money, pharmaceutical companies were coordinating with government, and social media was being weaponized to silence dissent. "All of that came undone," Beck said. "That's the Pearl Harbor moment if you could put it all together."

As more narratives unraveled across multiple issues, people began realizing "they're lying to us all the time." Beck expressed sympathy for those still believing the propaganda, saying that when they finally wake up, "they're going to be very pissed at the media and the left."

The Death of Mainstream Media

Beck identified Trump's appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience as a watershed moment that signaled the end of mainstream media's dominance. He had predicted before the interview that if Trump went on Rogan and performed well, reaching perhaps 100 million people, it would fundamentally change political communication.

"Every politician will say after this, 'Why would I go do a debate on ABC or CBS that gets maybe 15, 20 million people and it's all set up, it's not real, when I could go on Joe Rogan and spend three hours, he'll ask me honest questions, I can be myself, and let the people judge for themselves who I am?'" Beck said. "It's over. The mainstream media is over."

Kirk played a clip of Joy Reid identifying this new media ecosystem, mentioning Elon Musk, Charlie Kirk, Turning Point USA, and Joe Rogan as central to Trump's victory. Reid characterized it as a "disinformation" operation, prompting Kirk to note that lies don't survive in long-form podcasting because they get cross-examined and the truth gets flushed out.

Why Long-Form Conversation Wins

Beck explained that long-form conversation is "the only way" and that's precisely why the establishment wants to stop people from talking to each other. He noted the cultural push to stop talking to family members who disagree and the systematic silencing of dissenting voices.

Beck recounted his own journey from mainstream media, where he was told to go online because he had "no place here." He started The Blaze and became the first major figure to successfully move a massive audience to independent media. The establishment initially thought they could control the online space by relegating "crazy people" there, but they underestimated how quickly independent creators would surpass legacy media in quality and reach.

"When they force us to do these things, we get better than they are quickly, and then they're like, 'Oh wait, wait, that's a problem,'" Beck observed. He noted that this pattern repeats across domains—from get-out-the-vote operations to media to technology.

The Coming Transformation and Big Tech's Power

Beck warned that "everything is about to change" due to artificial intelligence and quantum computing, not just because of Trump's election. He stressed that if the country has leadership that understands freedom and believes people should be in charge rather than elites, there's a chance of "withstanding the AI that is coming."

He called on Trump to bring big corporations like Google to heel for "influencing people without knowing that they're being influenced," referencing alleged manipulation around election day. Beck also urged Trump to repeal a Barack Obama executive order that allows intelligence agencies to use propaganda on American citizens—a development that received almost no press coverage when implemented.

Bold Personnel and Policy Recommendations

In an extended uninterrupted segment, Beck laid out a comprehensive vision for Trump's second term:

Treasury and Federal Reserve

Beck strongly opposed appointing Jamie Dimon as Treasury Secretary or Fed chair, calling him "not a friend." Instead, he recommended Vivek Ramaswamy for Treasury Secretary precisely because "he's not part of that system." Beck's ultimate preference: "Fight the Fed. Close the Fed would be even better."

Pentagon and Defense

Beck called for cleaning out the top levels of the Pentagon, arguing that all the generals at the top "came through the ranks because they're political players." He suggested Tulsi Gabbard for cleaning house, noting she doesn't have to be Secretary of Defense but could effectively root out political operators. The litmus test is simple: "Look for the people who want to fight to win and those who want to play politics. Anybody who wants to play politics, get them out."

Government Efficiency and Regulation

Beck recommended giving Elon Musk a copy of the federal budget immediately and having him identify cuts. Musk should also play a role in deep cuts to federal regulations. Beck hopes Trump will double his first-term regulatory cuts, emphasizing that the fastest way to "juice the economy" is through massive deregulation.

IRS and Tax Reform

Beck called for firing all 80,000 new IRS agents and expressed openness to abolishing the 16th Amendment and eliminating income tax entirely if the numbers work. If income tax must remain, he argued for a maximum rate of 15%, not the current 21% or proposed 25%.

