Tulsi Gabbard on Charlie Kirk's Political Realignment and Character

Tulsi Gabbard's political journey, from Democratic congresswoman to a prominent Trump-administration figure, became one of the examples Charlie Kirk pointed to most often as evidence of a broader political realignment underway, citing her and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s endorsements of Trump as proof the fight had stopped being a clean left-right split and become something closer to an establishment-versus-outsider one. Kirk treated her defection less as a single celebrity endorsement than as a data point in an argument he made repeatedly, that traditional party coalitions were dissolving faster than most political coverage acknowledged.
Gabbard, speaking at his Kennedy Center memorial, offered the most specific firsthand account of what she'd actually witnessed traveling with him to campus events: watching him instruct the first people in line, who were there specifically to praise him, to step aside so people who disagreed could go first instead. She described that habit as the clearest evidence of what made him different from other political figures she'd known, someone who treated a hostile question as more valuable than an easy compliment, and framed his commitment to defending constitutional freedoms as continuous with, not separate from, the faith she said drove nearly everything else he did.
