Charlie Kirk Celebrates Georgia Election Integrity Victory After Brian Kemp Signs Voter Roll Cleanup Law

Charlie Kirk shares what he calls a major win for election integrity in Georgia. Governor Brian Kemp signed SB89 into law, a measure allowing the state to clean voter rolls by removing ineligible voters based on death records, out-of-state residency, or non-residential addresses. Kirk credits Georgia patriots and legislators who pushed the bill forward, while noting that Stacey Abrams' Fair Fight Action and the ACLU Georgia have condemned the law as voter suppression. Kirk argues the measure protects against mass mail-in ballot abuse and could remove over 100,000 potentially fraudulent voters, significantly improving election security in the battleground state.

Georgia Passes Major Election Integrity Legislation

Charlie Kirk announces what he considers significant progress on election integrity in the must-win state of Georgia. Kirk addresses a question he receives almost daily about whether states are making meaningful changes to secure elections. While his typical answer is "not enough," Georgia stands out as an exception. The state has made important changes, with the most recent being what Kirk describes as a terrific victory.

Governor Brian Kemp signed SB89 into law, a voter integrity measure designed to clean up dirty voter rolls in the state. Kirk gives credit to both Kemp for signing the legislation and the patriots in the Georgia House and Senate who pushed the measure forward.

What SB89 Actually Does

The new law defines probable cause for removing voters from the rolls when their eligibility is challenged. The list of challenges that can trigger removal includes:

  • Death
  • Evidence of voting or registering in another jurisdiction
  • A tax exemption indicating a primary residence elsewhere
  • A non-residential address

The law also allows the national change of address list to be considered when cleaning the rolls. Under the Georgia bill, voters can be removed from the rolls up until 40 days ahead of the election.

Democratic Opposition and Claims of Voter Suppression

The left has already condemned the new law as voter suppression, which Kirk suggests is evidence of a significant win. Stacey Abrams and her allies are upset and worried because, according to Kirk, this law will prevent Georgia from becoming a Democrat state.

Fair Fight Action, a voting rights group founded by Stacey Abrams, slammed the signing of SB89, calling the measure a voter suppression bill that emboldens right-wing activists in their efforts to kick black and brown voters off the rolls. Abrams stated that by signing SB89 into law, Brian Kemp delivered a gift to MAGA election deniers.

Andrea Young, executive director of the ACLU Georgia, called the bill a step back for voters' rights and voting access. Critics are calling the legislation Jim Crow 2.0.

Kirk's Defense of the Law

Kirk strongly disagrees with these characterizations, arguing that the law is about ensuring that mass mail-in ballots, which he describes as a scheme designed by Democrats, isn't used and abused to stuff ballot boxes by activist groups with millions in Democrat dark money.

Republicans now have the ability to remove over 100,000 potentially fraudulent or illegal voters in the state of Georgia. Kirk anticipates that Mark Elias is probably already preparing a legal challenge, but believes the law is written correctly and will withstand scrutiny.

Kirk's Assessment and Credit

While Kirk acknowledges this is not a comprehensive solution, he sees it as a step in the right direction. As a vocal critic of Brian Kemp on many issues, Kirk gives credit where he believes it's due. He thanks Kemp for signing the bill rather than filibustering, pocket vetoing, or vetoing it.

However, Kirk reserves his greatest appreciation for the patriots of Georgia in the grassroots movement who have been pushing for this change, along with the members of the Georgia legislature who persisted in making it happen. He emphasizes that these activists deserve the real credit for demanding this legislation.

Kirk concludes by emphasizing a key principle: if states are going to have mass mail-in ballots, they need to have clean voting rolls. He believes this will dramatically improve Donald Trump's chances of winning Georgia and therefore potentially winning back the presidency.