He pointed to President Calvin Coolidge as a model, noting that Coolidge cut income tax by 50% and cut regulation and spending by 50% in his first year, then did it again in the second year with another 50% reduction, creating the "Roaring Twenties." "He should be looking at the Coolidge kind of cuts in both taxes and spending and regulation," Beck said. "Just take a hatchet to it because that will bring the economy roaring back."

Senate Leadership

Beck endorsed the Mike Lee plan of making JD Vance head of the Senate, with Tim Scott as an acceptable alternative. He characterized the other candidates as "an absolute nightmare."

Department of Education

Beck wants Trump to follow through on shutting down the Department of Education entirely, along with several other federal departments.

RFK Jr. and Health

Beck praised the idea of RFK Jr. leading efforts to "make America healthy again" but with a caveat. "I wouldn't put him in charge," Beck clarified. "I would have him have a real effect on suggestions." The reason: "I'm not sure he's right on everything." However, Beck said RFK Jr. is "100% right" when it comes to Big Pharma and the FDA, calling the FDA "worthless."

The Two-Year Window

Beck emphasized the urgency of action, noting that the 2026 midterms will likely favor Democrats regardless of what Republicans accomplish. Trump has approximately two solid years to implement his agenda before potential gridlock returns.

Beck drew a parallel to Ronald Reagan, noting that Reagan's policies didn't show their full positive effects until 1983-84. Trump may not have the "best story to tell in two years" unless he accomplishes everything in his first 100 days and can demonstrate immediate economic results through deregulation and tax cuts.

The window is narrow, the stakes are high, and the opportunity is historic. Beck's message was clear: Trump must move fast, think big, avoid establishment traps, and surround himself with people committed to dismantling rather than managing the administrative state.

