Harvey Levin Defends Anthony Fauci While Celebrities Face Legal and Financial Troubles

Harvey Levin's emotional defense of Anthony Fauci during congressional hearings sparks controversy as the TMZ founder compares accountability measures to McCarthyism. Meanwhile, Prince Harry faces mounting legal costs exceeding millions of pounds in failed privacy claims against the Daily Mail, adding to revelations that Canadian taxpayers spent over $500,000 protecting him during visits. The WNBA also finds itself in hot water after a Seattle Storm co-owner was caught on camera berating fans wearing shirts supporting biological women in sports, leading to an official apology from the organization.

Harvey Levin's Defense of Anthony Fauci Draws Criticism

Despite mounting evidence and widespread criticism, celebrities continue to defend Anthony Fauci following his congressional testimony. Leftist TV host Andy Cohen took to X to write: "The country is an absolute dumpster fire. A war with no plan, skyrocketing prices, a deeply unpopular, demented president. So, let's go after Fauci. What an absolute joke."

However, the most notable defense came from TMZ founder Harvey Levin, who used TMZ's official account—which has significantly more followers than his personal account—to share his thoughts on the proceedings.

"Watching Anthony Fauci before a congressional hearing taking the Fifth Amendment is just one of the most heartbreaking things I have seen in government in my lifetime," Levin stated, expressing sympathy not for the American people seeking accountability, but for Fauci himself.

Levin went further, comparing the hearings to McCarthyism: "We are in a Senator Joseph McCarthy climate where there is such fear that people have." He accused Senator Rand Paul of having a political agenda and called the ejection of one of Fauci's attorneys from the hearing "unbelievable," declaring "We are in a dark period of America."

Critics were quick to point out the hypocrisy, noting that Levin remained silent during what they characterize as genuine McCarthyism during the Obama and Biden administrations, when Trump associates faced politically motivated charges and conservatives experienced blacklisting in Hollywood.

Expert Analysis on Fauci Hearings

Kinsey Schofield, host of the Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered podcast, offered her perspective on Levin's defense: "Was Levin watching the same hearing that we were watching? It felt entirely upside down. Rand Paul is one of the most moral, cleanest, non-problematic politicians in my lifetime. The fact that he would go after Rand Paul absolutely blows my mind."

Schofield emphasized the importance of transparency: "The newly released diary entries raise serious questions about Fauci's priorities and public image. Americans do deserve transparency from public officials. And when you're called before Congress and repeatedly invoke the Fifth Amendment, people are naturally going to ask what you're trying to hide."

She suggested Levin was "relying on the ignorance of his audience" by presenting a narrative without expecting viewers to watch the actual footage themselves. The message reached tens of millions across TMZ's social media platforms.

WNBA Incident Sparks Controversy Over Women's Sports

The WNBA found itself embroiled in controversy after a co-owner of the Seattle Storm was filmed berating two young fans wearing "XX/XY" shirts. The shirts showed support for women's sports and Sophie Cunningham, who has taken a stand for protecting women's sports from male participation.

In the footage, the co-owner can be heard saying "You leave my dog alone. Go. Security," as she confronted the fans wearing the biological reality statement shirts.

The Seattle Storm issued a statement to Fox News: "We are aware one of our co-owners made comments to two fans in attendance at last night's game. We apologize that this happened. Everyone who attends a Storm game deserves to feel welcome and we remain committed to creating an inclusive environment where every fan is treated with respect."

Schofield commented on the incident: "The irony is remarkable. The people preaching tolerance often seem the least tolerant when somebody disagrees with them. I've become a huge Sophie Cunningham fan in 2025. She has strong moral courage, defends her friends and females in general. She's willing to say what so many female athletes are afraid to say out loud. Women's sports deserve to remain women's sports."

She added: "If we're serious about inclusion, that has to include people with different opinions, too. This is an 80/20 issue, perhaps even a 90/10 issue when it comes to male bodies being allowed to compete in women's sport. This is not some 50/50 issue where the public is divided down the middle."

Prince Harry's Mounting Legal and Security Costs

Prince Harry faces significant financial pressure as he and other celebrities are being pursued for legal costs following their failed privacy claims against the Daily Mail. While other celebrities have legal insurance covering £16.2 million, the group is being asked to pay around £34.5 million in legal costs.

Schofield didn't hold back in her assessment: "I wonder if he's going to have to flip some burgers or join OnlyFans. I'm concerned for him based on these numbers, but he's built a reputation for litigating first and asking questions later. Lawsuits aren't just expensive for defendants, they're expensive for the plaintiffs when they lose. If Meghan Markle isn't thrilled today, I wouldn't blame her. That's a painful financial headline for any household."

Canadian Taxpayers Fund Prince Harry's Security

Adding to the financial scrutiny, revelations show that Canadian taxpayers spent more than $500,000 protecting Prince Harry over five years during his visits to Canada—more than any other internationally protected person over the same period.

"Absolutely not," Schofield responded when asked if the money was well spent. "More than half a million dollars in taxpayer-funded security for Prince Harry. That's a tough sell during a cost of living crisis. He voluntarily left royal duties, but taxpayers are still being asked to foot enormous security bills for this guy. Canadians are entitled to ask why."

She continued: "Harry chose a different life. That's his right. But taxpayers shouldn't be expected to subsidize every consequence of that choice. Didn't he sign these mega deals rumored to be around $100 million with the likes of Spotify and Netflix? Surely he can pay for his own private security. Taxpayers should not be footing the bill there."

The discussion also touched on the fact that future mega deals seem unlikely given that the products Harry and Meghan have produced haven't justified the investment.

Meghan Markle Shares Prince Harry's Wisdom

In lighter news, Meghan Markle recently opened up about advice Prince Harry gave her for getting through tough days. Reflecting on his experience as a helicopter pilot in the British Army for 10 years, Meghan shared: "Sometimes on really hard days, I remember once he said, 'Yeah, but my love, you know, even if there's a storm happening, above the storm, the sun's always shining.' And that's a perspective that only comes when you think about zooming out a little bit."

Schofield offered a measured response: "Prince Harry's advice isn't bad. My only question is why didn't he take it himself six years ago? I've never seen two people so committed to the victim narrative. At some point, healing requires looking forward instead of constantly looking back. The happiest people I know don't spend years relitigating every perceived slight. Eventually, you have to choose peace over perpetual grievance."

Usher's Awkward Concert Moment

In entertainment news, footage from an Usher concert went viral after the singer stopped a steamy lap dance and kicked a female fan off stage because she wasn't into it. The woman appeared to recoil as Usher leaned in, leading him to stop the performance.

Schofield suggested the woman might have been being respectful to her partner: "She did seem to be recoiling as he was leaning into her, but she may have had her man in the audience and he's there topless gyrating in front of her. Maybe she's just being respectful to her husband or boyfriend."

However, she also raised another concern: "Personally, I've never completely gotten past the herpes lawsuits. Even though those cases were settled confidentially years ago, they undeniably affected his public image. And if someone was grinding on me and I knew they'd settled a herpes lawsuit or two, I'd also act a little perturbed. If I'm being honest with you, I would be a little concerned."
