Investigators in Utah have uncovered a shocking confession in the Charlie Kirk assassination case. George Zinn, the man initially believed to be Charlie Kirk's assassin, has admitted to deliberately misleading authorities to help the real shooter escape.

The Deception Unfolds

According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, George Zinn attended the event where Charlie Kirk was assassinated. After the gunshot was fired, Zinn screamed that he had shot Charlie Kirk, drawing immediate attention to himself. Viral videos captured the moment as Zinn was quickly taken into custody by authorities.

When brought to the University Police Department, Zinn allegedly refused to speak with investigators. He was later transported to the hospital for some type of medical emergency. It was there that Utah officials say Zinn confessed that he did not shoot Kirk, but that he wanted to hinder the investigation and allow the real shooter time to get away.

Additional Charges Revealed

Zinn now faces multiple serious charges. In addition to obstruction charges related to the assassination investigation, he also faces charges for possession of child sexual abuse material. Investigators say they found disturbing images involving children on his phone.

Investigation Continues

The Utah Department of Public Safety says there is no evidence that Zinn worked with the shooter in any way, but the investigation is still ongoing. On the day of the assassination, two people were detained as potential suspects and then released. However, George Zinn was subsequently taken back into custody, where he now faces several charges.