[00:00] Glenn uh welcome to the program uh we

[00:02] did it Glenn and you played a huge role

[00:04] as we persevered I want to play a piece

[00:06] of tape though Glenn uh that I think you

[00:08] will appreciate um which is of our

[00:11] mutual uh now passed away friend Rush

[00:14] limbo and this is one of the last things

[00:16] he ever said let's play Cut 328 yeah we

[00:20] are not sunk yet we will never surrender

[00:23] we will never give up never never never

[00:27] it's not who we are it's not what we do

[00:29] we never give

[00:33] up now let's remember everybody that was

[00:35] right before rush passed away I do too

[00:38] but remember how dark things seemed then

[00:40] Joe Biden and the Democrats controlled

[00:42] everything and now let's just enjoy how

[00:45] we feel today Glenn welcome to the

[00:46] program what are your thoughts thank

[00:49] you um I feel you know Charlie you've

[00:53] watched me and listen to me long enough

[00:54] to know and we know each other I'm not

[00:57] usually a ray of sunshine uh

[01:00] uh and I think I was on your show last

[01:02] time I was on your show I said I can

[01:04] think of a million ways this goes wrong

[01:07] but I can only think of one way that we

[01:09] survive this that we come out and we're

[01:12] together and that's God we need a

[01:14] miracle and I think we have a miracle

[01:17] and um that Miracle came in many forms

[01:20] first of all the saving of Donald Trump

[01:24] um but also the I think that was like a

[01:27] purifying moment for him I think he had

[01:29] gone through so much fire but I think it

[01:32] all just distilled at that moment and

[01:35] the way he the way he came together he

[01:39] was the perfect candidate I I think he

[01:42] was uh as good if not better than Ronald

[01:46] Reagan um he was uh On Target all the

[01:50] time he was a happy warrior um he pulled

[01:54] things off that nobody else could have

[01:56] pulled off um he was very very f focused

[02:00] on what he needed to do he put a

[02:03] fantastic team including you and your

[02:06] team around him uh Lura Trump was a

[02:10] miracle the first time I've ever felt

[02:12] good about the GOP was this time they

[02:15] they can't get themselves out of a wet

[02:17] paper bag um and this time I mean I had

[02:22] full confidence in them and um you know

[02:25] I called right away and Laura would be

[02:27] like we're on it we got it we got it

[02:30] every time so when election day came for

[02:32] the first time in my

[02:34] life uh I could say with confidence to

[02:37] my my audience just call your local GOP

[02:40] they're probably already in court with

[02:42] this uh but just let them know in case

[02:45] they don't know um I mean it was just a

[02:48] series

[02:50] of perfect timing uh and uh perfect

[02:55] execution it it was amazing amazing

[03:00] and and and we just must appreciate how

[03:02] the American people made the right

[03:03] decision Glenn we when you were on the

[03:05] program last we said this would be a

[03:06] question on can the American people

[03:08] resist ferocious non-stop propaganda in

[03:11] a 90day period and we passed the test

[03:14] yeah was Co a was Co a metaphorical

[03:18] Pearl Harbor moment where people will

[03:21] then look at the world differently after

[03:24] that in the sense where they're not

[03:26] going to take propaganda at the same

[03:28] weight it's going to change their

[03:29] Viewpoint completely there there is

[03:32] there is no going back to how things

[03:34] were do we have a population that is

[03:36] more skeptical of corporate power that

[03:38] is more yeah please your thoughts

[03:40] oh yes okay so here's the thing Charlie

[03:43] first of all I wouldn't put it in the

[03:44] category of Pearl Harbor or 911 because

[03:47] that was one event that happened one day

[03:50] and it changed everything Fair um this

[03:53] was a slow drip so maybe a 911 or Pearl

[03:57] Harbor in slow motion um it it started

[04:01] out slow but it it woke enough people up

[04:05] not the entire nation but it woke enough

[04:08] people up that were influencers for the

[04:11] other side I look at the Weinstein and

[04:14] and people like that uh Lindsay um

[04:18] people that were were really icons on

[04:22] the other side um that started to go

[04:25] wait a minute I I don't think I'm with

[04:27] them but I'm not with the Democrats that

[04:31] this is lie the this is not Freedom um

[04:34] and that's what I think was the

[04:36] beginning of breaking everything apart

[04:39] these people that were standing up and

[04:41] the average person saying this is wrong

[04:44] um I can't live this way and that just

[04:47] slowly spreading and then when you look

[04:50] at this now a few years later and you

[04:52] see everything that we said everything

[04:56] that we said was right it did start in a

[05:00] lab in Wuhan we were involved uh fouchy

[05:04] was making money um they were in bed

[05:06] with a pharmaceutical companies they

[05:08] were they were um working with social

[05:11] media to silence people all of that came

[05:15] uh came undone and that's the Pearl

[05:18] Harbor moment if you could put it all

[05:20] together that's the Pearl Harbor moment

[05:22] and then on top of it it started to

[05:25] trickle down onto everything things were

[05:28] moving so fast we had had enough time to

[05:32] check on all of the stories and see wait

[05:34] a minute you told us that that would

[05:36] happened and we were conspiracy theories

[05:39] because we said it was the other way and

[05:40] that was wrong this is wrong this is

[05:42] wrong and people just started to realize

[05:45] they're lying to us all the time now

[05:47] again not the entire I feel bad for the

[05:50] people that really truly believe that

[05:54] Donald Trump is a Nazi that women are

[05:56] going to be you know their heads are

[05:57] going to be on a pike or whatever

[05:59] they're saying today um I feel sorry for

[06:02] those people who have been so grossly

[06:04] misled they're when they wake up they're

[06:06] going to be very pissed uh at the media

[06:09] and the left but the best thing that

[06:12] came out of this and about a week before

[06:14] he was on Joe Rogan maybe a couple of

[06:16] weeks because he hadn't agreed yet and

[06:19] they were saying that maybe he's going

[06:21] to be on Joe Rogan and I said please let

[06:23] that happen because that will be the end

[06:27] of the mainstream media because he'll go

[06:30] on Joe Rogan and he'll get you know a

[06:32] 100 million people to watch and it will

[06:36] affect the election because he'll

[06:38] perform well and every politician will

[06:42] say after this why would I go do a

[06:45] debate on ABC or CBS that gets maybe 15

[06:50] 20 million people and it's all set up

[06:54] it's not real when I could go on Joe

[06:57] Rogan and spend three hours he'll ask me

[07:00] honest questions I can be myself and let

[07:04] the people judge for themselves who I am

[07:06] it's over the mainstream media is

[07:10] over this is this is exactly right I

[07:13] want to play Joy Reed who identifies The

[07:16] Joe Rogan Experience element here let's

[07:19] play Cut

[07:21] 330 did exist was a massive media

[07:23] ecosystem pumping Into the Heart of Maga

[07:27] run by the internet Bros Elon Musk and

[07:29] Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA which

[07:32] this year handled much of the get out

[07:34] the vote operations for Trump's campaign

[07:36] only for Trump to close it out with

[07:38] celebrity podcast host Joe Rogan in what

[07:41] would become Rogan's most watched

[07:43] episodes in more than a decade but

[07:46] behind the curtain is disinformation

[07:48] King Elon Musk who helped to elect Trump

[07:51] and enrich himself by using X Twitter oh

[07:55] my God to um out to do push out his

[07:58] preferred candidate frequently with

[08:01] misinformation I

[08:03] Jo I I just I I I glad I want to let you

[08:06] loose on this but just comment deeper

[08:08] though lies do not stand in long form

[08:12] podcasting because they get

[08:13] cross-examined it gets flushed out when

[08:16] we're in the pursuit of truth that

[08:19] format benefits us

[08:23] glenbeck so it not only benefits us it

[08:26] is the um it is the only way it's why

[08:30] they want to stop us from talking to

[08:31] each other it's why they've encouraged

[08:33] us to stop talking to our family uh it's

[08:36] why they they've done their best to

[08:38] silence people on the other side it's so

[08:40] funny because you know I was in the

[08:42] mainstream media and hated every second

[08:45] of it um and they they said you know you

[08:48] just got to go online or something

[08:50] because you have no place here in the

[08:52] mainstream media and I'm like okay

[08:54] that's fine so I started the blaze did

[08:56] my own thing the first guy to come out

[08:59] and

[09:00] and try to move a a massive audience

[09:03] over and when we did it and it was

[09:05] successful then they realized oh crap

[09:09] and then everybody else started doing it

[09:11] I mean look at the power of the uh

[09:14] podcast it was coming anyway um they and

[09:19] they just thought we'll we'll put all of

[09:21] these crazy people online because they

[09:24] thought they could control it at the

[09:26] time but as as we're seeing in almost

[09:30] everything we don't necessarily do these

[09:33] things because we're busy doing our life

[09:35] we're not you know look at

[09:37] you who has ever on our side done a get

[09:41] out the vote campaign like you have done

[09:44] only the Democrats but when they force

[09:47] us to do these things we get better than

[09:49] they are quickly and then they then

[09:52] they're like oh wa wait wait that's a

[09:54] problem and then they have to shut you

[09:56] down you know

[09:59] the same old record over and over again

[10:03] what they don't understand is everything

[10:06] is about to change and that's not just

[10:09] because of Donald Trump that's because

[10:11] of AI uh Quantum uh

[10:15] Computing uh everything the Life as we

[10:18] know it is going to change and if we

[10:22] have somebody who understands freedom

[10:26] and understands that people are in

[10:28] charge not the elites we have a chance

[10:32] of withstanding the AI that is coming

[10:35] but Donald Trump and he knows this has

[10:37] got to get in and take those big

[10:40] corporations uh and bring them to heal

[10:45] on um doing things like Google did on

[10:48] the the day of the election this um uh

[10:52] this this influencing people without

[10:55] knowing that they're being influenced

[10:57] you know one thing I haven't heard uh

[10:58] from Donald Trump yet and I really am

[11:01] anxious to ask him um is will you

[11:05] repeal the executive order that that

[11:09] Barack Obama put in that allows our spy

[11:13] agencies to use propaganda on our own

[11:16] people and our own citizens here in

[11:18] America that got no press when Barack

[11:21] Obama did it it's got to stop all right

[11:25] Glenn we got five minutes you can do an

[11:27] uninterrupted ideas personnel creative

[11:29] things the floor is

[11:32] yours okay just just off the top of my

[11:35] head here I wasn't really prepared for

[11:36] this uh do not put Jamie Diamond in as

[11:40] the treasury secretary or the head of

[11:42] the FED um you know fight the Fed close

[11:46] the FED would be even better but fight

[11:49] the FED on things um put uh V uh Rama

[11:53] Swami as maybe the treasury secretary

[11:55] he's not part of that system um I'm

[11:58] afraid of another Jamie Diamond getting

[11:59] in there who would be um you know he's

[12:03] he's he's not a friend he's not a friend

[12:05] um we need to clean out the top level of

[12:08] the Pentagon all of those generals up at

[12:11] the top they're they all came through

[12:13] the ranks because they're political

[12:15] players put somebody like tulsey gabard

[12:17] in charge of cleaning house there she

[12:21] doesn't have to be the Secretary of

[12:22] Defense although she wouldn't

[12:23] necessarily make a bad one but um

[12:26] somebody that um can come after it and

[12:29] is not a big conservative and everything

[12:32] else this one is easy all you have to do

[12:35] is look for the people who want to fight

[12:37] to win and those who want to play

[12:39] politics anybody to play politics get

[12:41] them out um Elon should be on the cuts

[12:46] right now he should have a copy of the

[12:47] budget right now and he should be

[12:49] looking at that um uh and musk should

[12:52] also be play some role with the um uh

[12:57] with the Deep Cuts in regulation as well

[13:00] I I hope Donald Trump just takes like he

[13:02] did last time I'd like to see it double

[13:05] just cut the regulations he has remember

[13:08] we have an election in 2026 it's going

[13:11] to favor the Democrats no matter what we

[13:13] do um and it's going to be hard to keep

[13:16] the Senate and everything else so he

[13:17] really has two solid years but remember

[13:21] Ronald Reagan when he started this it

[13:23] wasn't really until

[13:24] 8384 where everything really started to

[13:27] show up and be good

[13:29] uh so he may not have you know the best

[13:32] story to tell in two years unless he

[13:35] gets everything done in his first 100

[13:37] days and he can juice the economy the

[13:40] way to juice the economy is to cut

[13:43] regulation um cut all of this crap that

[13:46] everybody has to go through he should

[13:48] fire all those 80,000 IRS agents he

[13:52] should I am

[13:54] actually I I am I am actually willing to

[13:58] listen

[13:59] and probably could support if he could

[14:02] make the numbers work on going back to

[14:05] the way we were abolishing the 16th

[14:07] Amendment uh getting rid of income tax

[14:10] if he can't get rid of the income tax

[14:12] then he should make it so low remember

[14:15] um coolage cut our income tax by 50% and

[14:19] cut the regulation and all of the

[14:22] spending by 50% in the first year the

[14:25] second year he came in and did it again

[14:27] cut it by another 50% % and that gave us

[14:30] the Roaring 20s he should be looking at

[14:33] the coolage kind of cuts in both taxes

[14:37] and uh in spending and regulation like

[14:40] kulage did just take a hatchet to it

[14:43] because that will bring the economy

[14:46] roaring back we don't need a a 25 or a

[14:51] 21% uh income tax rate we need at the

[14:55] most a

[14:56] 15% uh income tax rate I I again am for

[15:00] abolishing it but if the numbers would

[15:03] work um let's see we talked about this

[15:06] earlier today um I'm for the Mike Lee

[15:09] plan of JD Vance being the head of the

[15:11] Senate uh th couldn't be uh you know if

[15:15] he won't go with Tim Scott then it it it

[15:17] should be uh JD Vance because those

[15:20] other two would be an absolute nightmare

[15:23] uh I really took him at his word when he

[15:25] said we'll shut down the do the uh

[15:27] Department of Ed I I'd like to see that

[15:30] and a few others RFK being in charge of

[15:34] RFK being in charge of making America

[15:36] healthy again I think this is brilliant

[15:39] I wouldn't put him in charge I would

[15:42] have him you know have a real effect on

[15:46] suggestions the only reason why I say

[15:48] don't put him in charge is I'm not sure

[15:51] he's right on everything but when it

[15:54] comes to Big Pharma when it comes to all

[15:56] of that when it comes to the FDA he

[15:59] 100% right FDA is worthless
